Well, I wanted to write a thread about this a while ago to see if anybody else though that SC was a rip off Aliens. I provided evidence as well as sources for each.
The dropship from Aliens, The Pilot and the infamous "in the pipe, five by five" quote.

The dropship in StarCraft is the "almost" the same dropship from the Aliens movie.

The Protoss are suppose to be the Predator Simularities - Dreadlocks, Futuristic technology, Hunters of the Aliens, The Ability to cloak, Strong in few numbers and able to battle hundreds of Alien

The Terran are suppose to be the Colonial Marine Simularities - Very Obvious
The Xel'Naga are suppose to be the Space Jockeys - http://avp.wikia.com/wiki/Space_Jockey Simularities - Both are the "fourth race" of the series and the Space Jockeys are bio-engineering experts that created the Alien (Much Similar to the story of the Xel'Naga creating the Zerg and Protoss).
There's a lot more but I just wanted to see if anyone thinks the same thing. Feel free to add comparisions to the thread.
Yes, they have stated several times that they were influeneced heavily by aliens, among other things. Dont remember the exact interview or w/e happened, but they noted that aliens was one of the major inspirations for sc
teamliquid won't say shit about this because they're all blizzard loving fanboys. Go talk to the guys that own the Alien franchise about this gross copyright infringement. I'm sure you can persuade them to split the profits after they sue the pants off of Blizzard. You're not the first person to have noticed this but maybe you'll be the one that has the guts to do something about this. Blizzard have gone on long enough ripping off of other games, series', you name it. It's time somewhat put a stop to their gross abuse.
