Are shooters/RTS games less good on consoles than PC? Obviously. Does that mean that every console game is just some terrible casualfest that any retard can pick up and win at in 20 minutes? No. Christ, PC elitism is annoying as fuck. Well, you must consider where the pc elitism comes from. They brag about how they have to spend less time on their game and so they have more hobbies and wear better clothes/are cooler than starcraft 2. Starcraft 2 is highly strategic, way more so than rts games or fighting games. Are they worse? of course not. But yeah if they are gonna brag about free time then we can tell them their game requires no skill. Except for the part where the post I was responding to paints every console game as shit compared to any PC game. Did you not read it? If he wanted to say that Halo doesn't require as much skill as SC2, I'd probably not have any problem with it. It's the blanket statements/elitism that are both insulting and idiotic.

Heck everyone still plays with a fight stick to be the best. No, there are quite a few pad players.

I feel bad for Halo players who also enjoy SC2 who will get painted the same color as these guys because of this video.

It was in jest at the SC2 community but they have one underlying point that is great to hear a pro on their side say. You don't have to practice much to be good at halo but you do for SC2. That says it all, one is a casual game for screwing around, one is a pro level game.
The other thing I found hilarious, they have "25 years" between the 3 of them in gaming. Well I can get with my budy and we have ...... 56 years of gaming between the two of us. I have over 28 year of gaming on my own. Yes though, they are soo experienced lol.
Ah, the current crop of kids in todays gaming world.
Long live SC2, RIP BW. in MLG. Only possible because the league hasn't been around that long. I guarantee you that they're all not like 15 lol, which they'd have to be assuming they started gaming at a decent age (and the one far left is a former pro at 15 so i KNOW he's been gaming for longer).

Just watched the apology video. Pretty funny, why did people get upset over it?
The way he said that him and Kennigit are 'not friends no more' made me laugh. Kennigit dun made him angry

Yeah, sad thing is that one's a caster, one's high level MLG shit (forget what he does), and one works in production and used to cast parttime. They're not random trolls, they're actually deep in the MLG organization.
I don't take issue with what they said (obviously a joke, as anyone who made it past 3 minutes could tell), it's that it's so unprofesisonal looking compared to other esports broadcasts.
I can't stress enough that IT'S A JOKE, something that half the people here seem to be missing.

I don't give a crap about what IdrA does on his day off, or NaDa's secret modelling career outside of SC.
This apology video is less of an "apology" and more of a "we're not gonna apologize" video. Which makes it seems less like what may have started as a joke is now maybe just a little more of a middle finger to the SC2 community.
On the otherhand, they do have a point though. We always bash console games and Halo in general. It's a dying community that constantly get's hated on by us. But the one time they make a joke in passing against us, we all get up in arms. And one of the points that that they gave- if we really think so low of Halo, why do we even care? Why do we deign to respond?

Also something I noticed. The Halo community seems to be leaving him out in the cold now. Thats whats he has been saying anyways. He has metioned that the gow community wouldn't leave him out in the cold but the Halo community did. ITs funny now he is getting punished by the Halo community too. I don't think he'll have a job by the end of this.

Seems like the style comment hit a nerve with people I pretty much agree, except for the korean starcraft community (includes Jinro) there is not a lot of style going around. Most players look like they just do not give a fuck when it comes to what they wear, like Naniwa and his sweat pants at MLG.
About relationship with other games: To be honest I will not spend an ounce of energy trying to help other games grow. I feel no responsibility for ESPORTS, if a game is good and I like it I will watch it and support it, but I will not care about other games just to help ESPORTS. That is just stupid.

Is it just me or was their apology video not an apology. They say they were not joking, but they really need to work on their joking. Also, I feel like this would have been a lot better if their personalities were not like they were. They acknowledged they don't have the best personalities and they are not helping their case by making videos like this. I can't take them serious for what they are and how they act. I will continue to have respect for players in the Halo community and other console games, but as for these guys I cannot really have respect for them.
Also, they should have realized that video would have this type of response.
edit: also if they want to get more respect for their community they should not be the ones who do it with videos like this. they clearly need to work on how they talk. not trying to be mean but thats my observation

It's true, Halo players generally trendier than most Starcraft players. Who gives a shit about vanity though :S

These guys are trolling hard, and some people will bite. Don't be that guy.

taht's halo dont worry
In all seriousness, I think these are just some guys who are sad and jealous about the fall of halo and rise of sc2 and expressed this very poorly. None of their points make much sense at all.

edit- ^OP should really be edited to emphasize that they were joking...the points aren't meant to be good.

how can they possibly say sc players have no style? have you seen bisu/jaedong?

its not like the first person shooter community is getting less, its the same, its just that starcraft 2 much bigger..thus creating the impression the other scenes are dieing when in truth the other games are only being overshadowed .. If they want to complain about that, they have to go straight to the devs of their games and tell them what to do to make the esport scene better.
what makes a better esport scene? a less casual game aka starcraft.. It did a huge trade off for having less players but a bigger esport scene, compared to games like call of duty that bring in the most players but cause its so casual the esport scene is a joke. People say league of legends is doing well and they like to quote this "one time" where they had 300k viewers, but im yet to see a fucking live audience give a damn about that game. As a matter of fact if they want to quote there best viewing figures, starcraft 2 had 700K viewers when boxer debuted in the gsl , it crashed gomtv.
so it always makes me laugh when a scene complains that there esport scene is not doing well but they say " o look we have more players than you".. Thats the fucking trade off.

Are these the people that lead the Halo Community? I don't care if theyre joking around, because they will never be taken seriously. We should be aiming to make all gaming communities professional as to give every game credibility in the mainstream.

It's not about games like Street Fighter that can work perfectly on any system. PC elitism exists (in this context) because they are taking a genre that has evolved to be played with perfect keyboard+mouse controls and suddenly devolved to a control set that just doesn't work with it. FPS on consoles are laughable as competitive games because they rely heavily on aids for the players to overcome the lack of precision.
It would be like having a version of SC2 played with gamepads, where the cursor positions itself on the Colossi when you give the attack command to your Vikings.
There are so many games on consoles that could be considered for serious comptetitive professional play. Halo and CoD aren't them.

I say fuck it. E-sports is gonna collapse if it's fragmented like it is. We as a community need to be the bigger men here and start embracing things like Halo and Cod.
Yes I know, it's like a basefall fan telling a hockey fan he needs to watch baseball.
But at the same time... it totally isn't like that. Hockey and baseball are here to stay? Are e-sports? Only time will tell, but if we're ALL shitting on them from the get-go (and let's face it, we all shit on those other e-sports too), it's not gonna happen.
