Why do you play the race you play?

I've been having real trouble ever since the release of SC2 deciding on which race to play. Lately, I've been switching alot between Protoss and Zerg as I try and find the race which suits me best. (I've definitely ruled out Terran, I hate that race with a passion.) I have been getting really frustrated with myself, as I keep promising to stick to one race to practice and get good at, but then I'll see a cool play in a GSL game from HuK, Fruitdealer or another god like figure in their respective race and switch right back.

So my question to you is, why do you play the race you play? Hopefully if I hear some reasons that I can also relate to, I will finally choose a race and be done with it. Maybe even Terran. Thanks.

I like playing zerg because I find the other races boring. Nothing fancy about mindlessly doing build X. Zerg is way more challenging in my opinion.

I also hate terran with a passion which is why I take great pleasure at destroying them with an invincible deathball or warp storming their mineral line.

Terran. Just an old schooler from SC1. I was on a team many years back and they needed terran players when I first joined. I found the micro intense, and trained extremely hard. From that I developed a personal attachment to terran that I couldn't leave.

Sorry to hear you have a vendetta against terran :'(

I used to play P but switched to T because P was the same thing every game. The variety of choices I have as a Terran player is great, I'll gladly trade the Colossus (my favorite unit) for that.

I started playing terran, then switched to protoss. Whenever I was toying with Zerg and returned to protoss, I noticed my macro improved a lot. Switched back and forth a few times, but I roll Zerg as my main race.

Oldskool love from BW. Zerg was always my favorite, even though I thought Terran was better.

Go figure that it's the same shit in SC2.

I play Zerg because it is the weakest race, therefore even if I lose I'm still better than my opponent because they only beat me due to exploiting imbalance.

I started with terran because I played through the single player first, but switched to toss after a few weeks because it's what I played in BroodWar. If I could go back in time, knowing what I know now about toss, I'd have gone zerg instead of specializing in a race that's boring as hell and contantly being nerfed (but I won't go into an imba argument here).

IMO terran is a cop out race. Remember that sceenshot of Idra demanding that his opponent apologize for playing as protoss because he thought winning with them is not winning with skill? That's how I feel about terran now.

I played Zerg because of SaviOr and July back in Brood war and just because i though that the mechanic of the race was really based on timings and rhythm, being a musican, it always help. Though, i got so fed up with defiler play and just the simple fact of playing a zvz that i switch to terran.

Now, in SC2, i play Zerg, i find that ZvZ is actually fun. It takes more effort to learn Zerg and i like that for a fact. I find them also visually more interesting.
Real mens play Zerg.. Startale fighting.

Zerg has superior style and flavor. The way zerglings engulf the enemy, how the map gets infested by creep, so many banelings, the overall artistic design of the race. From a gameplay point of view, you have to play more intelligently and reactively than with the other races. I always feel like an underdog, which makes every won battle that much more rewarding.

This may sound like the dumbest reason ever, but when I played broodwar as a kid with my brother on BGH (that is probably the only map we ever played lol), I hated the fact that terran workers had to build the buildings, and zerg had to use their workers to morph into buildings. I liked being able to just warp in a building as protoss. I was used to how protoss worked when sc2 came out, and just stuck with it. It's also the reason I chose to play Undead in Warcraft III, since they could summon their buildings =)

I like spellcasters carrying my army, and back in BW, I liked Dragoons.
I first realized Immortals were reincarnated Dragoons when I saw them dancing helplessly behind my Stalkers.

Slayers Boxer made me want to play terran in BW. I just stuck loyally with the race. UEA ftw.
I have a dream, that some day I wouldn't see any imba comments in GSL threads.

I think that too when I play Zerg. If I win by 4 gating as toss, or winning with a deathball lategame I just think "cool" and start up another game. With Zerg I feel satisfied and I just sit back and relax for a bit, because you usually have to do alot more thinking.

BW i played Toss first like all newbies+ Show Spoiler +
Mass Carrier Arbiter FTW
. Switched to Terran when i got serious about the game+ Show Spoiler +
and because Flash is a baller. Plus Terran always seemed more fun though mechanically difficult. And i <3 TvT
. When i started SC2 in Beta i Randomed. Then picked up Terran because it just came naturally and by far the funnest Race IMHO. And TvT is still the best Mirror Match up. ZvZ crap PvP is more crap.+ Show Spoiler +
TvT=Every Unit in Terrans Arsenal is literally used. PvP 4 gate FTW into Collosi FTW. Zerg= Ling Ling Ling Bling Bling Bling Roach Roach Roach
. Kind of funny though I've never actually use Maruaders in my play until recently and thats only to FE off of 1 Rax. + Show Spoiler +
Marauders are boring

I play Zerg because I prefer the macro mechanics (bind all hatches to one key and produce units from 1 building). I dislike creating probes/SCVs every few seconds, as well as having to take up a bunch of bind keys for barracks/robo/factory/starport etc.

Zerg is by far the most rewarding race to play when your winning as the whole time your sprinting along a razors edge where one mistake means no matter how ahead you lose, it's units are fast, aggressive and attack in swarms, no other race has anywhere near the speed and sheer bloody mindedness of a zergs army when it's finally moving in to break the enemies army.

There is nothing funner then winning with zerg, every victory feels completely earned and nothing can match the sheer rush you get from continually skirting the brink of defeat.

I play Random cause playing just one race is boring when all the races are very fun to play.

i play depending on my mood, but since i love siege tank and battle cruiser design from sc1. I consider terran my main race.
Switching around is not a real problem because zerg and toss are easier to win with at my level of play, so i tend to go up 1 or 2 leagues when switching and fall down again *g*. (or i am just terribel with terran hehe.)

All my friends played T/P back in SC and eventually BW so I rolled Z to make things interesting.
Stayed with Z because after 10 years, they still look so much cooler (except Immortals.. they are just awesome looking).

I have a feeling most posters on this topic will be Zerg players, because if they are still playing Zerg, they MUST have a good reason.
Not all, but a lot of players only play to win, and right now its a lot easier to win with Protoss and Terran.

Just picked Zerg, the looks alone did it.

After I dediced I wanted to play this game a bit more seriously I tried all the races but nothing can compare to the feeling of making 20 units in a second :D (and the realising how abd my macro is)
We know nothing.

Not dumb at all. Very legit imo

I play Zerg cuz it was the race I played and loved so much in BW. The reason why I loved them so much was cuz of the Lurkers, Defilers, cracklings, and one supply endless line of Hydras..

