So, when the whole of Korea is playing SC2 and there is no more young blood for SC you think SC pro scene will survive? You also think that sponsors and corporations are going to pass up an opportunity to be the leaders of the largest, most successful international E-Sport?
SC2 is going to be massive, simply massive. Blizzard is going to pump hundreds of thousands of dollars into SC2. Theres a good chance that Blizzard will try and jumpstart the American E-Sports revolution and its quite possible for an American Proleague. Secondly, GOM will be heavily invested in the International and National Scene and when the corporations and sponsors see the massive success they will instantly jump on board.
Face it, SC1 has at most 2 more years of shelf life. There won't be many more titles to win.

SC already has established sponsors and an established reputation which makes it more attractive to sponsors whereas SC2 is an untested product and you could get another WC3 map altering incident to fix balance happening again
Money speaks, and that money probably isn't leaving SC in korea for quite some time.

I'll say this again. SC Pro scene started up when the game was fairly new still. Balance wasn't at its peak and it flourished. You don't need the extreme sort of balance of current SC1 to have a competitive thriving Pro Scene.

Yes SC2 is coming, but in all likelihood it won't be marketable as an esport product properly until the last expansion. SC will atleast live until then

Eh? SC2 is coming out shortly. At best, there is only 2 more years for pro SC1. There is going to be so much money in SC2, its going to be ridiculous.

Iris winning one more game would mean so much more than effort. Let's face it, effort is a fucking monster and will win many more titles and have many more chances at making a title. This is pretty much iris's last chance. After Shinhan 3/Daum he really fucking deserves another crack at a title.

I know, as much as you would love SC to survive for a hundred years, it simply won't. You can either get with the future or die with the past. Choice is yours.
