why the heck would anyone want a 7.62mm joke that you cannot even aim with lolol
because you can bury it in mud, run it over with a hummer, pick it up, cock it back and fire it like it was brand new.
oh right. good call i forgot how durable those bas****s were. we were kinda allowed to try it but not like drop it . never really tried screwing over a weapon

1.) Interesting. Source?
2.) I feel like unless you were an extremely experienced shooter and also a fucking cyborg, shooting 10 rounds from a .50 Barrett in under 10 seconds would rip your arm off.
3.) Shooting isn't easy, and I'm pretty sure you'd have a hard time shooting a fucking air plane.
1.) id give you the souce, but it was a couple years ago and i have no idea where i read about it.
2.) barrett is extremely easy to shoot
3.) they shoot it as it is taking off on the run way, not hard when you are wearing a ghillie suit and are quite close to the plane. its not like they were going to snipe it out of the sky...the plan was to shoot it down at a runway that the plane takes off and goes off over a cliff somewhere in the united states not sure which airport runway ends with the cliff but it goes out onto the ocean...or something like that. and firing 20+ shots from 2 of these rifles you're bound to hit the plane with at least 1 shot, and that's all it takes. considering they are designed to disable a TANK

TBH I bet some of our sharpshooters could shoot a plane out of the sky. British and American snipers can make some AMAZING shots..
Guys what do you actually do with them? Do they allow assault rifles at a shooting range, and/or do you just go to the woods and shoot at trees (can you do that btw legally, I mean outside designated shooting ranges)?
It seems like a well expensive hobby and I'd be pretty pissed to have an M4A1 and and not be able to shoot at stuff
Btw I'd buy this baby if they allowed it, you know to compensate for my my lack of manliness (I mean the bigger Magnum)
I just have my BlasTech DH-11 because anything bigger draws too much attention. I just got a T-21 imperial standard issue but I think it needs a new plasma core (anyone know who sells those, these days? I used to get them from a shop on Alderaan, but you know).
I'm selling a used DH17 short carbine if anyone is interested, 67% durability remaining, 4500 credits obo

why would you do that?
i dunno, they did it on top 10 best weapons of all time. ak-47 was #1. ive heard stories of soldiers in afghanistan picking up ak's because they are more reliable than the standard issue m16, if less accurate who cares, it fires a bigger round, and think about how much spare ammo is left laying around over there.
until the scar-h and scar-L are standard issue i think alot of soldiers will start using ak-47's because of the ease of use and reliability.
also the scar-H and scar-L are capable of picking up different sized rounds and firing them example: u have 1 clip of 7.62 and one clip of 5.56, you can empty the first clip, and then pop in the second clip and shoot different rounds. extremely versatile, lightweight, and powerful

That's funny, because the longest shot in history was like 1.25 miles, where 1.5 kilometers is roughly that I believe. Also, barrets are not easy to shoot. Also, you can not shoot 10 shots in 10 seconds accurately from a mother fucking barrett .50 cal. Not to mention Air Force 1`s airbase is pretty much locked downs for 4-5 miles around it. Also, unless you have a source you are full of bullshit.
Hint: go watch some WWII aerial combat footage. Note that those are .50 caliber machine guns with armor piercing incendiary rounds (not ball ammo, as is commonly available) and 20-37mm cannons they are shooting at airplanes. Also note how many rounds it can take for many planes to actually go down under said hail of fire.
Longest recorded sniper kill was made at 2.47km with a bolt action rifle firing .338 Lapua (the infamous Arctic Warfare Magnum from Counter-Strike, actually). Which works out to 1.53 miles.
A professor of mine used to teach on an Air Force base during the end of the cold war. One of his students told him about a Soviet pilot who had flown south and landed in S.Korea to defect. He was quite an asset to the TOP GUN program because he could fly like a real soviet. During a briefing where the Soviet pilot was present he was asked, "So what are USSR's invasion plans for America?" The Soviet pilot scoffed and replied, "We will fight you abroad, but never a land invasion of America, your populous is too well armed."
We have such a heavily armed citizenry that it deters violence here in Texas. In fact in Houston a man witnessed a robbery in progress at his next door neighbor's and stopped it, killing both the robbers. A grand jury dropped the charges of murder. What message does this send to thugs? Don't rob that neighborhood, because the neighbors will shoot you even if the residents aren't home. I like that.
Sorry OP, I don't think it's possible to have a thread purely about guns themselves. I get tired banning people who can't resist bringing gun politics into this thread.
