Clearly you've never played a TvT and how defender's advantage works in that MU

TvT forever, what a great finals. Every game was great for a different reason. I'm so happy right now.

Second time I've seen a Flash game casted by Tasteless go to BCs. Second time Flash lost the game that went to BCs. Not sure what it means. At least this time the other Terran wasn't some guy I've not heard of before or since.

Oh, found the vod. Terran was Memory.

Can someone who speaks Korean please help me do a rough translation of what Britney and Leta said between 46:26 to 49:00?

nothing special.
they're impressed that flash pushed the 6 o clock and how he won the bc fight, but sea is still happy because they know flash probably has literally 0 resources.
also saying even if flash loses you have to shit out blood to beat him

That was an enjoyable final. TvT can be painful but that felt interesting and refreshing after such a long time.

Sick match. Tastosis were on point as well, the hype from Tasteless is unreal. Flash fought incredibly well in game 2 but he was too passive after he won the big fight, Sea had too many resources and just needed time to win.

I was sad when JD lost to Flash, as I'd have prefered TvZ finals. However, this final was pretty damn epic!! Sea fought really well and showed some amazing micro plays, but it's damn good seeing Flash that happy after the win!

I have been away and couldnt watch the games live. Just watched jaedong vs flah the other day and it was the same day I turned 30. It gave me such a warm feeling to watch that great series now and to see them back at that big stage again after all this time. It was really special.
"To all eSports fans, I want to be remembered as a progamer who can make something out of nothing, and someone who always does his best. I think that is the right way of living, and I'm always doing my best to follow that." - Jaedong. /watch?v=jfghAzJqAp0

Totally missed this starleague as I rarely visit TL these days. I am extremely happy to see that the scene seems to be alive again! And my boy Flash winning! That always brings tears of joy!

The final was great. But it seems that Sea got really shaken by game 2, even though he won. During the break between game 2 and 3 Flash was super focused while Sea was looking distracted, shaking his head, moving in the chair. Then he made a couple of weird decisions in game 3, and game 4 was just pretty bad from him.

Now, the first two games were awesome. Really great TvTs. Though not as good as some of the best TvT with Flash as those vs FBH and Leta on Medusa, Upmagic in OSL, or Fantasy in MSL.

Finally, I haven't watched BW for a loooong time, but did meta changed in TvT? I remember it being more positional, but instead both Flash and Sea played really aggressively early to early-mid game.

Edit: Apparently this is my post #4444 Good post# to celebrate Flash winning 7th SL

Wraith play is a lot more common now and dropship play less so. Currently wraiths and wraith switches are big in the meta, which makes it harder to keep dropships alive and/or find good angles of attack. This has impact on how and where T positions itself and how hard they dig into a given location, so the games end up looking fairly different.

Thanks! This makes sense and explains early armories in many of the builds. Seems like I need to catch up on the newest trends.

Not so new I think. Lomo and Skyhigh(?) popularised wraith play in TvT and TvZ around 2009 if my memory is correct.

Hmm, Lomo in TvT probably, and I remember Leta using wraiths in TvZ as his main build. In TvT wraiths were much more common than in TvZ but still not THAT common where dropship play used to the standard. At least that's how I remember it.

Dazed.

Lomo didnt popularized wraiths in anything, he just did cheesy wraith builds briefly and flickered out because he was bad. Didnt innovate or contribute at all.

Wraiths have always been used in TvT, but the building of 4+ starports for a huge wraith fleet as a standard go-to option is new (it started at the end of the KeSPa era).* Someone, probably classicyellow, recently translated Flash as saying that you can try going for dropships these days but that it's really difficult because of all the wraiths. And now players even add Valkyries. Kind of weird that the formerly obscure Valkyrie is now a standard unit in one matchup.

*It did happen before, but not commonly...
May the BeSt man win.
