+ Show Spoiler +I just finished watching the ASL finals. All in all the series were really fast games and soma and FlaSh went toe to toe. What I can't seem to understand is how FlaSh threw the last game like this. He 100% could have won the last game but decided to gg and leave the game? Is this for real? Is there something behind the scenes I am missing? Did he made a secret deal to get more money or something? I do not understand at all. when i saw the gg from flash me and others were very very surprised he just left the game and let soma be the champion. It is like watching a soccer game and you see the most weird stuff happening, there we know almost every game is rigged because of bets. Could it be there is a secret betting scene in korea for ASL with money involved? This must be the worse ASL final game I have witnessed in my life and i am very dissapointed towards FlaSh.
Before you answer anything please do watch the ASL finals and let me know what you think about it.

He was just tilted and maybe misjudged the situation a bit. It was bad decision to cancel the second barracks that was completing the wall. Probably thought soma switched to macro already. Aanyway it was more psychological than anything else, fun series's overall. At least we hove something to discuss for a couple of years. Looking forward to to flash's analysis and explanation.

Flash not a robot, he's a human. Humans make mistakes. I don't understand why so many people don't understand this.

Flash has made multiple mistakes under finals pressure in the past, such as in NateMSL Season 1, Korean Air Season 1, and ASL Season 6.

i agree he could have played it out longer; he should have floated main and mined from nat for a while, but he was at a serious disadvantage. soma wasn't necessarily all-in, he had 2nd base and tech coming too

FlaSh saw the number of lings and drones in his main. I think he can know he need the number of marines to clear them.
99% other players just lift their CC and play normally. In the FlaSh's situation, there is a bit difference, he didn't lose any Supply Depot at all.

Looking forward to Jinjin's English translations to hear Flash and other progamers share their perspectives...
He (Jinjin) has been commenting over at Reddit that fellow progamers could tell Flash's micro and control were really poor in the finals, even if Flash's build orders were superior

perhaps flash's wrists were just giving him too much discomfort for a drawn out comeback
I was actually more disappointed with game 2's early leave, it was only 7 marines that entered soma's main, and with 2 burrowed lurks under swarm at the nat, nothing else was getting in.
No buildings were actually destroyed yet, consume is done, 3rd was untouched.
You can draw up scenarios of how it can end from there but why leave it up to speculation - make flash actually execute on those plays and at least try because we've all seen games play out successfully from situations like that.
Playing on would actually be beneficial if soma is physically healthy (trading stamina for stamina), compared to flash who has been very upfront about his wrists.

he was 100% dead what are you talking about? In that gamestate it was just a normal gg.

what are you talking about 39 to 93 supply. no drones at nat. marine medic in main, more on the way. 4 drones at 3rd. 2nd irradiate almost ready and more fresh vessels.
he was 1000% dead you on crack

"Almost every game of soccer is rigged" and "Flash made a secret deal to get more money"?
What the heck are you talking about? Soma was simply the better player today. Close match, but Flash lost fair and square. No need for conspiracy theories.
|
I think Flash played too greedy and wasn't 100% focused mentally like he usually is, and Soma took a chance and beat him. That's it.
I don't think we need a conspiracy to explain why a guy who was essentially retired from BW, deals with a serious injury, lost a final 3-4 in the first season he played in years. Flash is good, but he's no unbeatable and he's not immune to stress or poor decisions.
