Like the 3 arbiters here, they did not even spam all their spells. Get better with arbiter, man! It 's been quite long since I've seen a big, swooping, paralysing stasis on a terran ground army.

When shuttle templar meta happened terrans started to pay much more attention to splitting tanks up to avoid losing all of them to well placed storm. Light specifically introduced a new method of very rapidly splitting tanks up and sieging them individually. Mind was somewhat doing the same thing. Tanks were spread out so well that stasis can hardly get any.

It 's been quite long since I've seen a big, swooping, paralysing stasis on a terran ground army. It's not that useful really. This game has a pretty weird opening, on a weird map, and Mind was soooo conservative, that's the only reason Free got to 3-4 Arbiters full of energy. Situations like this are a rarity. Plus, there's nothing to pratice on stasis. It's just one click. The issue is the players dont have the omni vision us viewers have. A lot of the times we thought "terrible stasis" but that's only because we see the rest of the tank line but the players don't and they're just scraping to hit a stasis before the Arbiter gets killed/emp'd. Yeah and like RJB said, only mediocre Terrans make clumped tanks these days.

Yes tanks are not clumped as in the old days. But I thought the whole point for free was that he could put out a lot of stasises a - sequentially, always chipping away from the marching army, ie. not let the terran set up the position terran wishes to set up b - parallel, when terran arrives you have 6 stasises. Six means that all the spread army can be mostly covered in chrystal. That wasn't the case in this match, in this battle either. They could get more observers, or lock down goliaths with dragoons while the arbiters come from the back, etc. I don't subscribe to the thought that "yes this is all there is to arbiters" because broodwar always proves that actually there is always more.

Yeah I mean if we talk about that game Free could have and should have like 3 more stasis on the tanks even if it only covers 1 2 tanks, but his clumsy control... my god. But if we talk about PvT in general it's not really useful. Rarely do we see more than 1 Arbiter, if not at all, on the field these days. The only micro Protoss should practice is how micro the Reavers like Snow.

In both matches, Free showed great macro skills, and below average army control. Allthough placing robotics in a way that a reaver cannot get out of base questions his 'great macro', so yeah, he is just an average joe (compared to other progamers at least).

God, watching him just destroy Terrans feels as good as it always did. The way he confidently took fights in situations that I could see another Protoss backing off and waiting really reminded me of the era where he was one of the dragons. Really hope he makes a deep run.

happy that Stork finally made it out of Ro24! and he's looking good. Was excited to see either JyJ or Mind come out too, I forgot that they had played in the finals of ASL 15. There aren't enough zergs for JyJ to mow thru this time around, so I don't expect him to get as far as that season.
