Given that the group of "haters" was large enough to force Razer or Quantic's hand, I wouldn't call them insignificant. Regardless of whether or not players/casters/teams think this sort of thing is morally wrong, pragmatically they have to clean up their language because the community has proven twice now that it doesn't want that behavior and will punish it.
Edit: And yes, in the world of PR even a hollow apology that you don't mean is better than standing your ground against a community that has clearly drawn a line.

I don't know where all smart people are. Probably they're too smart to participate in this nonsense. I'm going to join them now.
The point in question is that Destiny did say a racist term and quantic/eports/sponsors don't like that sort of thing.
I have no idea why the question of Destiny being a racist (with a neo nazi mentality) is being brought up because it doesn't bring anything to the table. Do you actually believe that if Destiny isn't a racist at heart then it will be ok and fine for him to insult other races? Do you believe that if Destiny didn't have a neo nazi mentality that that would mean he could say racist things without hurting others?
He said something that was wrong. He got sacked by quantic because they have sponsors to please. Nuff said. That's what happened and it was the right call.
I challenge any one of you who backs destiny to post a youtube video with your face showing spewing racist terms. I mean if Destiny isn't a racist yet he uses racist terms then why can't you do the same on youtube?
But none of you will do that...because you are all scared to do so. Because people don't like people saying racist things regardless of whether they have the neo nazi mentality or not.

Right, because none of those viewers are Jewish who have family members who were holocaust victims? If Destiny is reprimanded for a silly word, then Stephano should too. It's the exact same thing. The hypocrites people are, it's mind blowing.
Some people find it unbelievable not everyone is riding the Destiny hate-train. I find it unbelievable that people are saying that Stephano has the right to joke about such things whereas Destiny doesn't. It's the exact same issue.

did the stranger get offended ? you talked with him ?

It's just insane, literally, a perfect term is we are lynching people, without due process. Like, the community are a part of the freaking Salem Witch Trails. We are being judge, jury, executioner, and supreme asshole. We are not letting these events, process long enough. We are not letting objective questions, and none emotional responces govern things. We are being fucking crazy ass fiends, who just do whatever we want without any semblance of order or intelligence. We are running off emotions, and making all of us look like asses, to everybody, everywhere.
Get a grip Sc2 community, we are honestly pathetic. No, what's insane is the people who try to defend him. I literally cannot understand whatsoever how people try to defend Destiny when he uses racial slurs. I've seen countless people try to defend why he should be allowed to say it. There are very, very few industries that you can actually get people to defend you when you call someone a derogatory racial slur, and esports is apparently and unfortunately one of them. What do you want us to do? He uses a racial slur on his stream that thousands of people are watching, a thread is made, he comes into the thread saying he would rather keep using those kinds of terms instead of issuing an apology and shows no interest in changing. No one is asking for Destiny to stop saying anything, no one is asking him to be a completely different person, however this whole situation is easily avoided, if people just stop using those words. That's it. It's really not that complicated. Don't call someone a racial slur, don't get this shit fest. Works 100% of the time. If you can't control your emotions enough to not call someone a racial slur then you have some real anger issues. Go ahead and call someone trash or bad or shit or garbage but when you bring their race, gender or ethnicity into it then you are crossing the line into a very personal attack, which makes you look like an immature punk. The part of this community that is 'pathetic' are the people who come in here and tell people to just get over it, grow thicker skin or stop being sensitive. That's absurd. Maybe some people can get offended easily than others but telling them that they should just get over it when someone throws around language like that is just ignorant. That excuse doesn't hold up in the real world and if we're trying to make this look professional why should it hold up here? Just because you're on the internet doesn't mean you should get a free pass to act like a racist idiot. This guy understands it, If you are defending Destiny and think we are pathetic cause we don't want racist, prejudice kids representing our community. Then so be it, we are pathetic as a community....... Don't you think you're being a bit selective, which is the crux of Destiny's argument? You're ok with violence, terms like "owned" hm... gee.. wonder where the term owned came from.... Yet you draw the line at someone using a racial slur in a "raging" or joking manner. Are you telling me you've never called a female a bitch, or someone a moron, or retard? You don't EVER stereotype people based on race? Destiny isn't the chicken. He's part of the group of eggs that are everyone in the community of gamers in our generation. He didn't create the slang used, or the offensive nature, or the CONFLICT that is inherent in games. You want to WIN, and someone else will LOSE. When you are the loser, you lash out. It's natural. Putting importance and meaning to the words of an irrational emotional person who just lost a game that they play for a living is a fucking joke.
That's the problem, you somehow see his rage as joking. Calling someone a fucking faggot then telling them to fuck off g**k doesn't really seem like a joke, especially after the person whom he said it to makes a thread about it complaining. Again I understand that when you lose you can get frustrated but I'll reiterate what I said in my OP, when you make it a personal attack then that's crossing the line. Also to all this 'where do we draw the line' bullshit is tiresome, I keep seeing people posting it. How about we start at racial attacks. Seems like a pretty good place to draw the first line here.

