I've been trying for a while to get my class 3 (automatic weapons/suppressor/silencer) license so I can get a P90 for target shooting and as a conversation piece. I've also sold a lot of my pistols (5 in the last year) because my gun-safe (Liberty-Franklin model) was getting full and I needed the money.
Shooting is a great hobby with a safe and responsible following. We aren't the people who commit gun crimes. + Show Spoiler +I actually have some similar guns to you. My dad, his brothers and I keep all of our guns in my dad's gun closet. All in all we have a good dozen rifles and shotguns. I only own a browning rifle and a remington shotgun. We also have 2 compound bows. I enjoy hunting pheasant with guns, but real men hunt the deer, elk and bear with bows. Remington 12 gauge + Show Spoiler +Remington 20 gauge (mine) + Show Spoiler +Browning 30-06 (mine is black with a scope) + Show Spoiler +Pure Sex + Show Spoiler +I use my guns to fire at the gun range and occasionally to hunt. I used to use my bow at the archery range, but now I don't use it anymore. It just sits sexily in the gun closet. I'm a little surprised this thread has a lot of pages. I've never been all THAT interested in guns but my gosh that Remington 20 gauge is beautiful... Do you have any double barreled shotguns to your liking?

mg3 was most fun. followed by p8 & g3. g36 felt like a toy gun. almost no knockback.
really want to shoot an ak47

I think I'm actually going to get a G3. I've always wanted one and always thought it was a sexy assault rifle.

EDIT: I'm thinking of buying a K98 and a Chinese AK47.

When I was little my dad made me a custom 22mm rifle, which was accurately nicknamed "RabitSlayer". I have a Lee Enfield, and my father has a Springfeild

I suppose you mean .22 rifle, otherwise the term RhinoSlayer would be more appropriate :-)

Wow, I'm genuinely shocked by the sheer vitriol being poured out by some of the posters here...totally uncalled for.

When you have a gun in your house its a higher chance that you kill a friend than a robber

Man I wish I lived in the States when I see a thread like this I miss going to the range

I don't any guns and I don't really want to own one, but I've always wanted to know how expensive it is. What does an Ak47 cost for example? :-)!
I think I couldn't even afford one-____-;... Really some nice custom guns in this thread. Gotta love the Desert Eagle °°!

cause we've been gunless for so long we've become idiots in handling them properly. you can kill yourself and hurt others with a knife as well, a hammer a pin, a needle, pills, a baseball bat, a saw, a brick, let's ban those too.

so that if someone tries to fuck you, you have other options and other leverage than bending over and taking it.
so that "weak" people can defend themselves even against "strong" people.
so that any overpowering entity has to overcome another obstacle, resulting in decentralization of power and reuduce likelihood of rampage shootings, and police states obstructing people's right to do as they please as long as they don't step on others' right to do as they please.
would you rather try to infiltrate an unarmed store or a maximum security prison? why is that? because of the potential blowback. then the prison doesn't get messed with. same principle for people who are armed.
and if one armed person tries to mess with another, it stops before they can go on a rampage shooting. it's like a piranha trying to eat another piranha rather than a coyote in a flock of chickens: there's like a 100 other piranhas to keep you in check, and thus arises and implicit code of conduct without any organization due to sheer self-interest and distribution of power.
the simple fact is the guy with a gun > guy without a gun. guy with a gun is not > guy with a gun.

I enjoy target shooting and don't have an issue with people owning firearms. Obviously it's a very heated issue on both sides, regardless of where the people are from. I would imagine many people in favor live in the United States as we have the Second Amendment.
For those of you not from the US or terribly familiar with the politics within US we not only have laws regarding firearms on a federal (national) level but also on a state level as well. For the federal side of things see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_law_in_the_United_States. For the state level see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_laws_in_the_United_States_(by_state). Some states have very strict laws and others don't.
I hope this will not only educate you on where Americans are coming on this subject from but also make you more familiar with how our "so crazy I'm shocked it sort of works" system of government.

Dont own guns but, handsguns suck in accuracy. I could hardly hit a man sized target from 15m (45ft) but I could hit a palm sized target reliably from 150m (450ft) with a AK-47 based assault rifle.
|
I own a Glock 20 (10 mil), Benelli 12 and 20 gauge, Springfield 30/06, Winchester 300 mag, and an AR-15.
|
My gun is the pride of my life. I also love shooting people with it. Actually, guns fascinate me so much that I have plans on buying more of these bad boys, just to have them lying around in different areas of the house incase someone unwanted enters the house. Did I mention I love shooting people?
Here is the beauty: + Show Spoiler + + Show Spoiler +On a more serious note, do people realize guns are designed to hurt and kill? People's fascinations with guns is one of the things that disgusts me the most in this world ಠ.ಠ

I'd be willing to bet Ted Kennedy's Car has killed more people than all the gun owners and their guns in this thread combined.
I own a 7mm Rem Mag for deer 12 Gauge with a 3" choke for turkey, My grandpa's old carbine from when he passed away. (we don't shoot it, but it is a cool piece of history to have. I also have a mini-14 which we use for varmints. .357 magnum for sport shooting, haven't yet tried it on any game. A couple more shotguns in the gun case. Not keen as to what at the moment, alot of them inherited from my grandpa, but all in working order.
If we had a home intruder (burglar), I probably wouldn't fight back. Its best to give him what he wants, double time. Chances are, hes probably just looking for valuable shit to steal, and is more scared as I am. Only when he starts coming into rooms after a verbal warning does he get buckshot.

My arms are the only guns I will ever own, because I'm a man.
|
Since this isn't a discussion thread - and as stated before a rather extreme cultural difference beetween the US and the rest of the world, let me put it this way:
I do not own a gun right now.
I plan to NEVER EVER own any gun.
