STATS WOOOO, did anyone see stats v mind, that game was crazy, stats is ktf's up and comming toss after many failed trys and leta is ogns main terran who is quite beastly at the moment, i have a feeling this could go eitherway but because im bias towards ktf im tipping stats,
I have a feeling something will go wrong for KTF, but I always feel that way for the favored team. The competition's just so close this season, but I think it's dying off as teams use their lesser known players starting R2.
edit: FUCK i love how flash doesn't try to act cute like so many other feg players. he may not be manly like reach but he is a dick/prodigy and he kicks ass.
facts:
1.) flash doesn't cry
2.) flash doesn't make cute faces like this nub
(sorry ggplay but you're not jaedong, accept the fact you're ugly and you SUCK JUST FF BEFORE THE GAME WHENEVER YOU PLAY VS FLASH)
3.) flash has good manners
(note the two hand delivery of the umbrella, a sign of respect)

Their coach is spectacular. He's really, really good at maximizing where everyone is.

takes out both armoes, not too much damage. big ball moving towards chals base, and chals forces seem to be... nowhere... but there is a small force of goon/zealot at flash's third causing havoc.
chalrenge just delaying the inevitable. its gg now. big force of gol/tank coming up to 11 o'oclock to reinforce. goliaths take out 1 carrier and damage arbiter severely.

it depend a lot on the effectiveness and the Terran's reaction. cHalRengE probably though he'd panic and send most of his army back and delaying the initial push.
On December 07 2008 14:39 Vivi57 wrote: I'm glad it was chalrenge, any better protoss probably would have been able to win with 7 bases vs 3.
Chalrenge over-extended himself and Flash did great timing push and took down all the bases almost at once. Better protoss wouldn't be so greedy and instead would produce the army as well.
i got to agree that flash timing was flawless 1 more minute to delay that push and P mass expo should had kikcked in. Instead of that he forced those poor recalls taking the P main. Anyone noted how low was flashs vulture count when he pushed?
leta distance mining from 12 but stats spots it with the arbiter goliaths move in and take out an arbiter stats engages with a bunch of storms and takes out some tanks but gets pushed back
It feels like Stats is a good player, except he makes far too many dumb mistakes. This game it was losing so many arbiters carelessly, the game against Mind he lost all his probes carelessly.
i really dont think they're gonna send out luxury. i think ktf coach is trying to be respectful and not use a player recently acquired from OGN against them, especially since his twin is on OGN. maybe next time around, but not on their first ecounter

I dunno if thats the reason or not , but ktf has played ogn before and ktf didnt use luxury then either, so this is actually the second encounter.

o rly. sorry then
edit: yeah you're right, they did play and they actually used luxury, so im a dumbass
I never thought I'd say it, but MBC's coverage is so much superior to OGN's these days it's not even funny. Kang Min and this new ace match introduction are the icing on the cake.
BTW, watching that muta battle again, it's definitely pimpest play material.
And I think sending in flash vs leta woulda been a stronger move than luxury who could lose, but hey maybe they know something we dont, I mean they do get paid for this...

That may be true but it's really about the teams playing. There were so many more people watching the SKT1 stream.

the one thing i gotta say is that OGN commentators are OG's. in many other aspects, MBC is definitely the younger, hipper channel, and their announcers are pretty cool/funny/fly... but OGN commentators can apply starcraft history to their analysis like they're reading it off the back of their hand.

Great for those of use who can't speak Korean^^ (no malicious intent meant).
Let's get this game started I want to go to sleep.
Relatively early scout for both. Leta going wall-in + gas. But scouted but lux's 9th drone. Lux respond with 2 hatch fast gas. HIDDEN FAX FOR LETA. LITTLE BALLER RIGHT HERE
Lux did get back into this game quickly, that's for sure. He was killing stuff in Leta's main and is now being aggressive with Ovie speed and thinning Leta's air army.
Well leta and Luxury have obviously played a lot of games against each other. I'm sure that Leta has tricked Luxury with a similar build to this *at one point*. He feels comfortable playing against leta, and perhaps, even, comfortable playing against him economically behind against two port wraiths, lol. That doesn't mean he'll win, but I'm sure he feels as comfortable as a zerg can be in such a tight spot.
I will say it again: OGN's coach is top notch. He does not make very many wrong Ace decisions, and he yet again right in calling Leta in against Lux. Good job.
On December 07 2008 16:54 mog87 wrote: no he beat mind in ace.
Oh then I'm wrong then. He's 7-7 according to TLPD, so tonight makes him 7-8. He's 0-1 in ace according to Spiral's PL report, so logically he should be 0-2 assuming that Spiral's correct. I guess he's not though, I really don't know.
Fun Fact: OGN now has beaten KTF 7 Times in a row And today was Yellow and Luxury's birthday which is why OGN and KTF fans brought cake. Too bad they lost

Oh, that was in the box. Oh, the fact that they lost is really sad.
I think flash woulda been better, Leta been great since midway last seaon, but he only usually seems to falter when facing A class terrans, not that hes bad at the MU, for example the crappy msl? group he got put in with Iris and Forgg(who had a similiar problem, until recently i guess), he would have made it out of any other group probably. Oh well this is why ogn has a good record, good decisions.

