my problem with the 2014 NHL brand of hockey is all the brain injuries. Tim Thomas might be the #1 goalie in Dallas for a while. | ||

I dunno, Canucks were always kind of an enigma. The year they broke out and won the Presidents trophy everyone kind of expected them to suck, and they just... didn't. They finished out of the playoffs the year before, and they had a few of their best players retire. Kesler came out of no where and was a 90 point center for them. Both Sedins went from being 60-70 point players to being 90 point players overnight. Despite having no depth they had strong goal tending and the Sedins/Kesler could just win every game for them. And now suddenly they have all this depth, and they just explodes. | ||

Kesler's best year was 75 points, his best goal scoring year was the next one with 41 goals, when the Northwestern division was chasing the Southeastern for the worst division in the league. He has gone back to his mean performance of about 55-60 points a year. But ya it was basically the Sedins graduating from the 2nd line behind Naslund to first line players and Luongo having his best year on the Canucks that first year he was there. Then they hired Mike Gillis who started giving away draft picks and young players like hot cakes and now all they have in youth is Lack, Hansen and maybe Horvat. | ||
