This is XD.GG we're talking about. Forget harsh realities, they have trouble dealing with reality in general.

To be honest, they played against Dignitas who just collapsed after Crumbzz's departure for a week and against Curse with Rhux, which was even worse than Dignitas. But it was nice fairytale, coming back from 2-12 and finishing 2nd.

I originally planned on retiring later this season and still am." It really does sound more like a benching then a retirement. According to a new Richard Lewis article XDG basically lied in their statement to Ongamers and Travis. Bloodwater wanted to remain on the team as a support for the rest of the split and management actually kicked him to put Zuna on support. The AMA should help clear things up about this though.

like they weren't sure if they should deny it or explain/rationalize their decision so they made sure they had all their bases covered and hoped something would stick.

Bloodwater: I was not happy at all. Everything that Xmithie worked for in the jungle and everything that Zuna worked for as AD basically was rendered obsolete. Bloodwater: I believe it was Kenma (the coach's) decision to swap them. I was not pleased with the decision.

Bloodwater: I believe it was Kenma (the coach's) decision to swap them. I was not pleased with the decision. This is from a post from Reddit by one of XDG's managers (Gnomesayin) after the Xmithie/Zuna swap: "Actually with new management of XDG, our coach Ken is not the person in charge of roster changes. He gives input, yes, but the person in charge is actually our owner Marshall- If team members underperform, we'll talk about it and make changes that need to be made, this is 100% true." Apparently this was also a lie. EDIT: Hilariously that response was directed at someone saying "Because Zuna's brother is team coach and they won't ever bench him."