Okay I sound like an whiner and I admit I dont like SC2 Zerg as much as BW Zerg. But I still play my race in hope of they will be cool again in HoTS.

I randomed up until silver league (started bronze with no RTS experience) and chose protoss. I won most with em, but there is something far more important than winning. It is:
Protoss have laserbeemz. On almost all our units. Nobody else has them, just us. Lasers are cool.

When I was younger I was very into the SC story. I played zerg because their campaign was so great in vanilla SC and they have such a cool image. However in BW Kerrigan ruined the coolness of the zerg so I went and played Protoss out of spite lol. Now I'm still protoss. (Terran never interested me, kind of bland compared to the zerg and protoss)

I hate ZvZ with a passion and I don't like the Terran playstyle.

I would rather play Zerg than Protoss in general but I dislike the ZvZ matchup so much that I ended up going for P.

I played Random during both beta phases of SC2 and eventually went with Protoss because it fit well with my SC:BW background. I actually won more with Terran but it still didn't feel quite right to me.

I think the key is to give all of the races a fair shot by playing Random until you can finally pick which race feels the best to you. Please note, you will need to play a ton of games in order to finally elucidate the correct choice. Also note that, for the most part, playing Random will cause your rankings to decrease while you adjust but, over the long term, you will eventually benefit from the experience by finding "your race."

Good Luck to all those lost souls in search of a home on Char, Aiur/Shakuras, or Korhal/Tarsonis =.

I started as T but I lost like 90% of my TvT's because I refused to make siege tanks.
Then I got destroyed by this zerg on the ladder who swarmed my shit and harassed everywhere and I got inspired so I switched to zerg

Terran, simply because I enjoy listening to space marines more than random growling noises or robotic beeps. Their gunfire/rockets/explosions also sound the coolest IMO. The game is most fun when you enjoy the aesthetics - anyone can adapt to a certain race's playstyle, but you cant change the fundamentals of that race.

Yeah so nostalgic. In BW is used to actually go Ghost and nuke and do mass lockdown crap. I was D level so i could get away with it . Then i stopped and got in to C .

Now i can actually go Ghost without people making fun of me.

random because i like match ups rather than race.
i was protoss in bw because of the requirement of less hotkeys.
now that this doesn't matter, i'm full time random.

I play Zerg because Terran wasn't mobile enough for me. And now I have to deal with Roaches... Well even they are more mobile than Terran so I guess it's all cool.

I loved SK Terran vZ and Mechplay vP in BW. Mechplay isn't mobile I know, but somehow I just liked mech vP and hated Tanks vZ lol.

So yeah, neither of those were possible when I changed to Zerg(Mech vP is kinda viable now after Jinro vs. MC) and I have stayed with Zerg, loving my Mutalisks and Zerglings although they are really only viable in ZvT now.

Most of the time it's because i'm really bad in a particular match up, for example PvP, so I'm going to focus on Protoss. Then I also know my TvZ is sometimes weak so I switch to Terran to work on this, etc ...

I didn't want free wins. Kidding.

I really enjoyed the swarm concept in BW.

After switching a lot (I even had a P period) I got stuck with Zerg after being inspired by He who must not be named. I also loved the way the game was broken in favor of Zerg when installing fresh copies for Null Modem play, because we didn't/couldn't patch it.

Oh, and I was Orc in War2 because the Ogre Mage's Bloodlust was so much stronger than the Paladin's healing. But when I come to think of it it was because I would have 9 Ogres in a box and it was so easy to Bloodlust them all while healing was impossible. Did they patch it, or was the healing perhaps not useless? Maybe it was even stronger than Bloodlust but I just did not understand or could handle the micro?

Random, to keep an even view on all matchups, and I find it most challenging and fun to do.
Zerg lategame is imbalanced as shit. Also: "Protoss is really strong recently. Perhaps, it's time for there to be some changes for Terran." -MMA. Even MMA asks for buffs. Srsly Blizzard. Srsly.

Yeah i had the opposite happen to me. I would win all my Protoss matches in SC2 but still switched to Terran though i had a lower win rate. Kinda funny how i never thought Terran to ever be OP because i never made Marauders EVER . Got to Diamond without ever making 1 Marauder. Now after so many months i'm finally starting to add marauders but only when I go Bio TvT, Bio TvZ and Marauder Hellion Timing Attack, And to FE against Toss.

My TvP has always been Marines and Tanks.

I always enjoyed protoss the most in my early days of BW, but found I was best with zerg, so kept practicing as them. When I got back into the scene years later, I jumped onto iCCup and chose zerg there. At which point I was doomed to always play zerg. I'll stick with em through think and thin now...

Zerg - The defensive position early because of the fast Hatch annoys me, as well as the lack of offensive options early on and the lack of superior units you can get when you are way ahead in the lategame. Where Protoss can switch to Carriers / Mothership / Collosus, Zerg has the Ultralisk which frankly is quite situational and is not as dominant. I do love the Zerg midgame where you dominate with allowed map-hack and mass production, and Muta harass vs Terran <3.

Terran - Probably the best all-round race, but also very defensive in nature. Based a lot on positioning, especially vs Zerg and Terran when Siege Tanks are a necessity (bio in TvT can work but IMO is harder). TvT usually turns out into the most boring thing in the world if both players opt for Tanks. Their style does not suit me at all, so slow, immobile and boring.

Protoss - As probably is clear from the previous 2 descriptions; I play Protoss because they are by far the 'coolest' race of the 3. I love the warp ins, their units with awesome abilities like Blink and Feedback; their super strong units for lategame (mentioned already), and the fact their mechanics tend to favor offensive play. I don't want to play slow games where you mass defensive units. I love macro games, though. There's a difference between teching up and making a good army and making mass Siege Tanks / Missle Turrets / Bunkers like GoOdy does in pretty much every game :x

Protoss in team games, although starting to play more in 1v1 now that my teammates quit.

I wanted to play terran in BW; I always really liked the feel of the factory units. However I was really bad with terran so I played mostly protoss/zerg. I just made the decision that I wanted to play terran when I got my hands on SC2 (knowing at that point I'd be pretty equally bad with all the races). So I started off with terran on day 1 of the beta and haven't looked back.

I do still play the other races in custom/team games from time to time though.

I went with Protoss because in my opinion, they are the most like Undead from Warcraft 3. I just can't wrap my mind around not being able to summon buildings 8D (And of course being Canadian and all Huk just happens to be my hero.)

