Holy mother of destruction.. ONLY 4 GUNS, one of them an automatic assault rifle? Call me a liberal or whatever but why would you ever need that kinda weaponry for self defense?
AK-47's are not sold standard as automatic.
Jesus Christ people. This is just stupid. This is a WHAT GUN DO YOU OWN THREAD, not a WHY GUNS ARE BAD. I dont go into the anime thread and make fun of them for watching cartoons, because I dont get it and I'm not going to bother with it. If you think guns are bad, stay the fuck out of the thread.
I own a pip-squeet .22, .45 ACP, a .38 revolver, and a mosin nagant from my grandfather.
Firstly where did I say that guns are bad? ( i mean i think they are but i didnt really say that). Secondly i stated a question. Do you "gun nuts" just have those things as decoration, use them at the shooting range, or actually use them what they would be intended to do - defending yourself, your family and your home? I mean sure if you go to the shooting range or shoot for sport, but actually having an arsenal like that at home? [opinion] I would be scared shitless that my kid or some other guy would go and get it. For me anything else than a handgun is way overboard. [/opinion]
Because I live in Canada my guns serve me 3 main purposes: Recreation, home defense and defense in any potential catastrophic situation. If I lived in the US I would conceal carry a handgun but that is illegal here in Canada.
Don't own any, have no desire to purchase them. People from my office used to be issued revolvers twenty years ago (as an image+self defense thing) but it was overwhelmingly unpopular, so they decided to stop issuing them and told the few diehards who really wanted them to buy their own.
Nowadays, crime in the city is so much lower that it's pretty much inconceivable that we'd ever be issued handguns - I guess it's just a sign of how far NYC has come since the 80's.

I grew up around guns and have learned to use and store them responsibly. I understand how someone who's only exposure to guns is through Hollywood movies and news stories about gangbangers could be scared of them but that's really not what they are.
I ain't scared or anything of guns, but point and press and you've taken a life? What's not to be afraid of...
Or shot a hole through a target.
Or, yes, perhaps you've killed someone. Perhaps that person was trying to kill you? This is not something gun owners take lightly, and it seems as if you do not understand that.

Funny, cause I think that Hollywood movies and games tend to portray guns as "cool". You see your COD4 character reloading at top speed and spraying a whole clip with pinpoint accuracy and you think: fuck yeah I could do that too.

Are you afraid of cars? What about drugs? They both kill vastly more people every day than guns. Also, I think its a bit facetious to be so scared of guns if your neighbor owns a small arm, but couldn't blink twice if your Government owns nuclear weapons, tanks, fighter planes, bombers, ICBM's, etc.
The State killed 260,000,000 people in the 20th Century and yet people are worried about their neighbor owning an AR-15. That is just silly.

Responsibility is key when owning a gun. Follow all the gun safety rules and use a little common sense and guns are very safe. The only way a gun malfunction can cause injury is if you grossly abuse your gun.

I totally understand, it's just that mr. OsoVega said they're not scary, but they infact really are, anyways sort of ontopic, going to the military in two weeks where i'll be shooting with a HK416 and loads of other weapons, but mainly; Barrett 50cal the sound that rifle makes is insane.
this isn't a debate thread... it's post guns you own and plan to own.

i really wanna get something chambered in .22lr cuz the ammo is so cheap. 5.56x45 rounds here are like 50 cents a piece.
Well I "owned" one of these here in the austrian army (I am not going to post a picture with me and a steyr aug, I am not nuts) -
- but I would never store a gun in my house and I do not want my neighbours to store a gun in their house either. For the eventual zombie apocalypse, this would be my weapon of choice though. (maybe ironsight)

The HK416 looks pretty fun! The Barrett actually does scare me, because that thing is fucking VICIOUS.
Anyway, I didn't see what he'd said. Apologies for not reading everything. I wouldn't say guns themselves are scary, but misuse can be for sure. More than anything people are scary. People that misuse guns would do the same thing the use the guns for without a gun if they couldn't have one, unfortunately.

You're going to have to look pretty hard to find many homicides, assaults, robberies, burglaries, extortions or menacings where drugs, cars, tanks, nuclear weapons, fighter planes or bombers are used instead of handguns.
Why are there so many posters state their location to be China?
Firearm possession is a pretty big crime there.
probably just people choosing random places as their location though....or maybe you guys are all gun launderers...or part of the Chinese military/police
