Random option don´t make sense :/

If you want to practice different races, you choose protoss, zerg or terran. "Random" is like a cheat a mode where your opponent does not know what race you are and what to do until find out. What can take a long time in some maps. If tournaments don´t allow random, Blizzard ladder should not allow too.

Tournaments do allow random, it is just too hard of a race for a pro to stay competitive with it.

It's just something that is part of Starcraft as a tradition. Not everything in SC2 will be sacrificed entirely for fairness, especially not something this trivial.

In other words, deal with it.

you are the first guy who complains about RANDOM, if someone says "i can't decide between protoss zerg or terran"
he chooses random and its not really cheating

You're right! It's like random is a 4th race that gives you access to all these new units totally OP units. /sarcasm_off

Agree. If someone was able to win a major event using random. He would gain instant bonjwa status.

haha what a stupid thread. if you're getting beaten by randoms on ladder it probably means that person's skill level across three races is the same if not better than yours with one race. and as far as it being "like a cheat a mode," i think that's a deserved benefit for the player who has to keep his/her skill up across all races. that said, i play random and i will just about always tell the other player my race if they ask as long as they're not being a dick about it

One of the points of playing random is that you introduce a new meta-game, since your opponents have to open with a safe opening - and you yourself sort of as well, since you're much more likely to get cheesed!

Grrrr... played some random on his way to winning the firt OSL and I do believe that OGN listed hin as a random plater.

True 9 from 10 of thats random practice is 6 pool double rax or 4gate or just some all in... that can beat you only cause u dont start vs matchup u know you play most of the times....but blizz have this archiements for random play so it dont get cancel anyway.....

if you want to play random OK, but on loadscreen your race must be revealed!

I play random. Having to learn twice as many build orders for twice as many matchups kind of balances it out. Besides, I usually tell my opponent what race I am playing. I want to learn all matchups, and when I don't tell my opponent my race I mess up their builds.