I played toss in beta and about 2 months after release. After that I took a break from gaming. In that break I started watching streams, somehow the zergs seemed the most appealing. I got so fascinated by Cella's and Idra's ability to survive 4gate pushes and the likes, crushing terran siegelines with banelings and ultralisks and just amazing stuff. So I hopped onto battle.net, got demoted to gold within 50 games and worked my way up to diamond again where I am now.

Anyone else notice that Zergs are the most outward about their race choice? To help emphasize that point..

I've played Zerg since 1999, because I love speed (played competitive Tribes), and they were the most mobile race in SC1.

In BW I chose Zerg because I felt that the awesomeness of zerglings and overlords for scouting was indispensible.

Now I play Zerg because I played Zerg in BW.

Stuck with it because i love the map control and scouting ability of the units.

I've been doing it for over a decade... Figured why switch? :-)

Actually, now that I think about it, I played random for a while in my early SC1 days, back before Blizzard made BGH "by popular demand..." and there were a million custom-made copies of it. But I'm pretty sure I've been terran since BW came out.

I play protoss primarily because I like their unit philosophy, quality over quantity. Secondly because when I first played vanilla starcraft I was 8 or 9 years old and had no idea how to macro... frickin campaign protoss were unkillable with my 1 control group army.

Watching streams i want to switch race every game i see. All the time I'm like "Ohhh thats awesome!, wish i was Race X". But unfortunatly i am completely clueless about zergs, which is a shame because I think they definitely have some fun mechanics.

I play Protoss currently, during beta and launch i played Terran because it seemed most accessible and during the campaign i got to know Terran a bit. I made the swap to Protoss mainly because i think warping in units and blink stalkers are awesome

At first I decided "I want to be like TLO and play random!" but after a little bit of that I found that I always was hoping I'd get zerg cause I liked zerg but I relized after making a switch to them that I didnt like them that much they didnt have the options to do some kewl stuff and It always broke my heart to watch mech and thought " I will never be able to do that because of I play zerg". I switched to terran after seeing a game of mech vs Z, found terran extremly fun withkewl options like drops, mech style of play, ect. So I decided to play terran.

but if you really cant choose between the two then dont, just play them both whenever you feel like it. If you dont like that idea I would say go one-two days of only playing that race alot and then switch to the other race, then decide which one was better.

I played Toss back in BW 10 years ago now ( ). Quit playing for years. SC2 came out and my cousin bought it right away. I wasn't too into it at first. My cousin played Zerg because that's what he played during BW. And the more I watched him play with Zerg, the more I started to like the game. So I got the game and went Zerg, too....

....Then he realized how UP Zerg was (this was vanilla SC2, pre-patch 1.1) and switched to Toss. Me, I couldn't leave the Swarm. Stuck with them since September. I can play a decent Terran. But my Protoss skills are horrible.

Terran quotes: "Hell, it's about time" ..okay, sorta badass.

Zerg quotes: kekekekkekekekekkee...alright. cute.

Protoss quotes: "My brethren, hear me, for there is little time left. All that remains of our race, our civilization, are those that stand beside you now. Trust in each other. Strike as one will. Let our last stand burn a memory so bright we will be remembered forever. En taro Tassadar!"...Epic.

In BW i played a real crappy zerg (ling or hydra all-in and cheesed every game).
In SC2 i started in the beta as terran, but then I noticed that 3:4 people on my friends list was terran also, so I decided to go protoss.

Also cuz my favorite players in BW also included (P)Nal_rA, (P)Kingdom, (P)Bisu, (P)Stork, (P)free...see a trend?

Protoss because it was the first race that my cousin taught me. Then, I practised it so much and found that if she had not bring this race to me, I'd pick it by myself as well because my life is destined for AIUR!

I had started my RTS career from seeing a video of Starcraft II beta being casted by Husky and HD on Youtube. After watching the HDH and seeing IdrA use zergs mobility and creep spread, I never looked back. As soon as I got my copy after pre-ordering Starcraft II I jumped right into 1v1 ladder using Zerg. Was placed in Bronze and eventually worked my way up to diamond in September, following the release of Master League I was put into Master League. I am proud to say I have used the same race and "stuck to my guns" by using Zerg for their speed and mobility, as well as their never ending "stream of units." Zerg is the race to play, and I love to macro if you want a race to practice your mechanics and long term play, I suggest to anyone to give Zerg a try.

Guess you won't be doing the latter for very much longer *trollface*

I enjoy terran because:

1) Because I'm a human being and love to destroy all you turncoats who bat for the other team.
2) Because I enjoy hearing people rage about "terran OP" when they lose because I know what they're actually saying is "Why oh why are you so much better at this than I am! In my rage I will blame my incompetence on everything but myself!" JK ^^
3) Protoss units remind me of a bunch of pansy fairies floating about casting magic spells and zerg are just giant bugs. Steel, fire, and big guns are SO much more satisfying!

^^

Notice those reasons aren't gameplay related. You'll have the most fun and get the best with whatever race resounds with you the most.

I went through all races and I was just like you: I saw a cool play and wanted to change back to a respective race. But I then analyzed my games and I was doing the best by far with Terran. I played Terran in BW for a bit, so that helped too.

Since them, I stuck with the Ts.

Picked up Brood War from a friend in 1999 and plalyed my first game on B.Net as Terran vs a random Protoss player. After watching my 10 marines get shredded by psi storm I knew that Protoss was the race for me and every since then all I play is Protoss.
And on top of that, If a galactic war broke out vs these 3 races I just think its more logical to be with the more highly advanced race.

Terran was always my favourite in BW because they were so fun to play. Lots of things going on, lots of stuff to keep track of, nice positional strategies, and very dynamic.

Sadly, in SC2 Terran is the most boring race. Tanks have been nerfed to the point of being laughable unless in huge numbers, Hellions have limited use, etc. etc. to the point where it seems infantry massing is the core of Terran play in all match ups. Boring.

So now I play Zerg - who are in my opinion the "Terran" of SC2. Dynamic, challenging, lots to keep track of.

Terran into random into zerg into random into protoss into zerg

I think SC2 zergs have the funniest and most reactive gameplay of the game. I was terran (+PvT) in BW and strangely I feel the experience of playing zerg in SC2 is really close to BW. It's like a mix of TvP (harass) and PvT (break the push).

P have cool spellcasters but they are way to slow and passive to my liking (and collossi only) and the fact that Terrans lost their vultures took almost 40% out of the fun of playing that race for me.

