If the opponent has any detection they all die in seconds. It is very easy for Protoss to have tons of detection when going Carriers because there's nothing else to use the robo for. 2. Carriers have 4 base armor so it's not even like Wraiths do that much damage. 3. Wraiths cost tons of gas that could go to Goliaths instead. 4. To make any significant number of Wraiths you need extra Starports, which you usually won't have in TvP. Sometimes it works as a desperation move but you'd always rather have a critical mass of upgraded Goliaths. | ||

Wraiths do pretty well vs carriers though, even when they're seen. Unless a lot more resources were put into the Carrier fleet than the Wraith one (which happens a lot, and is why ppl think Wraiths suck vs Carriers). Maybe the problem was Sea had already dumped tons of 'antiair money' into Goliaths, so if he buys a big Wraith fleet as well (which he'd have to, GC had a lot of carriers), even if he beats down the Carriers, Gol + Wraith ain't so great as a big part/mainstay of his army vs goons and HTs (the rest of GuemChi's army). (?) But I could be wrong. Maybe Sea just didn't have the gas. | ||
