15/20k€ a year isn't that bad for playing starcraft all day long :>

And you have to eat? 15k is fucking awful, its $7.21/hr. I think that might even be below minimum wage... I was going to say the same thing. I mean, 15k might be okay if you're living with your parents or have a few roomates to split rent with but you're not going to be living 'comfortably' around here on that kind of salary without some help. And this is one of the cheapest places to live in the country (Northern Maine).

Select is currently the top terran on the American ladder. Maybe they could get Select in their team. I would be very sad for Dignitas.

So imagine how much worse it is when you've just wasted the first few years of what should have been your working life, and you're that much further behind in buying a house, etc.

With rent, transportation, food, internet provided by a team in the US that's 15k they can blow on booze and texting fan girls. Sound pretty good for a 21 year old kid.
And stop the US vs the world debate. Now.
Agreed, it's like living at home with a 15k allowance and your parents are paying for all your living arrangements. Sweet deal if you ask me.

Maybe EG asked Startale to change their logotype to something ridiculous so fans would want the teams to merger.
Maybe the EG-logo inside the star?

You can get quite a handful by streaming enough... Yeah but it seemed like he was talking about salary/sponsors etc. Yes, I was. I'm quite positive that players like Idra and Puma and probably DeMuslim get quite generous salaries from EG, if I were to take a guess, I'd say around 50k a year on average. Which would be a lot of burger flipping. I can understand Idra and Puma getting decent salaries (15-30k), but why would DeMuslism be so high? Also, the lower EG players would be nowhere near as close. I still think 50k is a bit high. The EG cs team probably doesn't even make half of that salary, per player. 15-20k isn't decent. 30k is "decent". 40-50k is where an individual would likely want to be who is in the 20-25 age range and doesn't have a family. By "want to be" I mean that as living -very- comfortably alone while having plenty of money to still pay bills and throw around. 20-30k doesn't really cut it. Most salary pro gamers do not make very much. For most players salary just means monthly income. 15-30k is decent, considering most do not have a lot of bills to pay and/or delay college, etc. 15k is trash per year. What are you going to do with 15k a year? That's roughly 1250 a month. That's definitely not enough to live alone, have a car payment, pay car insurance. pay phone bills, things like that. I can see what you're saying about pro gamers not making very much, but when you take a step back and look at what making 15k a year really means, you can't help but realize why someone would want to jump from a 15k a year salary to a 30-40k a year salary. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minimum_wage_in_the_United_StatesLiterally millions of people live on *under* 15k a year. And that's in the world's richest country. Don't even get me started on poor countries. Some Americans are so goddamn spoiled. LOL America, a rich country? Their GDP is near 15trillion. China is next, at around 7.5trillion. Their debt could be paid off in a year if they had to. You need to look at GDP per capita. Otherwise it can just be a poor ass country with a few super rich guys with too many gold minerals while the rest of the population wallows in poverty.

That is 100% true. Any 20-25year old with no responsibilities or family to feed can make a living with 15-20k dollars a year IN FRICKIN NIGERIA. Try that in the US and you will be off to flippin burgers in no time. I am a 22 year old on between 75,000 and 100,000 AUD a year, I have no responsibilities, and that is not including my travel bonuses. its really not that much money its more about how well someone manages the money they are given, Also to those people who say something along the lines of "in other countries people live on less" that might be true but you would have to see what the average income of the country is compared to the cost of what is considered staple in that country because I can say right now out of every country I have been to that Australia has one of the most expensive staple foods and eating out costs. I would have to say that its pretty much just Russia(Moscow) which is more expensive.
I have no idea how you can sit there and say that 75-100k AUD is "not really that much money."
I can live comfortably in Sweden in a one room apartment for just over 15000 USD per year, because I don't spend my money on stupid shit I don't need. You must be absolutely horrible at managing the money you are given, because if you think it's not a lot of money, you need to wake up.
Well, I am gonna say Sweden is a much cheaper country not unlike most of Europe to live in than Australia, but that aside, it costs about 450/week for rent for me but that's a two bedroom but if I was to go for a one bedroom it would still be about 300 not including petrol which for me is about $80Au a week then there is also food (I will admit I could live cheaper here) I spend at least $30 a day. plus the taxes in Australia for someone earning as much as me is about 30% so my actual income is somewhat lower it would be 50-66k/year on tax not including the 10% tax on almost everything you buy.
