let's not get carried away. Flash was a 3x asl winner and held #1 elo spot for 3 years on sponbbang. Rush only managed to hit #1 elo for like 2 days and is still now top 5~8.

apparently soulkey is the only zerg who can beat rush even soma and hero get crushed i doubt queen would've been able to do much better than hero either tbh

With FlaSh level I only meant about macro not everything. You gotta agree, his macro was impressive all along - just look at reinforcements and whenever obs showed his base all his rax were non-stop flashing.

Someone dared to compare Flash to regular pro. SACRILEGE.

On the protoss side, I feel like 6 months ago, snow or best would have been favored against Rush. Do you think that's still the case? In any case, I think Rush is a sizeable favorite against mini.

Rush is a favorite because Mini's TvP is not up to par with his other matchups. That's the primary focus over here.

Do you think that's still the case? In any case, I think Rush is a sizeable favorite against mini. Snow and Best are both favored against Rush, ONLINE. Rush is like 35-40% against them in 2021. Best regularly crushed him on stream tbh. Surprisingly Rush is also only 47% or so against Mini.
All of them Protoss are expected to choke when it comes to offline tourneys though.

Rush is getting pretty close to Flash. His TvZ isn’t quite as good but his TvP is getting there. His macro is insane, but he should learn to play defensively more like Flash, who is a master of calculated aggression. I don’t watch TvT but apparently rush is pretty good at that too
|
Wow rush was the man. His multitask is insane. Worried for mini.

Rooting for Mini. It will be a good series. More experience vs less experience.

Not sure if I want to root for Legend of the Fall or ASL12ChampRush. Both finalists have been playing their asses off slaying the best zergs in the world. What other Protoss would be favoured against Zero in a BoX let alone win ezpz 4-1? Likewise, Hero made Light look like a noob and yet Rush just straight up obliterated both Hero and Soma. Should be a close series either way; Mini and Rush are 57-57 in their last 114 sponbangs and 8-8 in the past two months.
Interesting tidbit: last season, we were 1 game away (if Rush won his last set against Larva) from having the exact same semifinals bracket as this season. And once again we have a Zero vs Hero 3rd place match .

My prediction for the finals: Mini 4-3

Late to the Rush hype train, but wow, his TvZ games are absolutely mind-blowing!
I can understand the Flash-esque vibes. His sharp sense of timing has shades of Flash's star-sense of turning the tide when Zerg is in ascendancy.*
Really hoping for the Legend of the Fall to be fulfilled. So I'm torn between Mini and Rush.
But the best news is already in - no more Zerg scum!
* None of the other post-KeSPA Terrans give me the same chills of Flash. Not even Light (who's super solid but seems to lack that extra touch of instinct and genius)

Last game was a nail-biter. You couldn't really tell who was going to win, herO was fighting well, also killing almost all the vessels. But Rush kept it together, he regrew the vessel numbers and achieved successful ereasers. Missing the burrow was crucial, but the fact that Rush just played mass MM and won against hive tech zerg with exceptional macro and multitask, not even incorporating drops, shows superior technical ability.

This series was fantastic in the sense that Rush really pushed hero to the limit and gave us a classic TvZ series. I noticed several games where hero would be floating 1k minerals while having to fend off all kinds of attacks on the map. On that point, the hyper aggression of Rush was so great. He's been winning me over during this run, and his macro is on point as well. I only recall an instance where he floated a bit of money, but otherwise, his game was solid. That last game was probably one of the best TvZs I've seen this year, ranks right up there. I got spoiled a bit and figured by 2/3rd of the way in that Rush will take it, but hero made him work for it.
Only thing disappointing from hero was that it felt like he didn't want to adjust from his 12 hatch 12 pool 12 extractor build. I could be wrong, but he didn't bother with any early pools despite knowing that Rush has a hyper aggressive playstyle. Either way, congrats to Rush! I wouldn't go to the point of calling him a Flash equivalent, but he's a rising Terran player, and imo, the best Terran atm (Light and Sorry are still good). Imagine if Rush actually beats Mini (this might be tough only because Mini is crafty, even if his PvT isn't his best), and wins several ASLs back to back lol. The Protoss and Zerg dream would end

Talk of Rush getting close to Flash is just absurd, especially in TvP. Right now he's getting demolished by Best on stream. Granted it's more of a practice session, but still, the score so far is 9-2 to Best. Flash wouldn't.
I think he just hit his form during this ASL plus a favorable bracket.

Man last game was one of the best of the tournament!
