I don't know what world some of you live in.

I was playing ladder and somebody called me a "fucking white-trash redneck cracker". I am greatly offended by this racist hate-crime. What are the major sites I can search so I can get his contact details and try to ruin his life? I want to do this for the community.

I in no way condone what Destiny said, but I will not be identified as part of a group that tried to ruin a guy's career because they were offended. That's just as malicious, if not more, as what he said. So please, next time you say Destiny got fired because of the "community," be sure to asterisk it and note that only a fraction of the community actually cared enough to personally attack the guy.

I've always rather thought that if you really dislike a professional's opinions and think they're bad, you should just not support them en masse. That sort of message gets through to sponsors. Writing that you think they should fire the guy is backseat management, mob mentality, and utterly irrelevant. You don't give two shits about Quantic's sponsors representing anything. You just want to see a guy you don't like have to do the walk of shame, and, to me, that's just as disgusting as anything Destiny could possible have said.

And this is coming from someone who isn't a fan of Destiny, I personally don't enjoy his content and haven't watched more than 5-10 minutes of his stream/vods. Not my cup of cake, would rather watch higher skill games.

stand up comedy and blatant racial insults are totally and utterly different. You can see what destiny wrote in those screenshots and comparing it to a stand up comedian is utterly wrong. He is a racist simple as. He says those things because he is raging. Professional esports is trying to grow. Supporting racists will stop that growth. We don't like racists irl so why should we gamers tolerate racists ingame as well?

Do you think Destiny actually hates Asians? If so, please explain why. If not, realize that there's a significant difference between the racists people rail against IRL (i.e. people who actively try to stop minorities from participating in some aspect of society) and people who use the word 'nigger' (i.e. about 99% of the english-speaking world).

I don't think Destiny should say the things that he says. I disagree with literally every stance he takes on the notion of "free speech" giving him carte blanche to speak as he pleases. I think he should grow up and understand that words have power beyond his own context.
But that's a matter that needs to be resolved with discussion.
But because people here decided they were going to immediately take the most extreme action possible, blathering to the sponsors, they have hurt not only Destiny, who is supporting a son on his own, but, and it feels like all these posts are willingly ignoring this point, they have hurt Quantic. In case you missed this point, let me use a quote from the OP to drive it home.
But it would be devastating to certain parts of Quantic if things continued down this road (and still might be, though there's not much that can be done at this point).
Let me reiterate.
By going straight to the sponsors, you have dealt a potentially devastating blow to one of the most important teams in E-Sports. To a team who, given their own time, gave you your desired outcome on their own. The whole thing could have been accomplished without hurting Quantic.
And that is why rational people and cooler minds have been trying desperately to convince you to stop going straight to the sponsors.
I hope we've learned something. I feel like we probably haven't.

Maybe try to read that again, the problem is banning the word nigger, does in fact nothing to support black people, because their problems like being payed less/less education wont be solved by any of that. Its just cosmetics.

For an innocent swear on the ladder that didn't hurt anyone the most hardworking streamer of sc2 and the only entertaining one got fired because of the haters.The same community that criticized Eve for being beautiful,insulted Scarlet for being transcender now throws away another player that could bring casual fans to esports.Eve,Scarlet,Orb,Destiny all got destoyed on TL for not fitting the politically correct stance of Incontrol/Day9.This happened while huk gladly used 'nigga' on ladder both on TL and EG.TL is the perfect example why sc2 will become in the near future a kr only game.The only entertaining players who manage to bring casual foreign fans and actualy spend hours playing for their entertainment are swept away immediately when they behave like 90% of internet users out there.Guess what,the game isn't supported neccesarly by pros who play once a year but by grinders like Destiny who produce daily content.And also a lot of viewers simpathize with Destiny.Well it's your decision.From now on I am going to stalk the TL forums and report each cussword whether it is from an admin or from an anonymous user to TL sponsors such as Razor and also inform kr institutions such s KESPA,LG,Samsung,SK.I'm sure koreans who dont view TL will gladly like their players being labeled bring/noname/noface on a foreign website.GG guys.Keep up the good work

This discussion is a giant circlejerk of people not knowing their shit and people knowing their shit but not explaining it.
There are so many open questsions that people like you ignore, for example:
What is racism?
How does one become a racist?
What do racists do that someone that is not racist does as well, or rather what is an indicator of someone being a racist and what not?
Is there "good/okay" racism? How does the biology come into play?
These are just a few questions I came up with(there are way more than this) that clearly are very important to the issue and should be answered in a public matter, but actually people all answer them for themselves, creating groups of understanding and therefore masses of misunderstanding. There is no point in arguing over this while people don't share definitions, views and perspectives. You are basically arguing about different issues.
Also, on top of that, you jump to conclusions and assume things while not even BOTHERING to ask a single question.
That, my friend, is pure ignorance.

I've mostly avoided this drama entirely because I find the community reaction utterly embarrassing, and it's too easy to fall into a warning/ban hole when trying to express this. This post basically sums up how I feel about the situation. Well said.

Destiny said something that would insult/hurt the other ethnic group he or she is speaking to. He deliberately went out of his way to insult a korean based on his race. Therefore that comment was a racist comment. Simple.
