Oh wow, unless Serenity is buffed by a bit now I suspect SEF is default go-to for now.

I pretty much solo healed them and myself but there isnt that much dmg going around when mobs die quickly anyway. Only time it was close was on moroes cause this week theres the buff lady and we had no one to dispel the armor debuff. Had to divine shield first one and power through the second one with lay on hands etc. Was pretty fun actually, maybe next week ill try tank +4 dps :D Can confirm as a healer. Have almost nothing to on a Nightbane run. DK tank on last run did barely even require healing on Nightbane. Kinda annoying since I am not a fan of playing pseudo dps.

How does everyone think brewmaster tanking compares to say demon hunter or DK?

On utter farm where a risk of death does not exist your better off with a DH or DK since they require less healing to keep topped. When it actually matters BrM for sure. In a few days when the new patch hits they will probably be the 2nd best tank after Druids.
No real self sustain until they hit 35% (and then its pretty good) but Stagger means that tank deaths are basically impossible unless the tank did something really wrong. Yes they take more damage in total but when you factor in how much over-healing a tank normally takes in a raid environment its not really a big deal.
|
Yeah, if you want one sentence resuming BrM Monks They are great at doing hard content, while being kinda meh at farming easy stuff.
|
My BrM tank is awesome! Many high M+ affixes are very easy based on our toolkit and we are basically unkillable unless we mess up. In 7.1.5 we can switch our talents around to become even tougher to kill too (Our 75 row gets reworked and actually is very competitive across all 3 talents).
I personally think we will be the best tank after the buffs. Atm a properly played BrM already takes equal of less damage than a guardian druid.
The biggest problem is that you can mess up so the variance in BrM tanks you get is huge. Some fall over dead in an instant, others just never die.

7.1.5 notes just went up and there are lots of errors, changes and missing info. Can't tell which is which at the moment
Pvp templates now scaling to artifact trait 54 - i don't like that at all. I think that the system as a whole is stuck in an awkward middle ground between having gear scaling and not having it, end result being that it doesn't appeal to me in either way.

so i'm at the point where i'm losing motivation to play the game. i'd transfer off cenarius onto an oceaniac server but i have no money to do so.

I think that's pretty normal, we're at burnout times atm
have been chilling for 1 month and 7.1.5 + nighthold should be interesting to play on a lighter schedule for a while

I dono about burnout times. I think the issue is that there is nothing to do but chill lol.

m+ and raid progress hasn't gone anywhere
lots of people still losing their shit in class discords over last minute changes + Show Spoiler +

Yea, i just got my +15 last week on bolstering skittish. Was going to try +16 this week but spend all my playtime farming ap instead. Ill definitely try today though.

We are going to look back at this expansion and all agree that unlimited loot from mythic+ was a mistake. Should only be eligible for 1 chest from each difficulty once a week. Farming to 54 on two characters really tested me.

Yeah I thought it was obvious I mean it was for Solo players. Both me and GTR play solo for the most part and sometimes together if our schedules aligned. It got so boring I got convinced by my friends who I absolutely wanted to avoid (because they arent that good) to roll horde and play with them, but w/e suffering is still better than boredome.
Also Mythic +.. yawn .... either way the issue is not burnout. we dont play that much to begin with.
The comment was specific to our situations, so your diagnosis while appropriate to some cases, was not appropriate for this one.

I also play solo and guildless, though im a tank. I mean if you dont raid and scoff at m+ then i dont know what else blizzard could put in that would motivate someone like you to play for 3 months after release. So it's not surprising you lose motivation. But hey there's brawlers guild coming out.

I didnt say I lost motivation. I said it got boring, being bored is also motivation to find ways to make the game more interesting. And youre right, its nothing to do with Blizzard the game has plenty for everyone, but high end raiding seriously doesnt seem like a fulfilling experience and casual raiding seems like comitting to much for mediocrity. W/E my friends are in a raid guild ill taggle along for hc's in NH. We will see.
Also I started the game in November. So even less than that.

I don't like ap / legendary farming but it's still better than the last thing they tried (nothing relevant to do outside of guild raid hours)
Farming to 54 instead of etc 46 is a minmax thing. Minmaxing is extremely time consuming and frustrating at best and we're far from the best right now IMO. Serious minmaxers have an array of characters to abuse class/spec balance, deleting the ones that roll bad legendaries and releveling them to 110 to abuse the much higher droprates on fresh characters. They keep many of these chars in top raiding condition for splitrunning and subbing during progression, playing 40, 50 hours a week to do so sometimes.
There's a line to draw somewhere for how far you are willing to go per 1% increase in usefulness to a raid.. there's no light at the end of the tunnel, just insanity trying to get there

Yeah I have to agree, there is no limit to how much people will try to min max. So really the AP thing isnt such a bad deal. Legendaries though they messed up with bad. Regardless of what people try to do to get ahead, the fact that you cant balance them when you give them dps utility will always exist and they messed it up pretty bad for the first tier. Naturally the easy solution is to give every everything sooner rather than later. But still. The fact that certain pieces of gear are so overwhelmingly OP in certain instances is a bit silly.
