Wow, he has to be fired and his stream has to be permanently removed from this site. Not sure if it already is or not but it has/had to happen. This thread is a mess and the arguments to defend him are ridiculous. What I read most:

- he always was like that and won't change:
Come on, that is just stupid. Let's say you get caught stealing, you very likely wouldn't get away with "oh but I was always stealing, that is just who I am"

- he is not trying to represent the community, he just wants to be himself:
Unfortunately that is not possible because he is making money from it. As long as he is a member of a team and a featured streamer he represents this community if he wants to or not.

Well, it is. It is the very definition of a racist slur motivated by racist thoughts. It is far worse than what the EGs guy did because he only threw random insults without actually targeting anyone directly. The only difference is that with the horrible US past he used a forbidden word so he got rightfully fired. QuanticDestiny on the other hand actively called someone inferior because of his race which is an unaccaptable lowblow. And for the balls part, maybe QuanticDestiny should grow some and stop being a crybaby about losing.

It's useful to see all the usernames of people who think racially abusing someone is somehow acceptable behaviour. Not that anyone will remember them of course I just think it's funny how some people publicly endorse it.

Which valid point did he raise exactly?

Destiny was being a dick, which - if it bothers you enough - you sort out by reporting him to TL/Twitch, ie the people that he streams through and promote his stream and who will probably not approve of such content being featured on their respective websites/services (if they decide it goes against their policy).

There is no point to be made here.

The point is that he is a dick and he shouldn't be a dick unless he is like Paris Hilton who likes to make a video about herself behaving badly for more popularity? By the look of it, he does like he wants more popularity by entertaining people with bad mouthing. In which case, I feel sorry for him that it is the only way he can maintain his popularity. But then he will probably say something like I dont give a fuck!

So where is this point that is worth discussing in that?

He's being a dick and he shouldn't be. Nobody should be. But people still are. And there are means to deal with them (in most cases). So try doing that. Thread over. =/

Above is what I said, I am not going into whether Destiny is allowed or not allowed or right or wrong that sort of stuff. It gets nowhere. What I know is that OP should not be dissed for this post.

You said the OP raised a valid point, which implies that there is a point worth discussing. I said OP raised no points at all and should have acted by reporting Destiny's behaviour to tl, his streaming service, and even Quantic if he was so offended instead of starting a thread on the forums to publicize it.

This thread does not provide meaningful content. It's just a thread where Destiny fans and growth-of-esports fans will bitchslap each other until they get bored or somebody does something about it.

It's rather easy to not be offended when you aren't a marginalized group. There's a huge difference in power between the majority using a slur against a minority and a minority using a slur against the majority. Although I still tend to think we shouldn't call white people crackers either.

There's really no point in opening a thread about this, Destiny has too many fanboys that are super quick to run to his rescue.

I don't think he should be a featured streamer, and thought that should've changed a long time ago. For all the people claiming he's not racist or bigoted, the only evidence we have seems to point to the contrary. TL shouldn't be in the business of promoting his ignorance.

He has already stated why and how he uses racial slurs. I think it's ignorance of yours to not also link material where he talks about this still you made a thread about racial slurs used on his stream.
I know it's extremely hard to believe but using racial slurs doesn't mean you are racist.

Ppl getting apeshit on someone saying a word is getting ridiculous. Why not be against the racism instead??

Destiny contributes a lot to this community, even if he's a jerk. Embrace and appreciate him, and have love for the diversity of personalities we find ourselves encountering every day. Go on channel /v/ and have a nice chat with him. Don't waste your time by whining on a forum about it. Take a step back and realize how pathetic that is. There's no fun in that.