Protoss because when the Beta was going and early release they felt much more difficult than the other two races. Then myself and other protoss learned how to forcefield properly and had a guy named oGsMC teach us how the race was meant to be played.... now I spend my time collecting tears on the ladder

I played Protoss in BroodWar, because I Really loved the Zealot. I play them in SC2 because I played them in BW, and have found no reason to switch so far--though I have thought about trying Zerg a few times, because they seem fun.

Because I got used to Terran even though I had intended to pick protoss (my beloved BW race <3), climbed the ladder with them then didn't have anyone to practice the other races with so stuck with it. Thinking about doing 4 months or so with Z, the same with P, then going random full time.

In fact, split decision; I'm switching to zerg tomorrow. I literally decided as I was writing this. I might switch it up a bit though and throw some T in there, because I've grown fond of them.

Zerg for life. I love the Alien series of movies, and the hydras remind me of the aliens there. Something about a race that takes over planets and goops them up with slime and insects / aliens just really fits how I want to play sc2. Plus, I enjoy the macro mechanics of Zerg.

Zerg because...

-somehow, winning feels a lot more gratifying when playing Zerg.
-Zerglings are frickin' fast. And sneaky.
-successful Muta harrass feels so nice.
-nobody cares about individuals. Die for the swarm, minions!
-I really suck at spellcasting.
-spreading creep is just fun.
-watching the graph after the game and seeing how your small army killed his big army is just awesome.
-Banelings, baby.

At first the concept of zerg seemed very fun, i then decided to switch to terran and protoss and try them out and it was so boring that I switched back to zerg. Zerg is so fun to play your always doing something different, be it creepin, harasing, expanding, etc. Protoss is same thing (expand when collusi out, max, push) same as terran in a way =D
PM me for coaching. I'm a mid masters zerg player.

I play Terran. Although I like those cute zerg units, my macro sucks when I play zerg, and toss units are slow. So I decided to stick with Terran. Marines with stim are much easier to micro.

IMO terran is a cop out race. Remember that sceenshot of Idra demanding that his opponent apologize for playing as protoss because he thought winning with them is not winning with skill? That's how I feel about terran now.

not to start anything but you do realize terran is not the easiest race nor imba. Late game is tough for most T's not to mention we are forced to micro in every match up. Toss is by far the easiest race to play. I really don't think you know much about the game and your just trollin

I play Zerg because I am a macro based player. My strengths are in my apm (from my keyboard hand) and my rhythm. Rhythm is very important for a Zerg player's macro with spawn larva and all that. My weakness is my mouse hand accuracy/apm, so I have trouble with microing individual units while macroing sometimes. This is much more important for Protoss and Terran. Overall I chose Zerg because it just fit my style best and I felt the most comfortable with it.

Because I'm stuck with it.

I started playing Terran in BW because they were considered the hardest race, mechanically, to play. Before I started playing, I figured I'd choose the hardest race to play because if I'm good as the hardest race to play I've got to be good right?

So I figured I'd stick with the same race in SC2. Makes sense, right? Stick with what you know?

The problem is, I'm kind of bored as Terran and Zerg actually fit my playstyle a lot more. I've always been a macro player; all-ins and cheese were never my thing.

So, I'd love to switch races to Zerg but the amount of time it'd take to relearn everything and get back up to my current standards is, I figure, not worth it. Much better to just stick with what I know and perfect it.

tl;dr - Chose Terran because I played them in BW. Want to switch but it's a bit too late for that.

Played Zerg primarily in BW, always liked the mobility of zerg armies...I also always felt the skill cap on zerg had unlimited potential...toss and terrans more linear gameplay to me feels like they are easier to learn, and while still difficult to master, no where near the challenge zerg presents.

Additionally Zerg though extremely linear in their opening options that aren't all in...are very very diverse in their late game options, tech swapping around to gain every possible advantage on your opponent.

After a hard day's work there isn't anything more satisfying than see a marine plattoon melting in green shiny acid explosion just after an encounter of the 3rd kind with some cute rolling banelings (they just want a hug).

That puts a smile in face everytime. ^^

Why? I really don't know anymore. I started because they seemed to have the coolest units (Collosi, HT's, DT's etc). But nowadays I don't know :|
Also the pro that influenced me most to play Protoss was probably Tester back in the late beta, shame he's never really maintained that momentum.

I like the definition of Protoss being like it's the mecho type meaning a 200/200 army can beat a Zerg and Terran 200/200 army. Zerg is all about your replenish. The faster you can get a 200/200 army again is how you play zerg to overrun your opponent.

Zerg because I can play it the best with low FPS on my terrible computer. Macro doesn't require looking at the screen Zerg is the easiest to win with when not microing (just an opinion, and obviously I don't mean 0 micro.)

It makes me sad to see so many people say zerg because terran or protoss is easier to win with. Makes me feel like my choice of race, protoss, isn't justified as a player that plays not to win, but for challenges. I don't think this is true, since protoss fits my style way more than any other race. It's too bad it seems imbalanced

Honestly, for the first few weeks after release I was dead set on playing zerg. After all the imba qq I decided to try to learn another race, then another. Finally I've reached a decision that I will play random. It's better in serious games, people can not conjugate a plan until they scout (miniscule change, but, everything matters) as well as an improved comprehension of MU's from the other side of the spectrum.

i play zerg, i wanted to play terran when beta was out but for some reason i find terran sooo hard to play. With zerg the creep spread how you produce units and larva inject just click with me and i play that race 10x better then terran.

Zerg because i like playing defensively and taking over the map with bases.

I also felt that winning as Zerg was so much more satisfying.

Random. All the races have something unique to offer. Played random in beta, tried to main a race for a month or so, switched back and now I only main a race if my MUs as that race are getting sloppy or bad.

Plus I can give Terrans hell for having no self-respect, Zergs hell for having no balls and lately Protosses hell for "exploiting obvious to-be-fixed imbalances" - all the while claming to be none while being them all ^^

Terran and Protoss are boring. Lord knows I should switch because they're both so much easier, but if I play either race I find myself terribly bored with my wins.

Terran because that's what I played in scbw and I couldn't give up using siege tanks. Has nothing to do with "wins" or "easy race". I actually have a better win rate with protoss when i play random 2v2s. I just like the positional gameplay similar to chess with siege tanks and vikings. People hate tvt's because of this, I love it.

I played terran in BW and terran in beta and terran for like two weeks post-release, but switched to protoss because I felt like SC2 terran was like BW protoss (slow and unweldy). I'm not good, and won't ever be good, so being able to do stupid shit like 4wgate and proxies and cute shit with HTs and prisms amuses me and is fun, especially in 2x 3x 4x.

