Light vs UpMagic Two mediocre terrans battling it out. Hard to predict what'll happen, but I'll take Up's creativity over Light's mechanical play. 2-1 for UpMagic
Hyvaa vs Hwasin The second set pits Hyvaa, eSTRO's rising zerg player vs the Red Sniper. Hyvaa's been playing well for eSTRO, but fell 0-2 to Hwasin during this current OSL run. Look forward to some good TvZ action in this set, with the Red Sniper coming on top 2-1
hey man im not sure if i'm streaming today gonna go out to eat soon.. might come back after it starts and from the other thread...

ah sorry, didn't mean it like that, I'm not begging anyone to start a livestream, but you did anyway. Still I got a decent stream off wfbrood.
The supply counter in the bottom right is strange... it doesn't count Zerg units until they hatch, unlike the in-game supply. Pretty unimportant but I just noticed this.
No one does this for a reason... 2 hatch hurts your economy, and by the time his mutas came out it was well after 3 hatch muta timing. He should've just gone 3 hatch from the beginning.
Yeah, I don't understand this guardian build Zergs like to use on Outsider. When's the last time it worked? I mostly watch Oz's games but I remember JD failing with it in the finals and Lomo beating a Zerg who tried it a while back.

it works
but the zergs who use them play so bad they make the strategy seem bad

Commentators are saying Upmagic is in this series while secretly not believing it. Little to they know that their secret thoughts are secretly ironic, because Upmagic is going to come back and show them that they were right all along... sort of.

I hope you are right! Cmon upmagic get in the game. He looks so distracted :|
upmagic's playing like his mind's elsewhere. pissing me the fuck off
what is there to not believe about playing wcg, ya stupid commentators? goddamn it put your mind into it and you can play with the best of 'em. when you're in a match, BE IN IT.
Upmagic's management seem terrible. Keeps forgetting to use his wraiths and doesn't try to retake his double gas expo even though he is starved for gas.
current recommended games for light vs upmagic: "Yeah, I'm gonna put this up now, without waiting for game 3 because it was just that good. Sick back and forth TvT with some intense drops and base fights. So close to Over 9000"

Game 2 was really great too, 2 games for recommended please.

Just changed it. Didn't expect game 3 to be so good after how good game 2 was. I put both of em up.

They knew UpMagic had it in the bag for like 10 minutes prior anyway, and were just kind of waiting for it to end. They had already suggested a lot of ways UpMagic could finish it if he wanted (snipe the vessel and wraith finish, etc). To them it was just a funny ending.

Agreed, but they should have made some hype for the people watching, that is their job after all. However, amazing game! I just love seeing epic games live.

Ah but you see those weren't Kona's predictions.
Shit you're right rofl.
but i did predict that hwasin and upmagic will win
Yeah right, if you had been making a thread you probably would have said "Hyvaa will win because eSTRO is hot lately" and "Light will win cause of Beanie Power" or something.

You can't say that Upmagic rode a lead to a win considering how many times the lead changed in this match.
Light was clearly ahead after the opening, but Upmagic came back from nice wraith usage. However Upmagic then suicides dropships and tanks and shit giving Light the lead again. However Upmagic built more units than Light and played damn aggressively. Most terrans don't have the balls to go for base trades in TvT when they have an advantage, not Upmagic. Kid has spirit. Not to take anything away from Light of course, he played fantastic as well.

Well the opening heavily favoured upmagic, after the first wraiths killed a bunch of scvs upmagic could have stayed in base and macro to win. Light played very nicely with his vults, specially when he defended with mines, like 3 times.
Light made more subtle and understandable mistakes, like a drop when upmagic was around with his dropships to.
Upmagic just plain threw units at light and light made very cute things like the wraith harras, the wraith split, the mine defence in his base to neglect drops.
I know upmagic's wins doesnt come from nowhere, but light was fighting uphill for almost all game long, while even when they had even bases, upmagic just had so many minerals he could afford teching to bcs while still pumping units.
Dunno, i feel light was way more focused and played better.

Light had a faster nat, faster unharrassed 3rd, etc.etc. Light led in population most of the series. the advantage shifted when light lost his drop army to upmagic's ground+drop combination.
As his #1 supporter, even I'd have said the same thing if he played piss poor like in game 1 and still won, just to spur him to do better. But damn, he got the hint 15 min into game 2.

You are absolutely correct...
IF you go switch that KTF tag for an eSTRO one.
lol yea...I sported the estro banner before khan and ktf. estro's bigest problem is "strong when fighting strong, weak when fighting weak," a young team I guess.
These days I gotta support Flash out of the big 3. I feel it in his tvt that he's learned a lot from playing upmagic. Next season maybe.

Yeah, his nat was faster, except he had like 8 scvs in the main and 2 in the expo after The wraiths were finally driven off by the goliaths. Up had his mineral line untouched... until he decided to move out and light punished him with constant vult harrass...
Light was ahead in supply but it was mostly scvs mid game, lots of people mentioned this in konas stream.
Light was ahead in supply or barely even after he lost all his army.. :S

Get out of a Live Report thread if you don't want spoilers. The entire thread is a spoiler basically. And I got lazy, but only one game had nukes, I just didn't feel like typing it all out. =/
The fact that both Up and Light are a bit erratic players made this series much more enjoyable. Especially the 3rd game was just hilarious; taking the advantage and spurning it so many times... Seriously, if Flash vs FBH never happened, it would be my favourite TvT ever.
On August 14 2009 05:37 JWD wrote: I guess Up's TvT is still solid! Despite what the OP says Light is not a "mediocre" opponent...
Light plays well enough to be able to take a match off any player any day. However, his lacking Starleague resume puts him into the mediocre terran group for me. Capable of playing brlliantly, and has done well in PL, but has yet to show any consistency in individual tournaments. Till then, he'll forever be considered mediocre in my book.
I'm watching it ongamenet live now (15:09 korean/japanese time). seems like two commentators will fight out, one man and one woman. the guy is a pretty famous commentator, i dont know about the girl, though.
