So after being constantly cheesed on ladder (diamond player european server) I've decided to create this thread where people can warn all the other players of the cheesers on their servers.
But first lets get down to the basics- what is cheesing in Starcraft 2? Well, cheesing is using a strategy that works at abusing the games weaknesses and gameplay flaws in order to beat your opponent. This takes very little skill and can be performed by anyone.
So what I'd like for you as the forum to do is post the cheesers name and additional details that you want to. For example:
Name: Polotenchik League: Diamond Server: Europe Race: Protoss
So now anyone who goes up against this player will know that he is a cheeser and can be prepared.
I'm sure that everyone can agree being cheesed isn't fun, and for the players that cheese they will never become good and play just for points. (which I don't know about you but I think its just douchey)
I just feel that Starcraft 2 does not need these players as they add nothing but anger and frustration to those they cheese. This isn't what starcraft is about, sure everyone wants to win but it shouldn't be like that to an extent where people do something that abuses the actual game and upsets other people just for points.

I don't think that this is needed unless you also decide to make a "Macro-List" thread. Seriously, who cares?
|
The list would be way too big, this is pointless.
Plus, almost everyone cheeses from time to time.
|
Cheesing is a part of the game, deal with it
|
ooh cool- but honestly everyone cheeses once in a while =] straight up play is fun- but after you get cheesed like 3 games in a row- then you cheese a couple times too... so i really dont think this thread is that useful.
|
Cheese is part of the game.
All good players cheese sometimes.
Just because you get cheesed on ladder by some guy doesn't mean that person is a cheesy player.
And even if they are, it's a chance for you to practice your anti-cheese.
This thread is pointless.

Game's Weaknesses?
Slayers_Boxer GM NA Terran
etc.
Not the best thread idea, what're you going to do, go through a spreadsheet when you're loading every time? -_-
|
this cannot end well. but deezer and combatx are the cheesing gods.
|
The only problem with this is that EVERYONE cheeses at some point or another. How do you know you just didnt play a person who's on a bad losing streak so decided to cheese for an easy win? Maybe he plays a macro game in every other game.
Also, who's going to remember everyone they read on this list, and then recognize them on ladder...

Yep, just learn to defend the cheeses.
If you get cheesed a lot, at least you're getting plenty of practice
|
I think you should think of cheese as a legitimate part of the game and that when you lose to cheese is entirely your fault so you need to be better prepared for it. Going against someone who's cheesing with the mindset that cheese isn't valid is not the way you should be thinking about playing this game.
|
I'm 0-2 against this guy named Kesutny who does nothing but cannon rush
|
Cheeses are easy wins if you scout...?
|
Cheese is a major and important part of the game. Knowing how to deal with it correctly is a must-have ability and takes a lot of practice. In other words - stop whining and get better.
|
Good luck, buddy. There's too damned many of us. But if you want to go to the effort, here's another frequent cheeser:
Name: MisterFred League: Masters Server: NA Race: Random
Be warned. I don't cheese 100% of the time.

And that's the ugly cycle of cheese. We must find the first cheeser and stake him.
|
Even if this idea was plausible and useful, those who cheesed would just stop cheesing when people are expecting them to. WRAP YOUR MIND AROUND THAT!

This isn't what cheese is.

Completely pointless thread.

List is too big to compile, everyone cheeses, figure out openings that help you blindly defend and you'll move up quickly =D

So we should stake Boxer? I think of him as the first cheeser, because he popularized the bunker rush, unless I am mistaken?

The idea of this thread is humourous, but its not really a good idea. Firstly because there are too many cheesers to keep track of as well as the fact that most people throw out the occasional cheese every so often anyway. Secondly knowing that a cheese is coming kind of defeats the purpose of improving against cheese play, which is what will help you defeat cheesers.
|
Can you please make a thread about people who FE as protoss? So we know what to do when we meet that guy!
+ Show Spoiler +This thread is so pointless and only a result of a angry nerd who can't deal with cheese.

Your definition of cheese would make Idra proud. Seriously, knock off this attitude and deal with it like a boss. If you knew how to defend cheese you would be masters probably. Start with scouting even more, you are probably a bit too rigid in your approach to the game if some strats surprise you so often.

I like how the banner ad above this thread is showing Chuck E. Cheese restaurants.

But the reason cheese works is because you don't expect it? There is a reason we pros play best of 3/5/7 in any professional event. If someone 6 pools their way to grandmasters(see the recent thread), did they do it because they rarely have to play against the same player twice?
But the list is a bad idea, so many people to list. I think cheese is part of the game, but losing a player who is clearly worse than you, but willing to flip a coin sucks.

Let me define idiot: Well, an idiot is someone who knows about strategies that abuse gameplay weaknesses and flaws that can be performed by anyone but chooses not to use them.