Edit:
Whoring zerg with Phoenixes is fun too lol.

I always play the underdog. I was Protoss until they became FOTM when the beta had been out for a while.

I just can't stand people whining about me winning because of imbalance. I'm Zerg now.

I only played enough campaign in SC1 to be decent with Terran, so I kinda stuck with it and that carried over into SC2. Although I like to play randoms in casuals because all the races are interesting, I'm just bad at Zerg and Protoss. =P

But Zerg is imbalanced! The first 3 GSLs were won by Zergs!
Just kidding

I began as T in beta, coz my circle of friends had P and Z already and one wanted all matchups for our private games. Then I learned MMM stim timing push and he falmed me like crazy. Same happened in Ladder.
Since then I play RANDOM.

Hate T now because I still only have that MMM stim play.
It feels like you need to be pretty exact with builds as T. 3 Rax MM or 2 Rax MMM are easy to do, but I fail with anything else.
If nobody hates you, you´re doing something wrong. However someone hating you doesn´t make you right

I had a very similar problem when I picked up SC2. I don't really care for the Terran play style, as I don't like the way the constructing of buildings works. So I just basically played a bunch of games as Zerg and Protoss and eventually came to the conclusion that I liked playing Protoss as my main race. I still do play Zerg once in a while, and even sometimes play Terran. I think it really just came down to which style of race I liked the most.
Do you know what your sin is? I'm a fan of all seven.

Lol srsly? I would say it's the easiest to learn (read: LEARN not play)
I played T from platinum ---> masters league.
Switch recently to protoss as I was tired of 45min+ TvT and my TvZ was horribad... Now I take great pleasure in all 3 matchups - but from what I hear PvP will be a pain in time. Overall I think my T is still stronger, but it's just not as fun.

I would actually love to play Z, but I somehow manage to always screw up my larvae count. 0mins --> 8 larvae .... 5mins later 1500mins --> 0 larvae... So yeah, T got boring and Z wasn't an option

Played Protoss in BW and continued the tradition through beta and release of SC2. In BW I played Protoss initially because they felt the coolest to my 12 year old self, and then stayed with them because PvZ was an incredibly fun, dynamic, harass-based match-up and TvZ demanded control and mechanics that I didn't have.

In SC2 I continue playing Protoss instead of Terran because I'm too lazy to learn the glorious matchup that is TvT. Yes sloth relegates me to the PvP Circle of Hell.

I have always been god awful at Zerg.

I play Terran, mostly because I played it in BW and started playing it in the beta as well because of that. I played a bit of random at release, but just always felt the most comfortable with Terran. Macro games of TvZ feel a lot like BW TvZ which is cool, since it was always a really manly matchup. And TvP fascinates me because there's so many things that hint at it being a role reversal of BW TvP, where the Terran is the one trying to grab a lot of expansions and avoid the Protoss ball, rather than the other way around. I hate TvT, but I hate the other mirrors even more so what can you do.

The unfortunate thing is that it's really uncool to be Terran on TL lately, so there's hardly any streams of good T players anymore. :p Any random time you look at the sidebar of featured streams it's almost all Zerg and Protoss. Oh well.

I play Terran because I like to micro my units and multitask. But I play macrostyle because I don't like to be aggressive for no reason, I think playing with large amounts of terran units is fun.

I play Z but i hate ZvZ with a passion.

My TvT is on such a high level compared to my ZvZ.. but my ZvT/P are both pretty good

I play zerg because production is mechanically very fucking simple, so i can put 90% of my effort into good positioning and strategy rather than spamming several production structures.

IF i was a better mechanical player id probably swap to T because it actually rewards multitasking

I play Zerg, not really from some traditional reason, as I didn't play BW, and pretty much came into SC2 very fresh to the whole scene (I wasn't even going to buy the game until I watched some vods before release). However, I did play other RTS games in the past, and Z just seemed like it was somewhat different than traditional "guy comes out of a barracks" fare, so I thought, what the hell, and started to learn the race, and have grown to like it, through all the ups and downs.

In regards to mirrors, I feel like ZvZ is alright once a midgame has been established, though it is annoying getting there sometimes. No doubt PvP is a worse matchup though.

Protoss. Played them when I used to do some light BW back in the day. My friends all played Terran and I was like "protoss looks cool..."

SC2 it was protoss as well. What's not to like? Awesome looking units. Ninjas (DT). Warping building and units. Shields. Technology oriented.

I can't stand Terran. Everything about them. What their units say, how they move, etc. Weird since I also hated Humans back in Warcraft 3.

I find Zerg really cool but I just can't play them for the life of me. My brain just doesn't work that way. Drones or units? eh...don't know!

zerg. because i like to break things when I lose because I can't scout it and also becuase I like coping with depression.

on a serious note though, i like being agressive and creative (both of which i feel zerg lacks in sc2 but thats besides the point) and when I played bw (which was in 4th grade when i was like 9) I thought zerg was baller. so when i started to play sc2 i was like i'll be a baller @ zerg then a baller @ toss but then as I realized I wanted to actually be good, I stuck with 1 race (zerg) and now i'm 3800++ zerg, although I'm heavily considering switching to random.

Protoss is actually quite difficult at higher levels. All the races are, but I can assure you protoss is very difficult at higher levels. I would get down from that high horse and meanwhile stop feeding the trolls

I am currently playing Terran, because I want to play as Zerg/Protoss, Using an old technique play the race you were weakest against, then switch to your good race. Having been forcing myself to play Terran I have learned how to beat them as a Toss now. "Aka, how come toss loses to MM/MMM Tank/M" etc..

I play Protoss because they're the easiest for me honestly. I would love to play Terran, but I can't micro my units and multitask very well which is needed for Terran more than protoss which just has 1 ball of units you a-move.

I decided to start playing protoss to make up for my lack of mechanics and creativity.
Colossus are a very strong unit and i intend to win off the back of them from now on.
forcefield is also really easy to execute and unimaginably powerful.

I play Terran because I played them in BW, and I played them in BW because I thought the looked cooler than P or Z lol (I know a terrible reason). Now I have a bias love for Terran and could never switch. But I have to say I feel as though Terran are maybe the most hated race in this game lol. Looking at the Strat section of TL you see the majority of threads are for P or Z with just a hint of T thrown in.

playing protoss, cause i liked their design in bw.
reaver, ht (storm / archon), dragoons, dts and manlots were just fantastic units.

in sc2 i sticked to protoss, thought first the sentry and warp prism are cool units.

now i'm just sticking with protoss, altough i'm heavily frustrated with the race 8[

beta released played a 2v2 with JP I saw the zerg had cool animations from a teaser video (the scorpion moving around inside the building) and stayed zerg every since. I used to like watching zerg players in sc1 so I felt it'd be cool. Also roaches were OP as fuck as we played ZP in 2v2. LOL.

