Destiny did get fired. Destiny is obviously angry in the post he made. He is just trying to cover up the fact he was fired. Plently of people irl have been fired but then it has become a 'mutual arrangement' in the public domain.

I hate to see this honestly.
I did email Quantic, but I really wished this would have stayed in house. Its a shame to see sponsors get involved.
Incase you guys don't realise, sponsors are what make esports. No one else in this industry can survive if we constantly have sponsors involved in a negative light.

Is there a point to discussing this with you when you immediately assume that somebody you disagree with is lying?
The point is that you could have achieved the same outcome (Destiny losing his team) without harming Quantic. Please address this.

Its just cosmetics. It actually helps because black gamers won't need to read dumb threads about supposed professional gamers using the word 'ni****' flagrantly. Sc2 has a lot of young gamers. Imagine a black kid who is 10 or 11 reading nonsense like this? it's not appropriate at all. Show some respect for other races.
I am in fact showing respect for black people. I would like to see their problems being handled in a constructive way, that was what I was trying to say (and Wortie before me) , by them getting better chances for university education/ education in general and building their community and that goes for all minorities, because thats the real issue they are suffering from. You and other people who value the word itself so much, are treating them like children, its like saying you dont say A but B, although A will forever be A, even if u call it C, D, the number J or whatever you want too. Thats why censorship will never work and is just a silly reaction. Can you see the difference?

You can see what destiny wrote in those screenshots and comparing it to a stand up comedian is utterly wrong. He is a racist simple as. He says those things because he is raging. Professional esports is trying to grow. Supporting racists will stop that growth. We don't like racists irl so why should we gamers tolerate racists ingame as well? Do you think Destiny actually hates Asians? If so, please explain why. If not, realize that there's a significant difference between the racists people rail against IRL (i.e. people who actively try to stop minorities from participating in some aspect of society) and people who use the word 'nigger' (i.e. about 99% of the english-speaking world). Destiny said something that would insult/hurt the other ethnic group he or she is speaking to. He deliberately went out of his way to insult a korean based on his race. Therefore that comment was a racist comment. Simple. So instead of using 'gook', Destiny used 'dumassfuck retard'. You'd be satisfied? Why do you feel like there is a need for destiny to be as offensive as possible at all? Because he's making a hypothetical comparison of insults -_-

If you seriously think he "parted ways cordially" with Quantic, you're obviously mistaken.
The fact that this issue came about up to the point that he had to leave the team means that it was a Serious talk. i.e. Quantic said "Look, sort your act out... we're hurting because we're a professional organisation and your non-pc language isn't pleasing sponsors"

Orb didn't even deserve it, he lost a job and money over something that happened long ago. And that something is perfectly normal (to rage after a game, the words were not important). Now he knows he's representing the community and acts accordingly in public.
I don't like Destiny much, but he has even less reasons to lose his team spot, he's not representing the community, and it's even his thing that attract people to his stream. People didn't go in a crusade when Idra was being that BM in the ladder. God people can be sensible and/or biased.

You know what ? I am done , sick and tired of these lame excuses , you say we won't admit it ? fine , I sent Quantic an Email and this is what I sent , read it and see why exactly I did it.
+ Show Spoiler +Dear Quantic , First of all sorry for the lengthy letter , but I really have a lot on my mind , I will try to make it as short as I can. I was about to write this letter to your sponsors , until I read a comment by Eg.Incontrol on the thread in question asking us to complain to the team first , I think he makes a valid point , so here it goes. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=333649 (thread in question) I am glad someone made this thread and started this flame storm , now I know I am not alone , I came to realize that Steven "Destiny" Bonnell, a member of on your team and a public figure who represents your team is not someone that deserves any kind of respect , nor does he deserve to be on your great team , tainting the name of Quantic . By now I am sure you know what I am talking about , his racial slurs and homophobic comments have reached a ridiculous level. In all honesty , this isn't what I am what upsets me , in the end a bad mannered racist like him will eventually stopping being funny and no one will support him , he dug his won grave already and he doesn't know it , what upsets me is the fact that he hides behind what he believes is freedom of speech , a fundamental principle we all believe in , I have to ask myself , since when did freedom of speech allow us people to abuse and hurt others ? when did it become a window for racism ? freedom of speech allows us to express our thoughts and ideas supported by facts in a tolerant nonviolent atmosphere , no where in that definition does it allow anyone to call people "niggers" , "gooks" , "fags"...etc Please watch this video , Look at Destiny's defense of his "freedom of speech" , not only does he use the word "nigger" , he defends his use of it with some of the most outdated cliche arguments and logical fallacies that can't fool any intelligent person who has the basic experience is debating. Note : He mentions what he thinks is "context" every now and then , even some of his die hard fans defend him using this argument , what is this context they are referring to and how on earth does it help his case ? it is clear Destiny wants to humiliate and hurt his targets , this is the context when he uses these terms , whether he likes it or not , this is what people will understand. Can you , dear reader , accept this as an action that represents Quantic as an organization ? how will people take e-sports and e-sport organizations with a player like this ? E-sports is a SPORT and I expect pro-gamers to live up to the meaning of this word , I don't see other athletes using such terms , imagine of a football (soccer) player used such language and tried to justify it the way Destiny tried , will he get away with it ? I don't think so because Football Clubs are professional and respectable organizations. Lastly , this is a direct quote from your "About" section on your website : "Our Philosophy In many ways, we like to think of ourselves as “the people’s team” of competitive gaming. We firmly believe that it’s the fans that make this industry a reality; without them, we’d be nothing. We think it’s important to never forget that fact. Quantic strives to not only deliver an engaging experience to the fans, but to also deliver to them the brands of our partners. In many ways, we’re not just a pro-gaming team, but also a brand representation and new media organization, engineered to deliver marketing messages to the masses through our captivating players and personalities." I fail to see how Destiny falls into this , the people's team ? How can you be a "people's team" with a player who uses such offensive language against other people of different races and sexual orientation ? Does Quantic use racism to market their brands ? Quantic is better than this. I sincerely hope that Quantic Gaming does not endorse this behavior and demented way of thinking , I ask you to please take actions again Steven "Destiny" Bonnell , otherwise this e-mail will be forwarded to your sponsors , Kindest Regards , Abdallah Ibrahim
There , you happy ?
And just to let you know , when it comes to racism ,the abuse of freedom of speech and e-sports , i dont give a fuck about e-sports , if e-sports will somehow become a common place where racial slurs are used offensivly (like Destiny does) , then i hope it dies and never comes back.

