Since this whole topic degenerated into the usual balance flamefest where every topic ends up if unmoderated it's time for it to clean up. Locking this down for a while. Any posts made after my post [page 233] not addressing the changes in this patch directly and containting flames or general balance whine will get banned for at least a week. ~Nyovne

Its a well needed buff for protoss I think. Zerg isnt supposed to go mass infestors its supposed to be a support unit not a unit to mass and with mass fungals + NP on all collosus or archons was way to good.

But I think going another way would maybe be better like hivetech for NP + shorter range. I dont really se NP ever gonna be resarched vs protoss anymore.

stephano did it to some other top tier protoss (maybe mana) and he rolled him over with it. Stephano made something like 15-20 infestors

the amount of times you see another zerg with mass infestors, and the person is not destiny is probably like 100 games to 1. Also 2 obsolete units is more that colossi/storm is just way better then carriers, and if this change goes through then mothership won't be useless at all PvZ.

I like the neural change the more I think about it. Especially vs protoss, PvZ being the worst matchup at the moment.
Zergs will have to fungal+carpet bane the colossi balls, which is powerful enough as is. I think neural was cool, but in the current state of the game it'll be a welcome help which will allow protoss to win some games vs zergs.

vs terran I don't know, perhaps it'll make mech op.

It's a minor change anyway, even if neuraling massive units was the major use of neural, most of the time it wasn't needed to win.

At least blizzard making zvp simpler for zerg if these changes go through. 90 percent of your army will be roaches and flying roaches again. Good times.

So, how is zerg supposed to deal with Archons now? They already destroy everything but broodlords with even cost. What is zerg gonna do against mothership? We will just get rolled since we don't have any anti caster like a ghost or HT who can take the energy away from the mothership. If this change goes through Zerg will have it nearly impossible to win in lategame vs Protoss.

Also what was not fair about infestors taking over battlecruisers/carriers/broodlords? Imo the change should only affect Colossi/Thors, everything more than that basically makes neural parasite useless in most real game scenarios.

Mothership buff is just acceleration. Infestors kill most of toss units with the same number of shots.

Fungal + Roach and laugh your way to victory

And archons are 300 gas. Remember that zerg has a superior economy and protoss needs to be cost effective to have a chance.

hmmm this NP seems to be hard to call. it gives zerg little option but it forces zergs to go mass roaches and lategame ultras which intern forces mass immortal. They decided that since collisi cant be neuraled, infestors will deal with more void rays/immortals vs roaches and ultras. this time they didnt remove an upgrade from the game! thanks i can say this far lol but we will have to see how this works out.

lol so much crying in this thread! i didnt even cry this much when they took amulet away from HT's!!!!! (which is the biggest nerf us toss' have had).

I'm really really happy with this patch, can't complain about a thing and the neural parasite nerf is absolutely brilliant. It was one of the things that made nerf alittle OP, NP'ing collo's and archons our anchor unit would just end up with toss' armies getting owned.

People are saying that it is unfair because the Infestor has too much utility... but have a look at the rest of their arsenal. Every other unit is pretty much single purpose.

I definitely don't think this the case for Terran, MANY of their units are multi purpose / utility. Very few of them have "specific" uses.

I don't understand why you would try to take away from the game to fix balance issues. Just makes the game more stale imo - NPs are awesome to watch in a big battle and quite micro intensive compared to say... corruptors :/

I don't think it will affect ZvT vs mech that much. You can still NP tanks + the "NP'ed units retain upgrades" fix should make it still quite scary.
Add in the blueflame nerf, and the fact that Mech is still immobile as shit, and it should be ok

That neural nerf must be a joke, they cant do it because of zvp. Colossi armies are already insanely hard to stop and very easy to use for a protoss player, and now you cant even mindcontrol them any longer+ fungal nerf will make the deathball what is was at the start of this year again: hard to beat, easy to use.

Glad to see more nerfs to Infestors. I normally don't like to complain about balance but this will help with my Colossus usage, sorta.