My mind is wandering between Terran and Protoss. Terran's conventional macro mechanics is more comfortable for me and it is really lenient on mistakes although i have trouble playing it in large maps. Protoss' mechanics seems way easier and convenient but uncomfortable and i don't like that mistakes can cost you the game unlike terran. Warp in ability really lets me play well (doing my 4 gate) in the large maps.

I play Zerg because it fits my play style macro wise. I like to expand alot and the creep spread / larva inject mechanic. I sometimes forget to keep constant production on my command centre / nexus, but with every larva spit you can just churn out a handful of drones to make up for it

It's funny cause I think hardcore gamers heart their own race hate the other twos..
I became my SC2 career using protoss and sticked with them for a pretty long time (from beta to GSL season 2) but then.. I saw MarineKing.Prime and I fell in love. I have a man crush on that guy.

I fell in love with the aggressive style, costant harass and crazy production off 8 rax on 2 base etc.etc. and started playing T.
At first it was really weird because I was really used to P but then I fell in love when I started winning. It's going really well since then and now I am pretty high in Masters with T.. I considered switching to another race but tbh Z is just way too much to "re-learn" for me, it's like... Starting all over. I made a second account where I tried Z and P and with Z it went pretty bad (like high-ish diamond at max) with P I actually manage to play in the master's league with no particular effort which makes me think that P is the "easiest" race to play (not talking about balance.. but macro/micro wise)... but.. my insane HATE for the other 2 races prevents me from switching over to P or Z now.
Every time I play I hate with all my heart the colossi, the HT, the stupid blink stalkers going around... etc. same when I got muta harassed... or when they try to bane all in me etc. I feel i wanna keep destroying the other races with terran.

But to the OP, Terran is what I played in SC1, and is what I can relate to on an aesthetic and skill level.

In BW, I started with Terran since they were the most analogous to races featured in other RTS games, especially Age of Empires and even Command and Conquer to a small degree. Protoss became my off-race in BW due to their easy-to-learn playstyle and mechanics. I still have no clue about how to play Zerg in BW.

In SC2, my main race initially started out as Protoss due to my perceived notion that Protoss builds are very predictable and formulaic. However, Protoss became a bit too formulaic and stale for me, so I switched to Random to experience the other races.

Ironically, my Zerg play in SC2 is my forte, followed by my old race the Protoss, then by ironically Terran. I found it funny to see my comfort with the races do a complete switch between BW and SC2.

I wanted to experience all of StarCraft, no just 1/3 of it, so I chose random.

I play Zerg and Terran, I do not know why but I can not win with protoss so I do not play them. I am probably better at Terran than Zerg but Zerg is more fun so they take up most of my games.

I played ZvT ZvP and TvZ in BW, and since it's kinda hard to do that on ladder in SC2, I just decided to stick with zerg since they're by far the coolest race in the game.

Edited for spelling.

Protoss. Cause you play Brotoss when you're a boss. When you're a toss you can't be at a loss. And protoss units have mad gloss.

Sorry, I think of those things and have to say them no matter how lame they are.

But on a serious note, I play protoss because I love the lore developed with them in SC1. Fenix, Tassadar, Zeratul, and Artanis are so awesome that I feel the need to stand by my favorite characters.

I actually have no idea what race I'm playing, haha. During the beta I played Terran, but after release, I switched to Zerg because I hated TvT, but now after playing zerg for so long, Terran just looks so much more appealing. I really feel like Blizzard got Terran more right with WoL than either Zerg or Toss, making it feel satisfying for a win, and losses hurt as well.

I'm seriously contemplating just switching back to Terran, just because they feel so much more.... Comfortable, haha. Playing Zerg feels like I'm trying to fuck around with those crazy finger traps while playing, whilst Terran is just smooth and fun.

Only downside is everybody and their mother is playing Terran nowadays, and I still think I hate TvT

When I started in BW, my micro was terrible, and I found it easiest to win just by playing protoss and a-moving massive numbers of gateway units. My friends all had much better micro, but i was the only one who actually knew how to spend my money, and I usually rolled them with my incredibly cost-ineffective attacks.

My love of protoss has extended into sc2, although the reason i started is kinda gone, considering toss is actually somewhat micro intensive now.

I'm playing zerg because even though I played random for several years for Starcraft 1, I ended up going with zerg for the last while.

I feel like I made a terrible mistake though, blizzard nerfing zerg 100 times over, and not buffing them properly or enough. Not only that, they just designed the race poorly overall even

Overall I'm not happy with playing zerg. I chose zerg in SC1 mostly because of it's macro mechanic , which allows for a bit more flexibility, and less macro APM due to building hokeys. Another reason is that zerg had good control over the game and various skillful and viable opening builds and strategies.

In Starcraft 2 zerg is just a reactive race that can't even react due to scouting fail. They have no good offensive build orders really. Every single unit aside from the roach (which is now underpowered) and Brood Lord is pretty damn bland in some way (infestor has/had potential if it wasn't for it's POS abilities other than fungal). Almost all of their abilities are trashy via unoriginality or underpoweredness, and have the least special abilities overall as well.

Protoss. I feed off zerg tears. That and I get a big banana grin when I mass storm a bioball or roach hydra or just roll over an army with a colossus ball and the front line dies to splash before it can attack.

Warpgates and forcefields. Also, I love having a couple gas dumps (sentries and HTs) which makes macroing more fluid.

I Play terran. I think the other 2 races seem so 1 dimensional and don't vary enough. I love terran because of how many different openers and styles you can play in all 3 matchups, and our mirror is as good if not better than non mirrors.

I played Protoss in BW because they had carriers. For SC2, I wanted to switch to Terran or Zerg, however controlling a Protoss army felt most natural as a WC3 player. Also, as an Undead player, I like being able to warp in my buildings and walk away.

I used to be a protoss player through beta but they got boring pretty damn fast. The race is extremely stale and doesn't seem to flow well at all. On one end you have really shitty core units, then godlike tier 3 units. This made a lot of the games like...defend, defend, defend, ok a-move, gg. That combined with pvp being quite possibly the absolute WORST mirror in the history of this game made me quit protoss.

