EG's IdrA's slot will be filled with someone else in the #SC2 Cologne Global Challenge. We will have news about it soon. - IntelEM on Twitter Source
Looks like EGIdrA won't be at GamesCom - I'm saddened, will update thread when they've announced why.
His group consisted of Empire.Kas, BeastyQT and oGs`SK`MC...thoughts on who could replace him?
No point in watching it now
meh
User was warned for this post

there was a big chance he wouldnt get out of the group anyway

I hope you are fucking kidding...

Who gives a shit? Strelok is going to destroy everyone anyway.
Looking how the tournament starts on wednesday, I'd expect IdrA is going to replaced by somebody German. Perhaps Goody? Could be a Dutch player too.
He wasn't going to making it out of that group anyway. Good decision for him.
Why does this even warrant its own thread really. Nothing to see here, move along.

then probably a zerg: darkforce, delphi or xlord
That sucks, he definitely would of made it out of his group, MC is hard, but the other 2 are easy for him.
There was no way Idra was gonna do well anyway :p.
Just a lil bit late to leave it. Must have missed his plane or something stupid.
hahahaha ofc he doesnt want to play mc again :D:D:D or at least it wouldnt be surprising... but seriously lets hope its not a real issue like health issues or orivate probs.... at least now iem stands for intel extreme manners )))

Need I say more? ^^"

tbh I have never bought into this EG mystery announcement shenanigans...but IdrA cancelling IEM is serious business
I am upset
Please give at least a reson!!! It feels like Demuslim suddenly not attending Dreamhack, good thing we know his reasons by now and hopefully we get to know Idra's reasons as well.
I was really looking forward to Idra at Gamescom. Why does this always happen right before a tournament starts!?
Too scared of MC?
For once he shows good GG timing

EGHuK? lol I kid.
Ummm, There are some top Europeans missing. White-Ra?
IdrA is not better than the average european pro nowadays, but he's a character and I'll miss him. I wonder what made him cancel. :/
Since it's at such a short notice I guess only players from Germany or players who are already there are possible.
I guess it's Hasuobs, Darkforce or one of these players who play XMG tournament at Gamescom http://www.esl.eu/eu/sc2/xmg_series/season2/finals/rankings/. Maybe Dimaga most likely cause he's Zerg?!
guess he saw he is in group with MC
Honesly I'm not a reallly a fan of his and the only time I like to watch is when he is losing and follows up with a rage quit. Makes me smile Throw Sheth in there, he is a nice guy and a good zerg player. I think it'd be a good switch *shrug*
That sucks balls.. I wanted to visit the GC because of the Idra games =7
Is he needed? Sorry but I can do what him. But I do want another zerg.
Why? -__- I always like seeing idra play
What would make EG pull him out of it? Yeah its a hard group, but hes been through plenty of it. This was EG's decision, not Idras. Wonder why he isn't gonna be playing.
t.t!! such a last second announcement
He would probably have brought some American viewers, but in terms of game skill the tournament takes no loss due to this, though I would have liked to see him rematch vs MC. Hope they find a cool substitute!
Shame, not so much because of his play, but he is a "fun" character to have around.
I hope he is not quitting or taking a break of sorts, and just simple has other things to do and could not attend IEM.
Whatever you think of Grack, everyone likes having him around, either to boo or to cheer

It's not outside the realm of possibility that he's staying State side for something. Or came down with the flu and can't fly. Everyone is just guessing at the moment.
dont think idra is that good tbh but its sad.... i bet the replacement is going to be another european not that think europeans are bad but i would like to see more variety for a global challenge! now its basically europe vs korea
Would be nice if they could get Dimaga to replace him. But I doubt it since it would be too short of notice to travel. However, looking at the zergs already in the tournament I don't think there are really any European zergs left who are on the same level as as Idra or Dimaga.
No hope for a zerg to win it.
Very sad news, hopefully they can find a great replacement.

No hope for a zerg to win it. dimaga will be there for another tournament, same as mana
Does this has anything to do perhaps with the mystery announcement? Is Idra going to retire?
Pretty bad news for IEM since IdrA always bring hype in tournaments.
Especially considering that MC was in his pool
That's a very early gg even by Idra's standards!
i think he's getting merried
Maybe he wants to practice for the upcoming MLG, travelling makes you lose time and practice, so he pulled out?

I wish he was staying with me. x]
+ Show Spoiler +idra nooooo.. iem just got a lot less fun ;;

Lol I hope when MC gets interviewed he will say Idra dodged him out of fear. The fanboys will be outraged!
I'm guessing that traveling to Europe and then back and then trying to play in Raleigh so soon after is not something he wants to do. I think we've all the seen the problems with travel time affecting practice and routine as well as jet lag issues.
He might just be hunkering down and trying to really focus on MLG. Too many tournaments and travel might have been affecting his play.
On August 15 2011 23:57 dartoo wrote: Maybe he wants to practice for the upcoming MLG, travelling makes you lose time and practice, so he pulled out? This. He was in the EG house for barely a week, and then he's off to blizzard invitational, IEM and MLG. He would have had no time to get the practice that he needs in the EG house before MLG.
who is oGs`SK`MC?
I know of oGs-TLMC o.O
Lol I hope when MC gets interviewed he will say Idra dodged him out of fear. The fanboys will be outraged
From what I understood, they are good friends. MC just does that in public.
On August 15 2011 23:57 dartoo wrote: Maybe he wants to practice for the upcoming MLG, travelling makes you lose time and practice, so he pulled out? That was my first assumption as well. The IEM prize pool isn't exactly staggering, so he shouldn't feel too bad about passing it up.
Its very likely that its because it would mean he would have almost no practice time for the next 3 weeks, as gamescom would mean him flying out there then immediately back to the states for MLG. 3 Events in as many weekends is rather exhausting and would put him in bad condition.
That was premature, even for him :o

did idra premature gged or gged at the right time? wonder what the reason is.

Is this worthwhile of a thread? Idra also won't be attending my friend's wedding.

To address everyone PMing me: Post this news in the existing IEM thread and the existing Idra Fan Club.
We don't need a new thread whenever someone is or is not attending an event.