You know what; this is the best possible outcome for all involved. Including Destiny, since he doesn't have to worry about jeopardizing anyone else's careers and still has his legions of fanboys getting him stream revenue.
Job done, everybody go home.

My head hurts, if you're open minded you shouldn't be outright dismissing something then.

Destiny has expressed time and time again, like a normal human being, that he speaks his mind. He doesn't hide behind social norms and feels free to express his opinion on HIS stream, regardless of how controversial it might be. If you're easily offended, don't watch. No one is forcing you. I understand the mentality that with Quantic, he's not only representing the team, but all names and sponsors affiliated with it. However, Quantic surely knew enough about Destiny to determine whether or not the risk/reward with Destiny was worth it. Nicely said. I'm just gonna say that for the most part I really have started hating the SC2 community lately. It's all just incredibly base and hypocritical, people just stirring up drama for whatever reason and then heaps of people bandwagoning to just mob on a single person for whatever reason. Not to mention half the people in this community are actually so diluted that they actually think "using a racial slur = racism" wow, just...there is no reasoning with these rabid dogs.
We were supposed to be better than this but we aren't, this to me is no better than any Xbox live community, it's just drama and sensationalism and hypicicy at every corner these days. How sad it is to see some 14yr old kid gets a power rush out of coaxing people to mass email sponsors and pressure someone like Destiny to quit his team. So I guess my point is that this community acts like it's better and more refined than other gaming communities but it isn't, if anything it's a bit worse because now half these people just act like irrational tools under the guize of "doing it for esports", how amusing.

No one anywhere would get away with being openly racist like Destiny has done on multiple occassions. You should watch some stand up comedy dude. Can someone help me please...
I was playing ladder and somebody called me a "fucking white-trash redneck cracker". I am greatly offended by this racist hate-crime. What are the major sites I can search so I can get his contact details and try to ruin his life? I want to do this for the community.
My little butt is so hurt by this. This is the perfect exaple of how stupid this sounds. ( I don't mean you Psychobabas, cuz I see what you did here ) Lets purify BM and "racism" from the internet, for the sake of esports. Oh shit there is no esports left... stand up comedy and blatant racial insults are totally and utterly different. You can see what destiny wrote in those screenshots and comparing it to a stand up comedian is utterly wrong. He is a racist simple as. He says those things because he is raging. Professional esports is trying to grow. Supporting racists will stop that growth. We don't like racists irl so why should we gamers tolerate racists ingame as well? Do you think Destiny actually hates Asians? If so, please explain why. If not, realize that there's a significant difference between the racists people rail against IRL (i.e. people who actively try to stop minorities from participating in some aspect of society) and people who use the word 'nigger' (i.e. about 99% of the english-speaking world). Destiny said something that would insult/hurt the other ethnic group he or she is speaking to. He deliberately went out of his way to insult a korean based on his race. Therefore that comment was a racist comment. Simple. So instead of using 'gook', Destiny used 'dumassfuck retard'. You'd be satisfied? No because that would be discriminatory based on a person's disability.
Yeah, I wouldn't want to be called out on my lack of the ability to speak either!

I understand the dislike for the hate (hate? Racist? Whatever destiny called it) speech, but I'm... idk, he has some anger issues, and in the end did the professional thing (even after not being professional)
I will still be watching for analysis
