The long and short is, i am a manager for a IT consultancy company and i am also a old school starcraft nut, running http://2bh.org for the past 8 years. We are based sydney and we are about to place an ad on Seek.com . I will be responsible for hiring said person.

Help Desk / Support Engineer - Level 1

This position is for a Help Desk / Support Engineer within an IT consultancy company that support Windows, Linux, Macintosh. We are located in Sydney / Crows Nest.
Role & Responsibilities
Answer the phones in the support call centre along with incoming e-mails
Log all calls as per standard procedure using a help desk ticketing application;
Resolve or escalate calls;
Perform onsite visits
Installation/Setup of Desktops and other IT equipment.
Essential Skills :-
An Australian driver’s license and permanent residency;
Strong work ethics and willingness to learn;
Experience supporting Microsoft Desktop operating systems, particularly Windows XP & windows 7 in a Domain environment;
Experience supporting Microsoft applications, in particular Office XP/2003/2007/2010 and browsers including IE, Firefox and Chrome.
A strong focus on customer service;
Excellent spoken and written English skills;
The ability to take direction well.
The ability to work in a team.
Desirable but not essential:- ...
Some experience with Macintosh and / or Linux
Proven corporate support skills, Level 1 support;

Wage is dependant on experience but as we are after a junior i would imagine wage will be 40k base + overtime + bonuses + super + expenses. ( internet mobile etc ).

Orly? Good to know that there are other UNSW guys here. I'm in third year, I've seen another guy in CSE browsing TL in lectures :p.
