So fuck normalcy, I want BETTER for the country.
Yea, "return to decency" or "return to normalcy" is a bullshit euphemism for ignorance, fear, or a comfort in the status quo.
I'll vote for him if he's the nominee, but I would take a certain twisted pleasure in watching the Dems lose for a 2nd time to one of the worst presidents in this country's history. While I care enough to vote to try to at least marginally improve the lives of those most affected, my life is most certainly insulated enough to be able to ride out another 4 years of Trump. You would have to imagine that if the Democratic establishment manages to lose to Trump twice that the whole fucking party apparatus would have to implode.

That's my mentality behind not wanting to vote for Biden.
How will things ever progress past "same old shitty situation" if that's the high end of the spectrum.
The DNC needs their teeth kicked in to actually understand that some people want a BETTER world and not just the same one that's fucking them over.

But that's also not doing right by your fellow citizens. There are people that measurably suffer under a Trump presidency. Their lives would improve under Biden, even if he would also be a poor president overall.
Edit: Biden might even win Minnesota.

Colorado is called for Bernie, Bloomberg 2nd, Warren in 4th she's also 3rd in Mass (her home state) so far.

Biden supporters don't want "same old shit". They liked Obama and they see Biden as a continuation of his path, that is to carefully progress in the right direction instead of rushing there and doing more harm than good in the process. Or failing to get there at all.
Does it really look that bad for Sanders? We're still waiting for California.

But then when do their lives really improve?
If all we get is "STATUS QUO 4 LIFE" were NEVER going to get any better.
Its the choice between a risky elective surgery, just dying a slow diseased guaranteed death, or dying a slow diseased slightly more painful death.
When do we get to pick the first one when the second is shoved down our throats and we're left with no choice but to accept it else we get the third.

During the primary. This is how coalitions work.
There are simply too many voters against us in the primary. This could be due to a number of reasons, including Bernie not being the greatest candidate, his supporters being assholes that turn a lot of people off, the general message of the progressive movement not reaching people very well, old people not dying fast enough, young people not actually voting enough, and many other reasons.
And anyone who tells you that voting Biden or Trump does not matter, just look at supreme court appointments which last much longer then presidents, is lying or is delusional.
This is also an incredible point. The Supreme Court has the power to irreparably alter the foundations of how our democracy works for decades or more with a single ruling. Trump's two court appointments have done more to change American politics than any policy he's enacted. Four more years of Trump will almost guarantee a 6-3 (or worse) conservative majority on the court for many, many years.

Then I guess that means the first option just can't happen, which makes me think I should just do what I can to leave to another country because frankly both parties have their vested interest in preventing progressivism from existing properly in US politics, if the people can't make it happen then I suppose I just dont fit in with the US and should go elsewhere.

I'd probably choose a woman under 50 who's smart enough not to sink the campaign with some stupid quotes, though Biden might do that himself.

Nowhere to run with bipartisan support for inadequate climate policy that makes large swaths of the planet uninhabitable which leads to economic collapse, mass migration, and war.
Doesn't matter whether Trump or Biden were to win, 2024 is too late according to the best available science.

Biden leading in Hennepin county (the most urban county in Minnesota). Lots of young and very liberal people live there, but also a lot of non-white voters.
Bernie is getting fucking crushed in the black vote.

Looks like the DNC decided that it was time to stack the deck in favor of Biden, so the entire voting population followed along. Bummer.
Hopefully they do a better job in 2024 when the next chance comes along for a Dem president.

Minnesota called for Biden. He also might win Maine.
Uffda.

So wtf happened. When did Biden become Goliath? He tanked so hard before

Just saw 538 say that Biden is crushing it with people voting today, but was losing handily with early voters/mail voters.

So the last debate was some kind of complete knockout? Wonder if Bernie lost or Biden won

I don't think it was the debate, really. I think it was Clyburn, Klobuchar, and Buttigieg all endorsing Biden.
