The second point is crucial - how are you supposed to organize a team without knowing who you can recruit? That's not a "negative contribution", it's something organizers need to know.

We aren't encouraging merged countries at this point, but it is a possibility. We also have a stand-in policy ready, so nations should primarily focus on their own activity and then once we have an idea of how active a nation is, we will review the options available for their situation.

well, Gecko has a good point. though, you shouldn't lael his comment as not helpful so quick. Not even the countries with a rather active player pool will be able to send ten players, which is a shame. Sending 5 players on the other hand, would be a thing that is doable for some, butt will still need some countries to merge. If you force teams to have 10 players, we very well might have a "central europe" team. And that will be quite boring. For example, Germany could probably field 5 players, 3x 1on1 and 1x 2on2 in (Z)Bakuryu, v(Wiki)anatir, (T)Cryoc + whoever plays the best 2on2 atm, but 10 players is completely undo-able. Russia, Poland, Sweden or whoever is left won't be able to nominate 10 guys either.

In short: don't take this comments as a negative, but as a sign of positive interest from players. Furthermore i strongly suggest making the teams smaller.

If the players are active and can attend the clan wars, then there is no need to have 10 players on the roster, but for a team as small as you're describing, we probably want to look at some stand-in options by players from out of country.

i was just throwing some names around. What your saying is way to inexplicit by the way. I mean if an organizer tries to contact all the players in order to form a team, he needs to have certainty if the lineup he presents is enough or not. It would be silly do waste a lot of time and effort only to have the TO assign players to your team, becasue they deem it to small.

So how many players does a team need precisly to get accepted?

It's not an exact science... Ideally, we want to avoid walk overs wherever possible. It really depends on the players that sign up and their dedication. As the rules indicate, 10 is the number of players required for a team, however, exceptions can be made. ~ If 10 players are not available, the nation can request stand-ins or can request to play with as few as 7 players on their roster. ~ Neither option can be guaranteed depending on the activity of the other nations and activity of the potential players not signed up from the nation running the request.

First off, I'd probably be interested in a sort-of organizer role for Germany. However, not the main admin, more a supporting role for infrastructure, news and so on. I guess Cele will jump in soon enough. Anyhow...

There are still open questions and some of the rules give me a headache. For instance the stand-in section: From the top of my head I could think of at least one player who does not "reside" in Germany, but Switzerland. He is German. I still need an exception for that? Not that you have any way to actually find out where he's really from or where he's playing, given that there are border regions and areas which share languages to a certain extent (DE/AT/CH + parts of CZ/DK/PL/FR, FR/NL/BE, UK, ...).
Next, what do you understand by "culture resemblance"? Almost all EU and Western countries share somewhat similar "cultural" views.

Also, the map section is kind of strange. It was standard to set one or two maps as starting maps (1v1 and 2v2), more doesn't make much sense. I like the idea that you try to use foreigner maps. However, making them more popular is easier if you set them as MOTW one by one, not all of them at the same time, including vetoes. Since we're with vetoes, it'd be easier to make a pool per week (7 maps, 2 vetoes), otherwise the veto idea will swamp you and start to get annoying over time; plus FS always as loser choice.

Last, and most important, who are you?. You keep saying it's "the organization, the organizers" - that's not a person. I know it's you Eywa and I have no problem trying your event. However, I will not risk to throw away my spare time if it's only you. You're bound to miss one or two weeks due to real life issues - and that's not meant as personal offense. I'd really appreciate a full list of your co-workers.

Concerning the stand-in rule, if the player permanently resides in Switzerland, then it does count as an exception, however, it is a very easy exception to sort out and would be approved very quickly. If it's temporary residence, then it isn't an exception.

Cultural resemblance is just to make it clear that we're not accepting USA with a German stand-in and we're not accepting Russia with a stand-in from the UK. It's very loosely placed borders, but I think it's good enough to meet the purpose, it allows several countries in Europe to overlap on the player pool available.

Concerning maps, the foreigner maps will only be played if the players want to play them. There are 2 vetoes per week and at most 2 new maps in the pool. After that, it's player selection for which, as you indicated, it'll most likely be familiar map choices such as FS. We can change it so that the map pool only contains the maps listed every week (for 1v1 only), but that doesn't seem like it'll get the best reception from the players. It seems better to assign 1 map per player and then allow them to choose their preferred map from the full pool which is how i is set up currently.

Unsure if the rules say so already, but there is supposed to be a no duplicate rule within the Bo3 for map selection. Will be added if it's not already there.

What's the purpose of map per player? One map for all 1v1 makes a lot more sense. Double map rule makes sense, but not sure if you can really inforce it, especially since most players will either ignore it or agree to use it twice. Not that I like it or anything, but that's usually what happens in leagues and minor tournaments.

Im quite okay with you showing interest in beeing the team captain/whatever for Team Germany. I'd like to contribute to this obviously and i'll think the situation will most likely be one, where players figure out themselves who plays where and when and where, as you said, we could take care of News/infrastructure/ that kind of stuff. Dissapointed to see you hold on to the 10 player rosters. Let's see if we can gather enough players for a Ger/Swiss/Austria Team, which seems the way to go atm.