He should prolly learn how to stop a cannon rush before he types another word. Non sequitur buddie. Really? If he stopped this cannon rush, none of this would have happened.
Edit: instead he failed, raged and is now teamless.

I think that deep down, the people who contacted the sponsors realize that it wasn't really to carry the banner of justice and do the right thing for esports. It was just to fulfill some cynical urge in them to be destructive and incite drama. And that's why I haven't seen a single person in this thread admit to it directly (though someone correct me if I've missed it). The bottom line is that you're doing more harm than good. We would be better off without you as a "fan". Now let's see if any of them will admit to it in response to this, or if they will just continue to hide in their little holes. i emailed razer. and i stand by it. personally, i think any racism in any form is absolutely disgusting, and im exactly the same in real life. if people i know act racist tell them not to, and if they keep doing it i stop any associations with them. if you are stupid enough to think that e sports can grow beyond what it is right now with behaviour like that your very stupid. and i dont feel bad about not giving quantic a chance to respond because if no one had made a fuss, they wouldn't have. it not the first time destiny has said thing that he wouldn't get away with in any other role, and they have continued to support him. if quantic had chosen destiny over razer they would have been silly, and deserved to fail as a team. and obviously, razer wouldn't have stopped supporting them unless they had no choice. so i dont feel bad about hypothetical situations that were very unlikely to happen. if you want the SC2 community to be consist solely of immature children and socially retarded adults who have no idea how the real world works, then indeed you would be better off without me as a fan, but since thats not what i want, its not something that im willing to give up basic principles to help. and im sure youll laugh at the basic principles bit, but to me, discrimination against anything that you cant help, be it race, sexual orientation, or just a problem you were born with is wrong and should be fought at every moment it rears its head. ive already stated why i think that destiny is actually a racist in the previous thread, and not, as many of his fanboys have said just using it as an expression of free speech, or in an attempt to help bring awareness to the problems, which is another laughable line that has been spouted several times. the bottom line is that while what i did may not have been good for destiny, its good for esports, and TL, to attempt to distance ourselves from things like this. if you want to have a SC2 scene where you can say things like that without getting in trouble, its called /vg/, and its fucking awful forcefully imposing your ideology onto others because you cannot change his action is equally disgusting. Not to mention the way you dealt with it is kind of a "backstabbing" action in community's eye

But it would be devastating to certain parts of Quantic if things continued down this road (and still might be, though there's not much that can be done at this point).
You didn't get Destiny fired. He and Quantic parted ways on their own. All you did was hurt a team that has done a great deal for esports. Because you reacted before you thought, you did more harm than good.
That is 100% not the point of my post. Why do you deliberately misinterpret my point? I could say he was fired, or chased out with a baseball bat, and the point would be the same. The point is that your desired outcome (him being punished for his language) could have been achieved without contacting sponsors, and therefore without harming Quantic.

This is sad really....
Can we all agree to stop emailing sponsors and start contacting the actual teams? What is next? Emailing Dr. Peppers because you have a problem with MLG?
Also as some people already pointed out, the profanity filter is there for a reason and his stream already has the mature language warning...

My little butt is so hurt by this. This is the perfect exaple of how stupid this sounds. ( I don't mean you Psychobabas, cuz I see what you did here ) Lets purify BM and "racism" from the internet, for the sake of esports. Oh shit there is no esports left... stand up comedy and blatant racial insults are totally and utterly different. You can see what destiny wrote in those screenshots and comparing it to a stand up comedian is utterly wrong. He is a racist simple as. He says those things because he is raging. Dodge this question. Destiny was fired because he made a racist comment. Regardless of whether he is a true neo nazi or not, his sponsors and thus team felt it was right to let him go because uttering comments like that is obviously not good for esports. The sponsors and quantic have spoken. I have no idea why people trying to say you have to prove destiny is a neo nazi because if he isn't a neo nazi then his racist comments are invalid. Not really. I could say racist comments and that would cause me to b sacked from my job regardless or whether or not im a neo nazi. Point is, irl doesn't tolerate racist and eports don't tolerate racist. So quantic did the right thing.

But by contacting the sponsors before the team, you have not done the right thing. The desired outcome could have been achieved by going to the team first.
