Last week I wrote an article about how i thought League of Legends would possibly become the next biggest E-Sports game, beating out StarCraft2? Well It's clear day 1 of MLG Anaheim. The StarCraft 2 stream had 10,000 less viewers than League of Legends! League of Legends is on the rise but it shouldn't be rising this quickly! Even "SKMC" was representing League by hopping around in a hat after he won his game.
It's clear, MLG Summer Championship will bring in more LoL players. What can StarCraft 2 do to keep its reputation? Even though the amazing 1v1 for SC2 is an adrenaline rush for players the "team environment" in LoL may overtake. Playing with your friends sounds better to a lot of people than playing a 1v1. StarCraft 2 needs to rise, Blizzard release HotS by the end of 2012 the StarCraft community needs it! ,For now you all need to tune into MLG Anaheim and watch some amazing StarCraft 2. Show your support and cheer for the pros.
Ill be writing Wednesday, comment a topic E-Sports related you want to hear about!
LoL is free to play thus has more players, of course they are going to have more user watching the stream. Why do even Lol and sc2 have to compete since they are two different games. It feels like what you are doing is too much sensational/drama orientation.
I don't know exactly what it is you did here, but you are extraordinarily bad at it. It seems like you believe that sc2 is losing viewers to lol instead of it drawing in it's own viewers as if one could not view both. But then you go on to suggest hots will bring people back from Lol that are interested in team play. This horse has been beaten into undeath at this point.
Okay semi serious post from me since no one will take you seriously.IF you truly wanna write something about esports:
Talk about the importance of that whatever game is being a esport is backed up by huge companies and sponors. Another important point is the infrastructure being used when playing it, like holding tournaments, community and how long it's been around. Another important point is how viewer friendly the game is, if only people who plays the game watches it then it's really bad, to a esport to be sustainable people who very rarely or are very bad of the game still have to enjoy it.If viewer size was all that mattered the number #1 e-sports game would be farmville or the Sims.
