NaNiwa not invited to Code S - Page 70

While I understand that there's a need to discuss this matter, this thread has way too many trash posts in it. Please think carefully about what you want to say. Ad hominem attacks on Swedish people in general, calling you fellow Starcraft fans idiots etc etc will be dealt with with harsher punishment from here on out. Keep it civil people.

Page 230: Here's some more stuff that'll get you banned!
- Conspiracy theory mongering about MLG and GOM
- Comparing people to Hitler
- Posting useless one liners of arguments that have already been repeated ad nauseum.

The people blaming GOM are hilarious. If Fifa didn't ban a team for throwing a game in the world cup when they were already out, there would be worldwide uproar. For the integrity of GOM and Esports, this was the correct decision.

1. They didn't permanently ban him, but revoked his Code S spot and gave it to Sen.

2. They said it was because he offended the audience by throwing away a (meaningless) game against Nestea at the recent Blizzard Cup, and that breaks a rule. With the amount of BM that already exists in the GSL matches inside the game and out (with celebrations), that rule that Naniwa got hit by is bullshit.

Naniwa makes a probe rush and looses on purpose but gets revoked by biased judges.

Its pathetic and i hope more people boycott GSL.

totally forgot about this!!

there are so many other examples of pretty obvious game throwing too

why pick on nani? the only difference is that his match is one of the few that actually MEAN NOTHING

What about "korean tournament" do you connect to "the world"? Make sense.

Global StarLeage

It's just a name. Just like, you know, NASL doesn't stick to players from North America? It's still a tournament in Korea, run by a Korean company, with almost nothing but korean players. If you're in rome, act like the romans.

haha love these trains that are coming all the time, when naniwa was "kicked" from col everyone hated him, when his interview were out everyone loved him, and now everyone hates him again.

Noone here has their own opinion?

IMO, i think every sport needs a dark dog, and IdrA and Naniwa are those. whats e-sports without drama? -_-v

Totally fine by GOM. They have to draw a line somewhere. They want people to perform their best when they participate in their tournaments and this will ensure no one will try to throw more childish tantrums in the future.

And it has nothing to do with Naniwa as a person. Coca and Choya also got smacked down hard for silly stuff.

Forfeiting the match would be terrible sportsmanship. Probe rushing is even below that. It's a straight FU to the fans, opponent, and GOM. I'm glad GOM took the issue of professionalism seriously. Someone has to, and it's definitely not Naniwa.

Droping mules or building CC on your defeated enemy base is not? For me that is the middle finger equivalent in videogames.

Double standards everywhere...

Holy crap didn't even think about this...wow does this makes GOM look like hypocrites. I'm officially done with GSL...still.

But were those games actually played out?

This is the main thing, this wasn't a form of BM that was meant to insult the opponent in the way dropping mules is. This is BM in the way that insults the tournament and insults the viewers.

If you play for any team or any sport, you are expected to give your all no matter what your standing is, no matter how far down or far up you are. When it becomes blatantly obvious that you're not playing to win (and reaffirm that post-match), then you are not living to the professionalism that is supposed to be integral in any competition.

You must not really watch sports then...the Indianapolis Colts certainly aren't giving their all. The Chicago Cubs at the end of every year don't even play their stars.

There's a difference though. You don't actually have those players going out and saying "I gave up my match because of blah blah blah." If Naniwa had decided not to say that, things might have been different

Only because of people like you that just have to have that lip service...

User was warned for this post

I'd just love to point out how true this statement is...imagine he mothership rushed, no one would've been pissed off.

Because it would have been entertaining for the audience. What he did was nothing of the sort and no he did not have the intent to entertain if somehow you find 6 probes rush entertaining.

Just noticed naniwa's team changes. He changes teams even more than Artosis changing his favorite Protoss player.

12.2011-present Quantic
09.2011-12.2011 compLexity
01.2011-09.2011 Dignitas
11.2010-01.2011 Team Empire
11.2010-11.2010 Power Gaming
08.2010-11.2010 MyM
05.2010-08.2010 SG
... -05.2010 mTw

Its just his persona. Good at the game but hard to deal with no wonder teams just boot him out.

From a player that went mothership after it was scouted in a series he still could have won because his spirit had been crushed. Consensus from the pro community was that he intentionally threw that, and he pretty much said the same.

What a joke! Definitely not giving another dollar to GOM until they reverse this. The way I see it, he rightfully won that spot from MLG.

I guess you haven't seen alot of sport! Games that mean nothing are constantly "thrown" in professional sports and no one really cares about it. Does it really matter how you throw the game? In my eyes Naniwa was just honest instead of pretending to play a decent game.

You do realize more foreigners didnt play NASL matches right?

But those foreigners got banned for it I believe? I'm not sure :D

I do like that. Naniwa isn't one of them.

He is. He got many very solid titles to his name and put up really good games in the Blizzard Cup. I don't even know where to start.
