bisu has a bunch of goons on the high ground doing nothing while his natural gets owned, larva has more rallied units moving on the mini map, if bisu stabilizes he has a chance to come back. Bisu should consider making some dts, the 12oclock nexus goes down
Nice maneuver from Bisu, one zealot dragged all the lings in the main, 4 got in nat, but he lost his sairs in the process. Larva dealing with that really well imo.
Still not enough damage from bisu, he manages to kill a couple drones at the third. He needs to expand or transition out of these small zealot attacks as he's just losing units for free
Bisu now has sairs on the map with +1 but tossed aside by larva's spore. Bisu sends a couple zlots in the natural to delay mining and sneaks a dark templar into the third which forces a drone pull but wont do more than that and a single drone kill
larva does a ling attack on the cannons in the natural where bisu blocks it after losing the cannons. Bisu is actually at 6gateways, I didnt see the other one in the natural. Bisu has an army of 2 archons and zlots with +1 and sairs, and launches an attack on the third of larva who has only a handful of hydra and 2 sunkens
On February 27 2014 19:50 Heartland wrote: I'm not an expert on BW, but how did Bisu win there? Zerg seems to be able to survive those attacks in most games I've watched
Zerg who survive those attacks typically have a much larger hydralisk count when they do hold that third base; and can still rely on some sunkens as a last ditch measure. Couple that with Larva having a lower economy from all the lost mining time because of harassment, and he doesn't have the defenses to hold fast lots+Archon.
On February 27 2014 19:50 Heartland wrote: I'm not an expert on BW, but how did Bisu win there? Zerg seems to be able to survive those attacks in most games I've watched
In my mind: Mining time lost due to harassment / early money invested into lings instead into drones / lost some scourge carelessly to the corsair flock / 3rd base position (same reinforcement-distance for both players). Things adding up, basically.
Larva takes the third @ the gas in the bottom right corner and has a decent lair timing, bisu scouts everything so far and we'll have to see how he adjusts
Larva goes for the gateway, gateway goes down, bisu pulls the probes and kills many lings. I feel like this is a muta all in follow up for larva if the lings fail, but the lings bust down the front door and get in
Bisu manages to barely hold on for now, the zealot he snuck onto the map earlier is STILL doing damage, bisu loses all defending zlots and has only 6probe and a cannon (morphing) which FINALLY goes up, he is barely alive for now, larva continues to send in lings. Bisu's zealot had 11kills, maybe Bisu should sac his natural
if bisus scouting probe that went to the top left had come down to his natural he would have seen the masses of lings T_T might be enough warning to put down like 2 more cannons
On February 27 2014 19:59 GeLaar wrote: The fuck is this shit. Did Bisu prepare at all? Zerglings is basically all Larva knows, and he makes one cannon and one Zealot?!
Well Larva is playing very smart and Bisu is not adjusting to the deviations in the builds Larva has prepared. The firt game seemed like a standard facepalm, Larva went mass hydra mid game and Bisu didn't scout or defend well. In this game (matchpoint) Bisu saw low econ fast lair and chose to send his first zealot away to harass instead of defend or add an additional cannon
Bisudagger, I don't believe that you didn't find it until now. You probably found it ages before but he hasn't accepted your friend request and you've pretended that it hasn't happened until now.

He said he hadn't played PvZ in a while in the pre-game interview. It seems like all the times Larva's been practicing with Bisu is paying off somewhat, not over yet though!

If that's true (that he hasn't played PvZ in a while) then that's the most arrogant thing I've seen Bisu do to date, and he deserves to get eliminated.

