Huh, they haven't played vs each other for like ages, so I don't know what "recent" games you're talking about. Reach used to have quite a favorable record vs him though (he's probably the only P Kingdom doesn't have a winning record against).
Still, Kingdom trained on this map for like the whole Proleague while Reach almost never played on it, so I think it would have been a close, close encounter.
Anyway, putting Sync was indeed a weird choice. Requiem is one of the rare maps which has proved to be both T < Z and T < P... well I guess they figured out T1 players wouldn't be practicing a lot against Terran on that map and tried to take advantage of it. Bad deal.

i disagree with whoever said ktf should have sent reach on requiem though, since reach was 3-4 onit in proleague -_-

why boxer has always to play tvt tell me why?is his tvz banned or something?

Their most recent encounters, KT-KTF and some proleague match(es), Reach beat Kingdom every time. Sure, that has been a loooong time ago, but Reach's performances against other top protosses during the whole entire time proves he's right up there at the top.
The main thing though is that Reach would have been a WORLD of a better choice than Sync to play on Requiem. I would give Reach a greater-than-50% chance to win regardless of what MU he gets (with vs gorush perhaps right at 50%; remember he did beat Gorush the last time they played on Requiem. The PvZ record on this map is right at 44-44). I personally would never even put Sync in 1v1 games at all. But if the coach just has to put Sync to play in 1v1, Requiem was absolutely the worst decision possible as the map to let him play on.

Who else would you have sent to play vs Kingdom on a P-favored map? Kingdom has played on Requiem for SKT1 for the season. No one has a better shot than Reach. Chojja lost to Kingdom last time. Putting him on Rush Hour II was a better choice anyway. Kingdom > rA most of the time. Putting any terrans on Requiem is a waste. Only real choice left is Yellow, who always choke in Proleague. PvZ stats on Requiem is dead even. Reach is the best choice as far as I see it.

8 points go down the drain Fucking SKT1
hehe i droped like 100 places in the liquibet ranking

I was disappointed with the games we got, maybe Chojja oov was nice, but didn't get to properly see big face offs- Gorush rA, Reach Oov, Yellow Boxer would've owned (not that it would ever match up like I want it to) etc..
Boxer's 1 fac cc with no add on build was terrible considering the enormous risk it has against any build -_-
Chojja vs Oov was a nice game, Chojja had a nice game plan and seemed to have the advantage early game but lost out to Oov's cheater timing attacks.
Sync on Requiem was unlucky, I think they were expecting Boxer or Gorush.
I was disappointed with the quality of the teamplay games, the strats they tried to pull off failed, even Rainbow's reavers backfired big time. Ah well, finally it's over, let's start again soon!

His tvz just happens to be sexier

The most entertaining part is listening to tfeign's excuses and how he pretends to have a better knowledge of the players and matchups than the KTF coach or team themselves.
They practice with each other like 9 hours a day and are in daily communication with each other. I think they know their team and abilities better than you do and have reasons to put certain players in certain games.
In Starcraft anything can happen. KTF lost based off of decisions made nano-seconds apart IN the matches WHILE they were played, not because of statistics, past matchups, or internet debates.

The problem was that they didn't know T1 was going to send Kingdom on that map. I bet KTF predicted GoRush, and hence they sent sync.
GoRush >> Reach on requiem.
Also, for all we know, Sync could have told the team coach that he would be confident in facing either Kingdom or GoRush on Requiem...

They didn't know ahead of time Kingdom would play on that map, but common sense would easily say it. Kingdom has always played for SKT1 on Requiem, and has a killer record 7-1 record on it. There's just no reason why SKT1 would put anyone else other than Kingdom to play on Requiem unless they just want to be fancy for dumb reasons like the KTF coach, pitting pz out on Usan Nation, and Sync out on Requiem.
Even if Gorush is somehow magically picked (who, IIRC, hasn't played a 1v1 for SKT1 since ages, maybe his last 1v1 Proleague game was when he lost to Nal_rA), Reach still has decent chances considering:
1. He destroyed Gorush on this same map the last time they played (wasn't even a close game, I mean, Reach just destroyed Gorush 1 sidedly in a game that Gorush never had any advantage)
2. Neo Requiem is a good PvZ map. PvZ stats on this map is 44-44, with most of P's losses coming from early introduction of the map when it was known as just the original Requiem (which WAS a bad PvZ map). Recent PvZ's mostly seem to have been in P's favor.
Also, for all we know, Sync could have told the team coach that he would be confident in facing either Kingdom or GoRush on Requiem... This is hardly believable, but I would even dare to believe it if Sync lose to Kingdom after putting up a hard fought back-and-forth struggle in a game that could have gone either way at one point. If you watch the game, there is just absolutely no way Sync had any chance the whole game. Kingdom raped him handily. Sync never even got his army out of his base for more than 10 seconds. How could someone be that confident on this map perform this horribly in the game? It's mostly just not practical.

There's no point in arguing the "what-if"s.
The coach must've had his reasons for preparing that line-up. Of course, we'd all be singing a different song if KTF actually won it.

Russia lose Finliandia in hockey, and KTF lose SKT-1 ... Very bad Day... Why Manager choose Sync? bad... KTF need new good players. Yellow Reach Sync - old cshool gosu players. all new proplayers know about all old gosy's strategy(style, BO, etc), and its may thinking differently. Why Reach dont play 1x1? mb SKT1 manager give some money (in russian "vziatka") to KTF manager(mb KTF need now some money), and then he give permission to participation SYNC on 1x1...
|
OMG, i lost 8 points, couldn't vote against KTF... very sadly...
|
LOL
Perhaps the SKT1 manager bribed the KTF manager to use Sync in the series
hahahahaha
The only explanation that makes best sense so far, although perhaps also the most unbelievable.
But really, the only bad, washed up old school players on the KTF team are Sync and TheMarine (one of which has not participated since the addition of GF). KTF's best players can go neck-and-neck with SKT1's best players or any other players of any other team.
KTF doesn't need new players. They just need a new coach.
|
No, tfeign... You're wrong..
KTF lost because they weren't the better team.
In your face, tfeign...
|
Of course SKT1 is stronger as a team, but I really question KTF player choices on certain maps. Also, they don't have those up and coming players trying to qualify into the leagues, they usually are great choices for 2on2 teams, since they have more spare time to prepare for them and specialize.