Zerg seemed more tedious than fun with queen injects/tumors. Given their reactionary structure, I didn't want to play a race that couldn't control game flow early without practically all-inning.

Terran has a huge amount of benefits. It has the most skill based mirror, the most polished units, the best ability to control early game flow and has a lot of positional and harassment play. Pretty good deal imo.

I play the race I play because I was too stupid or arrogant to foresee the inevitable stupidity it is to play this race. I failed to see that I must respond flawlessly to my opponents play while it is mind-numbingly simple for them to completely hide what their plan actually is from every scouting means available. I didn't realize that literally every single mirror would be an endless stream of all ins, such that whoever stops going all in first and stupidly decides to make drones or expands is usually the player to lose. Half the maps it's still near impossible to defend a 4gate because spines are not possible and there is absolutely no other T1 cure to endless stalker kiting. Let's not forget that the unit that is supposed to counter the last matchups core unit is in fact inexplicably reverse-countered in 90% of games.

Don't mind me, I've just spend the last three days dropping ladder points and I'm desperately waiting for the ladder to finally reset so I don't have to lose for a week while learning a new race.

MMR isnt being reset.

sorry. Just swap to toss, you wont lose points once you get used to the style, its very easy mechanically to play toss to mid masters level, and wont take you long to transfer fully.

the production cycles are very very long so you can get away with passable mechanics and still keep your money very very low. If you forget to warp in and start stacking money you can instantly warp in what you need, then chrono your gates for a super fast reinforce..

Shame there's not much else to the race... oh.. make collosus..

There is nothing funner then winning with zerg, every victory feels completely earned and nothing can match the sheer rush you get from continually skirting the brink of defeat.

Because like Idra, I have self respect.

Actually I remember for MONTHS going on weekly/biweekly trips to compUSA and I would always pick up the box to SC1 and think how cool the alien (hydra) looked. I would pour over the box and always wanted to know what it was like and what the heck the slug (reaver) was.

Finally that christmas I got the game and jumped right into the zerg campaign because the hydra looked badass (I was 12 and didnt want to play a game like this just to be a measly human)

Now that im 24 and the hydra has become a weakling I have just kind of stuck to my guns that aliens that kill without remorse or care are awesome. Who needs tech when you have evolution on your side.

On a side note--the Zerg music sucks, terran OP on that front. Blizz better come up with something better for HOTS.

Played Terran since phase 1 of the beta. About a month after the official race, I was wondering what all the talk about Zerg being underpowered was about, so I decided to jump into Zerg and to see if they really were underpowered. I really liked Zerg, didn't think they were underpowered (at my level of play then), so I stuck with them.

I used to play Terran, but now I just roll random because I kept wanting to switch races and could never decide on one (as opposed to BW where I simply loved using vultures/siege tanks more than anything else).

I might switch back to just Terran though, since learning the intricacies of 9 match-ups is just overwhelming. I'm too indecisive. =P

A lot of my friends chose Protoss since they seemed the coolest race.

I feel like a lot of my RL Zerg friends play Zerg so they can feel elitist about playing the harder race. Meh.

I main zerg cause they're obviously the most adorable/cute units. n_n
Oh and also cause i enjoy the mechanical feel behind using them. Very systematic.

Or i play Random in team games for the lols since team games require more micro than macro so i have more room for my sloppiness on my off-races.

I play terran for a few reasons.

One is the "hero" factor. With Protoss each unit is this elite -bad @$$ warrior and with Zerg, each strain is BRED to slaughter...with Terran you get that Action Hero thing going on, a lone soldier clutching his gun, the battered tank lobbing shells to his last breath...dunno. Makes me feel good.

Another thing is the voices. Not only are some of the sayings quite comical, but they are SUPER helpful to me. If I have MM on 1 and hellions on 2 and I look away from both groups to macro for a tick and one group gets attacked, I know what to hit without looking or caring. I mean, "we need help here" comes through those speakers I hit 1-1 without even thinking. However, if I moved hellions to a mineral line and then queued up an attack and I hear "FIRE FIRE" through the speakers, I don't do anything. The helions are doing what they should be doing.

The biggest thing is I like the Terran play style. Defending can be quite fun and puts you at an advantage, yet you get to attack and poke and prod...it isn't a 200/200 uber ball and there is little hope of a fast remax, but sending out strike forces and drops while holding your front...makes you feel like a Hero. (Full Circle for the win)

I played Zerg a little in BW so I started with them in SC2. At first I loved it, with the easy macro (once you get used to it), nydus worms, broodlords, and creep spread. I'm really pessimistic about Zerg in SC2 atm, but I'm sticking with it in hopes that it will get better eventually.

So much bias on this threat, especially from zergs(maybe you should train more and complain about balance less ). I play terran because i always loved the mechanics of the race back from broodwar, and the lore part of the race is awesome. The 3rd reason would be that I love rock/metal and terrans are all rockers. I also feel that these claims are about terran being the easiest race are complete crap. Every race needs skill, and I find the certain skillsets u need for terran are pretty challenging at a high level. You need a good mix of micro and reaction time as well as multitasking. This certain balance is laking in the other races, varying more on situation.

It's sad that protoss is like that. At a high level it isn't easy to play any of the races but protoss seems to be more forgiving for the lower levels. Still , switching might be the answer if the mechanics of the race you're playing don't suit you.

Randum: zerg for IdrA (and they spew creep), terran for BoxeR, protoss because its not SO gay anymore in sc2.
T for BoxeR, Z for IdrA, P because i have no self-respect

I play Terran not because it is my favorite race (it's my least favorite) but because TvT is the best of all the mirror matches. I can't stand the idea of having to play PvP or ZvZ 33% of the time... gross. PvP is 4gate vs 4gate, or 4gate vs X, and ZvZ is a game of drone chicken, who quits droning first usually determines the outcome of the game. TvT has a bit of variety in terms of openings, and even though tanks are a staple unit in the matchup, they usually promote longer more interesting macro games.

I literally just picked one randomly. Too bad I didn't pick terran right?? hahahaha.... >.>
but really, I don't regret picking toss. The warp-in mechanic was just too cool to pass up.

I play Protoss because I played Protoss in BW. Really disappointed with how the race plays in SC2 though, at least so far.

