1. You would hesitate whether a computer game requires the company to know all your basic real life coordinates. But you would likely agree, trusting them to only use the info for distribution stats. 2. You would hesitate whether to share all your personal data with a whole game community, and not just your friends. But you could agree, as long as you trust this community to be on average cool and decent, and you believe this could help to reduce the trolling. 3. Here we come: your data is shared with EVERYONE, in the company, out of the company, in the community, or out. Reason for this: none.

I remember when online communities used to ask you to be careful about whom you gave out your real name to and when the first question when contacting other members was "A/S/L?"

If one single person gets hurt as a direct result of this retarded idea, then there will be hell to pay. Activision-Blizzard will be sued to fuck, every politician in the whole fucking world will be out to get them, and I bet the people ultimately responsible for deciding to implement this will go to jail for a very long time.

if you support this, then answer this question, it's quite simple where is the benefit of this at? the only purpose I can even see for it is information collecting. Aren't they limiting us to only one account anyways? So what is the benefit, what's the justification? (really, i'd like to know)

I mean TL does a pretty fucking good job at it.

Blizzard implements Real Id to reduce trolls... how will it reduce trolls? People will track down and attack/harass trolls. So Blizzard in essence wants us to do exactly what we fear, they are just delusional enough to think it will only be used for good. You're from the USA I gather, it's probably different for you - we have much, much stronger laws over here protecting the individual. I would like to present to you, the Corporate Manslaughter and Corporate Homicide Act 2007. http://www.opsi.gov.uk/acts/acts2007/ukpga_20070019_en_1

I've seen this 'stance' being prevalent on many forums with those who support the RealID I think it is a very good idea, it will lower all the bad things on the forums like trolls and bad coments, and in theory it should only be good and constructive posts being posted then. It's ridiculously easy rebuking their comments.

As Uncle Ben said, "with great power comes great responsibility." except you are only allowed 1 account so if you troll they can just ban your account i really don't think there's many people who would be willing to repeatedly buy copies of the game over and over to just to troll and be repeatedly banned so in short, your answer does not suffice imo (same reply to odoakar and anyone else who says this)