Nah, Leta came really, really prepared tonight. He played great.
Another fun fact. Leta comes from Sea, the same clan of Nada and Sea lore. Leta is really like Sea - ridiculously good, a consistent Ace, Terran with a ridiculous amount of APM (Terran who come out of Sea are known to be fast) but can't make it far in leagues.

its sad nobody cares about Leta I mean the guy is ridiculously good, yet nobody makes fun of him or even talks about him

he looks like a mom.
he's been clutch since last season's proleague throughout the playoffs.

does he really have 11 wins
flash can beat him EZ
Doesn't matter if Flash can beat him or not Because the end result is what really mattered, and KTF lost

Leta has only tried to get into a league once, give him a break man lol. He's still an up and comer- though a very solidified one.

This is so true. Could of, should have, would have, ladida. It's easy to say who should have been sent out after the match is already played. Flash could have lost as well, and everybody would have been like, "wtf why didn't they send out Leta?".
SKT's coaches have been great (both oov/kingdom and beijjang/afficiando). Their problems have always been player wise.
KTF's coaching has always sucked or something. The bat, the hery[hyo] debacles...
As for Flash vs Lux. Lux is bad this season, making Flash by far the better ace choice. Well he would be anyway, given that he's the #1 player in proleague. The issue with sending Flash every single Ace match is burn out from overuse; which is why he went from bonjwa level domination to just a #2 Terran and 'good' player back in the summer.

After I haven't seen Lux in the line-up and seeing that he is in the line-up for next games (indictaing that coaches still belioeve in him) I thought it is really probable that KTF will send him for the Ace (especially after Lux dismantled Mind at the very same map). And if I could predict I'm sure OGN coach have predicted that as well. I think in that situation would be better to send Flash and just give Lux a break... OGN coaches are so good in all thos Mind games, sigh... Don't get me wrong, I think actually this game KTF coaches didn't make much of mistake. Stuff like that happens.
What is less forgiveable is tha fact that they have snet Hery and Violet(!) twice in the recent past which really fucked KTF position in the proleague. That is what should have never happen.

Although Haji disagrees, it really seems to me like KTF does not have ANY consistently good players other than Flash. 815, Lucifer, Hery, Sair, can all win games, but they can also lose them handily.
I think if KTF was just replaced by Flash they would have a better record. I guess they have no choice but to give other players experience so they can improve, but it also seems like all the "other" players don't have what it takes.
I guess they'll just suck until they can come up with a consistent line up, or until Lux starts winning so they can just win a total of 3 matches with Flash and Lux in some combination...
do u guys understand that if they always send flash not only will it create no depth/experience for the other players, but it'll burn out flash from overplaying?

I doubt playing 2 games in one night, or sending him out for ACE in pivotal situations will burn him out considering he practices like 12 hrs a day. The first point however has merit.

I beg to differ. That is what happened to Flash last season. Especially when all the leagues will kick i I really hope new coaches will give the kid break from time to time. That's why I'm not bitching about sending Lux for the ace. It was reasonable to expect that Lux will take down Leta. Well he doesn't and I can express my disappointment but I won't blame coaches for that.
However, many times the line-ups for KTF are really suprising to say at least and I am puzzled by their choices of players. Hery and Violet should never play again unless they vastly improve. KTF has enough of decent players to support Flash and Lux; like Sair, Tempest, 815, Lucifer, Stats and Firefist. Also I hope they will bring HoeJJa who showed some great ZvP in the GomTV.
Lux is in a bit of a slump right now. I can deal with that. I just wish the KTF coaches could figure that out and stop sending him for ace, especially with how good Flash has looked lately.
KTF's lineup has a lot of potential, but as far lineup and ace decisions go, the coaches keep screwing up.
Leta is so amazing. I've been cheering for him since back when he was only a TvT-monster on wuthering heights, where he defeated nearly everyone despite being the extreme rookie versus most of his opponents.
I think Leta won that last game in typical Leta fashion, by doing a strange and unexpected build, like he seems to do everytime i TvZ. He's never gone wraiths before, and that probably put luxury off.
And to those of you who lack in Leta-knowledge, he was knocked out of OSL prelims by jaedong, but in clubdayMSL prelims he beat han (the protoss who beat jaedong in OSL prelims...). He was finally knocked out in ro32 by forGG and Iris, two rather "capable" TvTers.

I think this isn't important. Changing team means a lot of changes in players life, change of routine, change of practice partners and so on. When some big name changes team in fotball or hockey, he usually also don't have that great result from the start.
As much as I hate their losing games, I really respect KTF's coaching decisions to bring out the new talent. Currently KTF has two stars, only one of whom is auto-win. Even if (and when!) Flash goes on another fifteen game tear, they're *still* going to be losing matches 1-3 or 2-3 unless they improve their depth - not to mention they'll be worthless in a best of seven. KTF is planning for the future and a couple of losses in the short term are to be expected. We're already seeing some of the new talent step it up, especially in the protoss - sooner or later, KTF is going to get there.
Last season KTF was a one-man team except for that period were Lucifer seem to be a worthy heir to Nal_ra's throne. They thought that with Lux they will a two-man team, and be able to push it to the ace game and hopefully either Lux or Flash would win it. Pretty risky, considering that if any one of your two main guys failed to deliver, the team is in deep shit, and lately, Luxury has not delivered enough. Fortunately, they have 3-4 guys who look very promising, and make them a balanced team in the future.
Oh, and Leta, like I always say, most underrated terran. Few terrans have such elegance in their play style.
Sair will peform..815 seems to be easing his depression from blue storm no longer being played, Violet and Hery probably shouldnt be played in the same match..against any team, but they should still get chances to prove theselves.
