TvP was a piece of cake since I knew mostly what builds are good and what not, destroying them early game with all-ins is not that hard. Only matchup I felt was somewhat hard would be TvZ. But I think Bio play is really easy to play also compared to mech, which seems very hard tbh. Maybe it will become more available in HotS. Well if you can win TvP with early bio pushes you can't be in a very high league with terran. In masters that shit simply doesn't work at all. Not even trying to offend you or anything, just saying that 1 base or 2 base bio pushes are actually really ineffective vs. protoss thanks to forcefields and the trend to go early collossus tech (where you need vikings, which again take time). WELL, i dont know about that it doesnt work in masters. Im there, and i get killed by 1-1-1 all the time. People keep saying that it is figured out, but it isnt, its only figured out if you open with the fastest expand possible.. So yeah. And i get 1-1-1 pretty much every game so i guess i should just open nexus first every game, but then i probably will get 2 gated.. lol

I opened every game with conc marauder pressure. 1 marine, 2 mara, 1 reaper, 1-2 scvs. I almost always pick off the stalker mid field, then proceed to pick off zealot/sentry/probes. Reaper mainly scouts the base and does what it can. Keep it alive. Build destroys 1 Gate FE which is what I mainly went back to it for. It was known a long time ago as the Root opening :D

The reason for a lack of terrans in ladder is probably because as many other peeps have pointed out that its a really multitasking intensive race and you have to respond to your enemy all the time, (Especially in TvP) where if protoss goes for collosus U NEED to get vikings. and if he gets hts U NEED to get ghosts There is examples of this in TvZ aswell, a high baneling count and you NEED alot of tanks, high muta count and you NEED thors. Instead of beign the high micro intensive race or the high macro intensive race terran is something in between and at the same time you have to answer to alot of questions your oponent throws at you and that is probably the reason why we see them fade away. It will probably evolve to be as in brood war where terran was considerd to be the hardest race, but at least from my point of view we are not there quite yet.

Terran is a race for men, not for sissies that pack up and go zerg or protoss when things get tough.

I think you meant instead of being the high micro intensive race or the high macro intensive race you mean both. Forgetting mules leads to bad production for a while, Forgetting to make units means you will likely die if you aren't in a defensive posture, can't sit back and macro otherwise you will just get rolled because your power units are actually not very good except for mirror matchups. Units are the slowest in the game by far except for the hellion which is a glass cannon. Mess up your micro and half your army is dead, its annoying that every single thing about Terran is extremely unforgiving, it makes the other races so much more appealing.

I've noticed this trend of less and less terrans, it's sad if the game gets past the 15 min mark, every terran will strongly disagree with you I'm afraid

May be MVP can still win with current nerfs to terran and buffs to toss, but most Terrans in highest 2 leagues outside of Korea are having big problems. This, on high masters tvp is soooo hard to win against someone who goes templar tech with heavy upgrades. I switch around quite alot between races, but Z and P definately easier to win with. I just fall back to T though because I find them more fun with more versaitile strats rather than the same old boring muta or roach/ling etc..

Can't make more MMM against Protoss? Wow you suck." There. I said it. The community is very negative toward Terran players in General and this has caused me to stop playing and only watch games. Holy shit. I was going to write my own reply to this thread, but this is exactly how I feel. Minus the 'stop playing' part - but lord knows I've been tempted.

Just my opinion here: It's just that a vast majority of players would rather play with what is perceived as the strongest race, which right now isn't Terran, believe it or not. The thing is, for Terran to be strong, you have to have amazing multitask - you have to be constantly being aggressive. All the time you are not attacking in T v Z or P, you are getting behind. v P you are allowing them to get closer to the deadly collo/storm/zealot/archon composition which is almost impossible to kill late game when they can instawarp 20 zealots. v Z you are allowing them to drone hard and get an insurmountable economical advantage. Basically any time you aren't attacking, you are getting further behind. As either of the other races it is totally possible to play a purely reactive game where you take bases and defend then roll them in late game, as T you just can't do this. I feel this is why a lot of players have switched, they've hit their ceiling on multitask and realised they just can't play like a Korean T so they switch to a race that requires less multitask, and visibly better results for just having good macro mechanics which allow you to just roll your opponent with little micro required. I don't think it's imbalanced as at the highest level all the races require a lot of skill (obviously), it's just for diamond-masters players who don't usually have very good multitask you can get more wins by playing the other two races.

It's too hard, why bother. Just play baby races (zerg, protoss) and win.
