I don't mind the banter at all if I've already seen the game, and always appreciate Artosis giving insights even if he isn't perfect. XUN doesn't really understand what he's watching it feels like, but unlike Tasteless he doesn't probe or ask questions where Tasteless does a good job at getting Artosis to flesh things out more. Xun is sometimes a little to occupied building a hype narrative around the players and their performance and how prestigious ASL off stage is. Its too much hype building when that much hype is not warranted. But beside that he is pretty good.

Yes, it's just a pain to listen to casters that don't understand the game well or either have difficulty with public speaking.
Let me tell you something: You're not missing out on anything if you don't watch an English cast. In general the ASL observer is top notch and that's really all you need. Even if you don't understand Korean, the Korean casters will still let you know when something exciting is happening. And nothing beats watching live without having to be annoyed about whatever bullshit - be it a wrong read, fake hype, offtopic banter. etc. - the caster is saying.

Don't worry. There is an alternative, sctven where saiyan and xun are commentating! Much more enjoyable and high level english casts.

Another ASL, another season of sSak choking.
Being dead serious, sSak chokes harder than Shuttle and is literally an A rank player except for in TvT, where he's somehow literally the best TvT player in the world by far

Maybe that's just you. This is like watching anime or a foreign film with their native language and no english subtitles. Like if you would rather watch koreans instead of english cast just watch it on mute like zero difference lol
I'd rather I understand wtf they are talking about cause there is no point listening to casters if you dont even understand it. Besides if they have the wrong take or not casting the game at all. Dont you just ignore them and move on lol
Like personally I dont mind listening to somebody outside the languages I know so long they have translation but without their translation it's pretty pointless like seriously watch on mute

... Game sound? Why mute that?
Also, how is it like an anime? It's a competitive match - not a character study.
And what about the energy of the casters? Counts for nothing?
Also - you say "just ignore the mistakes". Why is it important to understand something you're going to ignore?
Truly one of the more baffling takes. Most oldschool BW fans watched with Korean commentary during the KeSPA days and loved it.

Afreeca would have never paid Tastosis to cast ASL if it didn't improve English viewership and people wouldn't pay Tastosis $120,000+ a year to cast ASL if Korean casting was generally agreed to be good enough.

When i first got into BW my english was 0%. So me and my friends from Spain will tune into the Korean stream. And for years and years i will just get used to that. CRushooo Playguuu will hit like crack. Surely we didnt understand shit but for me i will just enjoy it like music really lol. Later on my english got a bit better and i started listening to tasteless casting with the gom tv tourneys. But for proleagues and OSL /MSL it will be exclusively Korean casting. But that is proly a more personal case.