Because being a whiny Terran in broodwar(playing the weakest race obviously) i chose to play the weakest race in sc2, (zerg)

however terran in bw and zerg in sc2 are just..

one it was possible to win with, and one one mistake costs you everything(and its not terran from bw)

I wanted to play Protoss, because thats what I played in Broodwar, but then it seemed like ALL of my friends were choosing toss as well, and I didn't want to be like all of them, so I chose Terran, because I hated Zerg in Broodwar.
After about a month of beta, I got bored of terran, and one of my friends recommended trying Zerg. Turns out it really fit me.
Also, it was the common sentiment among the community that zerg was the weak race, so I assumed blizzard would over compensate like they usually do, and give zerg a huge buff. That turned out really well
So, well, I'm still zerg.

I like the fact that you've got to stay on your toes to do well as zergs with all the factors counting in.

I picked Protoss because they are just cool, because Zerg are evil and Terrans sound like complete idiots.

And now I keep playing protoss because sometimes, with a flawless play, you're able to defend against those despicable swarm of quick units and completely stomp them all the way to their nest. It just feels right when you win after such a struggle, much like an hero overcoming the odds and dispensing justice.

To be honest I play zerg because of the streamers. Protoss as offrace because it's streamed too alot and almost never terran because there isn't like Steven Bonnell for terran.

Huk is gold for protoss streams.

E: I love every race and I could play any of them so the big decision comes to these small factors which however have huge impact on my game because I watch so much SC2 and when I watch my race played, I definitely learn alot.

I tried all races, I even played random for something like 30 games. But after a short while, it was always this feeling that Zerg is just more fun for me and I started playing zerg again. Having to do so much stuff like creep tumors, inject, runbys etc. is just the most fun for me personally, trying to get into this mood where everything runs smoothly and stuff just falls together, thats the greatest fun.
Oh, and I played zerg in BW too.

I play about 50/50 zerg and protoss.

I started out as Zerg because I heard it was the hardest...it's true. I fell in love with the race after seeing some of the Amazing things IdrA could do, and stuck it out through the hard times and deal with losing to early timings because I love the race and feel that if you can win with Zerg, you're truly good.

I now also play protoss. Why? Well, because I have become a liquid'tyler fanboy. After seeing some of his REALLY cool play, I began to fool around with toss, and found out that it's not as two dimensional as people make it sound. There are a ton of cool strategies (blink timings, both all in and otherwise, double ups, DT's, immortal builds, VR or Phoenix builds, etc) It's very timing focused, which is cool, and rewards good game sense. Since the T3 units for toss are so strong, I feel toss most strongly rewards good macro in a long game (sadface at no good hive options for zerg).

I play random because I really can't decide who I like best! I know I'm worst at protoss, but I still enjoy playing with them.

If I really had to choose one race, though, it would be terran. Why? I'm not entirely sure, but I think I would blame Idra.

I play Toss, played Toss in BW. And I play toss cause they're the absolute shit. Zeratul is my homeboy. I just got a new jacket, and put a patch with a protoss insignia on the front. Protoss probably could be a steaming pile of poo when it came to competitive play, and id still play them.

I picked Zerg because back in the starcraft 1 campaign the Overmind said a few things to me that ensured I would always follow his will (no matter what Kerrigan does to my swarm.)
Awaken my child and embrace your birthright.
If ever your flesh shall fail, that flesh shall be made anew, that is my covenant with all cerebrates.

If I had a magic genie, my first wish would be to have the Overmind's voice as my own.
Awaken my child, and embrace the glory that is your birthright.

Felt comfortable with Terran mechanics from my short time with BW, and playing through the single player campaign kind of sealed it. I'll probably switch to zerg when HotS comes out.

As a newbie to Starcraft with SC2, I chose Protoss for a combination of reasons:
1) Enjoyed their brief campaign cameos
2) Saw a lot of what I felt were exciting matches with Protoss players
3) In games I generally prefer the swiss army knife to the hammer, and I felt the mid game variation was geared to that for toss.
4) Mainly because I found it easy to learn some basic macro. Workers only take a second to place a building, warp gates dont need to constantly produce, chrono boosts can be forgotten then used, etc.

As I'm playing it more though, I am beginning to feel like switching. PvP is too much of a brain fart for me and I almost consider changing just based off that one match up. That and really enjoying watching zerg at the moment.

Terran, because I played them in Broodwar. And zerg players whine too much for me to be a part of the swarm.

I cannot stand the terran production facilities, although i would love to play terran if i could get used to the stupid production facilities, and I used to play zerg, but the horrible anti air caused me to switch back to Protoss; where i sit as protoss as my main race.

I play Zerg, because I played a lot of random (even in Broodwar) and ...

... hated playing Protoss vs Protoss so much that even my love for PvZ couldnt hold me with Protoss. PvP is like the worst match-up in the history of RTS Games -_-
... I am too slow for Terran. My APM is not so high (~100ish), so I was getting frustrated and played only timing rushes, when I got Terran. Also I think Terran is pretty boring to play, as you do not have that much variation as it might look like, if you watch GSL. (On normal level you simply cannot execute some things, so it gets pretty boring^^)
... I sometimes love playing ZvZ, because I like the micro heavy aspects of the matchup, which can swap into macro heavy aspects within seconds. (most of the time, I do not like ZvZ, tho, but it is much better then PvP)
... I am a drone whore. I love to make drones til the very last second and zerg is the easiest race to pull that off

Hope you liked my reasons

I play zerg because I like the fact that it is the least diverse IMO.

I decided on protoss mostly because I love the warp gate mechanic. Played terran in the beta but got bored of marauders.

Was never good at zerg. The whole drones/units managing just isn't for me.

I play protoss, but I'm not completely certain why. I was only a casual player back in the BW days and I never had a favorite race. Terran was the first race I tried when I got my beta key, but as far as I remember I lost my first few games. My first game after switching to Protoss I believe I won for the first time so I stuck with it.

Dark Templar and Archons are sweet anyway.

Protoss, cus its flashy glowy. ***'s love flashy glowy

I dont know, protoss units individually are strong, with micro they are even stronger. As a wc3 player my micro > macro, so protoss is the choice for me.

I play Zerg because in all most every game I play, I like to be super mobile and aggressive. Whether it be a first person shooter, RPG or RTS, that's just usually what I go for.. I guess I just prefer finesse. Terran actually really appeals to me as well.

cause zerg is badassplanetovertakinghivemindawesomesupramegaswarmishcreepexpandingevolvedkillingbugs.
that is now officially a word.

also, as someone mentioned early in the thread, where's the prestige in doing build X and then running straight into the enemy base and transition into winning borishly?
I'm better today than I was yesterday!