Maybe no one wanted to practice with him lol. (it doesn't help that Bisu didn't return the favor to ssak when he helped him practice).
bisu leaves a spotting ob to intercept drops @ the bottom of his base and does a push but he doesnt have enough stuff, dont know why he attacked so soon with only 1 reaver and no high templar larva does a huge push and bisu is in huge trouble
still only 1 reaver out, a couple templars join the mix. Bisu's army is primarily dragoons at this point and he needs a third base soon. He attempts a ninja expand in the top right, Larva has map control but has to rebuild drones. Bisu still in a lead
here comes a monster push, if Bisu doesnt mess up the micro i think he should win the game. Bisu storms his own shuttle and it dies but he can definitely take a third base now
tons of hydras on the map bisu needs to organize his shit, the reavers are a bit exposed without shuttle but there are too many goons and storms so larva is forced to retreat. Im sensing a gg soon from larva, bisu's army is absolutely huge and larva is stuck on 5hatch hydra
nvm. Gate first gets straight scouted by the overlord...
On February 27 2014 20:24 dRaW wrote: Waldo spotted (inside joke, we were playing where's Waldo and Waldo was a girl in the SSL crowd, we couldn't find one until now)
maybe he will do 2hatch hydra all in? we'll find out soon, larva makes 4lings total and bisu blocks the ramp with a zealot and a probe, sgate on the way. Third hatch for larva so it will be 3 hatch hydras into lair
Bisu pushes onto the map with a goon and a zealot, the goon intercepts an overlord but it lives with 1 shot remaining, then he kills it with a sair and his forces retreat. Larva made a few lings. Still unsure of larva's decisions, maybe he will get hydras just to defend and do a ling bust. Still no lair and he is -1more overlord and making a creep colony to defend bisu's possible forces (the creep was just cancelled). Larva tries to do a ling runby and gets 2 lings into the main but they have no speed
Bisu removs 1 probe off gas and loses a probe to the 2 lings. Bisu has a forge and nexus on the way but no templar tech so he cant really defend a heavy timing attack if Larva goes for one. The one benefit for Bisu is he's still killing overlords which will keep Larva's timing delayed. larva denies BOTH cannons and starts to pour in the lings now though
Still no lair so if bisu holds on larva is in serious trouble but larva denied another pair of cannons. one cannon FINALLY goes up but bisu needs more cannons because larva's econ and tech isnt in the best condition
more lings on the way, bisu pulls the probes and blocks successfully this time, larva tries again out of desperation. Larva takes a third and resumes drone production but his tech is very late
yeah, larva shows frustration, more zealots with +1 than hydras, very goo drone drill butLarva is losing too much and hes still behind in tech, unfortunate for larva but its gg

It's worse cause your econ is worse so you have less to deal with mass lings. Lings are easy to kill with gas, it worked out for him in the end though.
Overall I give the series a C+/B- grade, Larva had a good strategy but some games looked a bit sloppy and nothing really was too creative or went to epic late game.

Interviewer: Larva's Zergling-heavy style seemed to give you some trouble today. Are there any points that you are not satisfied with, regarding your games today?
Bisu: Yes, his use of Zerglings and control are very good, so I ended up losing games 1 and 3.
Interviewer: You used mind games in the last game.
Bisu: Yes, that was intentional psychological play on my part. Double Nexus gets played so much, so I thought I'd throw him off by opening with gateway first, and it worked.
Interviewer: Any words for your fans?
Bisu: Today's match gave me some confidence to make it to the finals.
I'm so happy... got to love that series if you're a bisu fan.

First series was great, constant action. Second series on the other hand...well let's just say I don't expect Kwanro will be a real challenge for Bisu based on those games. I hope, and I imagine most people do, to see a Bisu vs Hero final.

Wtf, the first series were such a rush of aggression all the place. Nobody turtled, non stop movement and micro ubiquitously. Although agreeable that the 2nd serie was shit barring the first game which wasn't high level by any means but just plain hilarious and the last game. Kwanro never decelerated his Mutas. The result could've have been totally reversed if Mini had two more extra storms that will allow him to secure a third and macro behind it. Only two storms, that's how cutting edge it was.

I suppose there was uncharacteristic plays from Bisu in that game. But I myself abhor (wow that's a strong word) macro oriented type of games. And no matter what the result was, Bisu still won at the end.

Yeah Larva beeing the current top zvp player of the whole scene you expect a W.O for bisu ? Bvz is still A p r o t o s s
Well, I don't think Larva made an effort to transition to sc2. so he's been streaming and practicing BW since the end of the scene for a long time now, whereas Zero only recently returned.
Larva is a good, if not top Z player right now. I don't think you should hold the fact he was a b-teamer back in 2012 against him.
Larva's additional advantage (if you want to call it that) is that he was Bisu's practice partner in ZvP ever since Bisu got back. So not only does he have the SKT Telecom 1 experience of playing BvZ, he also understands Bisu's current form and style much more than any other progamer. The fact that he's less skilled than, say hero or Killer is probably made up for by his familiarity with Bisu. That said, I think Kwanro's the true danger to Bisu. hero will play Bisu straight up and while he might win a few games, he won't be able to really match Bisu pound for pound, skill-wise. Kwanro, on the other hand, knows how to cheese properly in series play, which has proven time and again to be Bisu's true weakness in PvZ.
Bisu was being slightly Storkish (greedy 1 can only expand vs zerglings), but still has his godly micro and multitasking. He'd better be more careful in the semis against Pikachu.
Also nice 17 kills dragoon in game 5!
e: And why was Mini vs Kwanro rated 5 stars wtf.
