Because of so many platoon situations, a genuine top 5 rb who doesn't share carries like Lynch or Charles or Bell are huge. Losing Charles or Foster to injury fucking blows, but you shouldn't write them off as a bad investment due to something like injury, much like you would never pass on AA in poker because one time you caught a bad beat and got sniped by 22. There's a reason 'follow opportunities' has been a fantasy football staple for so long.
For every team, the #1 WR will be on the field for 95% snap of the season. There's like 5 rbs who will crack 80%, and a bulk are probably closer to 60%. That's why Gronk is so valuable. He plays every damn down, and while TEs score little compared with everything else, he's going to be damn near 2x as good as the next best TE.
what the hell was woodhead doing on waivers this late in the season??
Haha TE bye week ftw.
Probably didn't pick up on how fail Melvin has been and how Oliver simply doesn't have the endurance to play 4 qtrs as a number 1 RB. Considering Woodhead has the same number of fumbles with more than 4x the carries I expect him to average over 13pts per game for the rest of the season (provided Oliver doesn't steal too many TD's).

Consider this my annual Thursday night football is fucking terrible and should never have become a thing post. Excpect a much more vitrolic version of this if someone on either team is injured this week.

Jordan Matthews, Peyton Manning and Travis Kelce plus his first round pick for Andrew Luck.
It's a dynasty league so we draft rookies and new defensive players every year. I have Tannehill and Rodgers. You think it's worth it even for the pick and the other two players?
I like the way the Patriots and the Dolphins are handling this week. The interviews are fun but respectful.

I have Sanders, Landry and Bryant (Steelers) as well as Blount and Stewart (Panthers). I need 2 WRs and a Flex. Having trouble deciding who to bench this week.
I'm thinking of starting Sanders and Landry. Bryant has a high upside with Big Ben returning but I think he'll have the most variance. I'm leaning towards benching Blount as well because who knows who Belichick is going to play. Stewart gets vultured by Cam and Tolbert a lot though. At least Blount can get tds if he gets touches.

With Rodgers and Tanny, for his first plus Kelce and Matthews, totally worth. Luck could be almost as good as Rodgers is right now one day, but the value is heavily on your side short medium and medium long term as I bet Rodgers has 5 more years at least of being better than Luck. Take that and run.

I'm in a precarious position of needing to hit Titan / Texans line (poor choices were made), and my head is about to explode. Any suggestions?

Damn you had Luck and Rodgers? Yowzer
Are you a 2 qb league or something? Get something more useful back than Manning. Matthews has little value too IMO, he looks like a really weak WR3. Kelce is good but marginally better than your average TE in a 12 man league. The value of that first depends on how many keepers you guys get. If you have 3 keepers, that first is just the first crack at getting 3rd round talent most likely, or a gamble on an older guy like Peterson, Foster, etc.

That horrible feeling when you realize the best player on your fantasy team is your kicker (gostkowski)...

I picked the team up for someone who dropped this year so I'm guessing he had the first pick the year luck was in the draft.
In this league you keep literally the same team as the year before except they redraft defensive players and you get 5 rounds to draft free agents and rookies. First time I've ever done a league like this.
I ended up talking him into his first pick, Peyton, Gronk, and John Brown for Luck.

Ok yeah that is a lot better, because that 1st really isn't that great under that format. Again, I don't suppose there is any way to get literally anyone other tahn Peyton. He's not good enough to start for you and he's almost assuredly done after this year. It's almost certainly a waste. I would unironically rather roster Tannehill as my backup due to those keeper settings

Ohh hey I went away from the game for less than 3 minutes and the pats scored

These Thursday night games just make it impossible to have a good showing from a team...

Miami's offense pulled a Ryan Mallett. The defense set them up a few times and they just didn't show up.
