it has nothing to do with winrate. Jangbi is just a macro monster and much really can't compete with that sadly

The thumbs down by effort pretty much just karmically doomed CJ to lose 4-1 :D.

FBH and/or Juni have to be heros today. They need to seal the deal.

I'm guessing it is because you can normally take out the hatchery in a 9pool vs 12hatch situation. However the rush distances on this map don't allow for that to happen so um I'm not sure what he was thinking

Attacking the drones is a good way to take unecessary damage while also NOT trapping lings at effort's nat, which is why almost always those lings go for the hat rather than the main.

This strat appears to be completely viable in ZvZ on maps like Heartbreak (and Medusa comes to mind as well) where you can effectively block runbys without too much difficulty.
In the hands of a great Z with perfect mechanics and multitasking, you can get a huge advantage continuously pressing a 1 Hatch opponent with small groups (or even single) of Lings thanks to your 2 Hatch advantage and base defense.
Key is to not make any mistakes and allow a runby, and to keep sneaking units into your opponent's base until you get your Spire and end it with the Larva advantage.

yeah and tbh, Bisu's mainly responsible for Jangbi's relatively low vP win rate

the pathing is a ton shorter on medusa than on heartbreak ridge.
the mechanics and multitasking is starting to come to every player now (in zvz) - the decisionmaking about the build order, and what players think that they can execute feels different for every zerg player.

Dude...there have been so many great ZvZs lately. Pretty much all of Effort's ZvZs in PL playoffs have been amazing...also Kwanro vs. Zero in MSL was sick. Jaedong and Zerg-heavy maps (Battle Royale, RAII) have totally changed ZvZ over the past year and a half or so. This matchup is now a far cry from the BO-determined "whoever has more mutas at X:XX wins" games of a few years back. New levels of micro and tactics have made ZvZ more sophisticated, and more enjoyable to watch, than ever. it's finally starting to turn into a matchup where the more skilled player wins. The thinking depth got a ton harder imo, and, just like the other mirrors, requires making the right choice of build against the opponent and the map. Also I feel that the best ZvZ players have differentiated themselves by being able to adapt to unfavorable BO choices with unprecedented success. This game was a perfect example — Effort proved that smart, practiced choices (pulling drones) and superior micro are enough to defeat 9pool with 12hatch.

for some reason many people think 9 pool is an instawin vs 12 hat it has to be played out perfectly, i think you supposed to bring a drone to opponents expo so you can sunk instantly before lings come out.. it can be defended either way, 9 pool supposed to come out ahead but that doesnt always happen

I will never understand people getting worked up when the players show some life, like showing a thumbs down or taunting the other team. Mostly because the huge group of jaded fucks that call these professionals "the worst ever", or "they need to quit", or that they "sucks ass". I guess it's two different groups of people, though.

Jangbi's pvp is at 50%, but as I said many times in the past, he is like 4 - 8 against bisu. 33.33%! Of the 65 games he played, 12 of them were against bisu. So 1/6 of his pvps were against bisu, which lowers his pvp by a lot. If you look at his record, he has a winning record against most other protosses except maybe like best.
