because I feel like there's no way a private company like daum should be able to access a korean citizen's ssn to double check to see if it's real. at least I'm hoping so... | ||

It might not be appropriate to discuss this, but Korean SSNs follow a very specific pattern, which is how they can be verified without direct access to a main database. Sort of like your credit card. It goes something like birthdate, sex, street address. There are programs that can generate them. | ||
