All I know is that GOM/GSL did nothing against coca. It was SlayerS that forced there player to give up his Code S spot.

You're giving us as fans way too little credit. If we weren't around to watch Naniwa play, what value would he as a skilled Starcraft 2 player have? If it wasn't our money paying to watch GOM or MLG, if it wasn't our eyes that were watching these games being played, then where does the money in this sport come from? Advertisers paying for their ads to be watched by no one? Nope. Tournaments being run when no one shows up to watch them? Nope. A video game being created if no one is going to buy them? Nope. We as fans are the backbone of e-sports, so yes, when I pay to watch someone play, I expect those players to give me respect in kind and put on a good match.

I'd rather move on to the next match with something on the line than see two players half-ass in the middle of a serious tournament, because that's what happens when the format forces them to play with no chance of advancing.
It's even worse when it happens and one player can advance while the other cannot.

Haha this is great, I was also hoping GOM would strip him of code S but actually now you've said it it would be better if they left him in so the Koreans can pick up their freewins (they only allin him every game because they know he isn't good enough to stop it), he can throw another rage tantrum and leave Korea shamed and 0-14 in GSL (I believe he is 0-12 or 0-10 now). I totally understand Nani and would probably do the same, myself I'd rather go out and get drunk rather than play useless games at that point.

I don't think they started off with that salary initially too I know the difference between Esports and football is kinda large, but in perspective, doesn't it seem similar?

I really don't like what Naniwa did, but I think that some people are overreacting

Well, if the korean community sympathized with Coca and are hating on Naniwa, then there's either a double standard going on or they are hating Naniwa because he "BM'd" Nestea, who is certainly popular in Korea (which is why I'd like to know, but thanks anyway).

I'm thorn.. On one side I can understand that the fans, stream watchers etc. wants to see an exciting game between two top players with a grudge. However, on the other side the game had nothing at stake and both players had played poorly and didn´t win a single game until this point. A BO1 between two losers aren’t that exciting for me anyway. For those that want the grudge match, I think there will be better occasions and the game will be even better then due to this. Obviously dropping games on purpose is not a good thing but we have to realize that he did not break any official rules, perhaps some ethical or sportsmanship-related ones.
It would have been nice to see a long and intense game but we know Nani isn’t going to change his behavior and his just not that into playing poorly. Unfortunate for us who want to see close and exciting games but this will make a good story anyway. And at least the SOTG and other shows will have something to dwell on..
Edit: In short: Not optimal but I want lose any sleep over it.

Nestea however for a moment got close to another awesome feat which is - not defend, and let your drones die (the first died, before he even reacted in any way). Had he done that, he would have gained the upper hand in trolling. but now Naniwa feels like the winner in this very important grudge matter.

This is exactly what it is like. As a professional competitor, you're just making a mockery of your organization and sport if you do something like this. If you don't want to play, at least just forfeit the match. There's no point in being a child about it. You don't win every game and using the excuse of not being able to show a good game is just pathetic. Do you think that the Indianapolis Colts just don't try when they go out to play a team because they are already 0-13 or whatever? Naniwa's attitude is piss poor, especially of late. I am ashamed to have him as a foreigner representing on the grandest stage in Starcraft 2.

Diamond was notified of their outrage minutes after the game was broadcasted. There is no double standard. Please do look up the thread.

I don't think people understand that in sports back when there was no money these athletes were playing their asses off, hurting, working second jobs just to feed their families. As a Canadian, I can appreciate how hard it was to survive as a hockey player back when the NHL was just 6 teams and players were getting paid squat. Yet they weren't throwing games. They had to work their asses off, through injuries, through pain, through losses, or they were cut and their sources of income were gone. They absolutely threw their hearts into playing and through that they created fantastic stories, and through those fantastic stories they drew in more and more fans, and then through the fans came sponsors, advertisers, and before anyone knew it they were paying their athletes a million dollars just to play some sports with sticks and pucks.
If every professional gamer had that same kind of mentality who knows how far e-sports could go.

I don't think you'd enjoy a tournament where the pro players don't have anything to win, especially if they were all upset and not wanting to play; they wouldn't be good matches.
It's up to GOM to provide us with entertaining matches. Not the players.

Definitely wished he stayed and played. No excuse for not giving 100% all the time at that level in my opinion. :/
