Ugh that was obviously some very ugly 1 m style SC2 play. Such lazy, lazy play. He just unsieges and clicks the entire army back through middle. Ofc he gets flanked and outpositioned. No workers or units out in front on flanks to scout, nothing, just a giant deathball moving around blindly. Makes me so sad to go from SC1's precise, well-scouted play to this SC2 unwieldy monstrosities slapping against each other.

Nice flank by Zerg, but then again, Zerg has god vision due to creep. So many fundamentals just suddenly disappear when SC2 comes on :\. I'm not bashing the game. I'm bashing the players here. It's not like SC2 engine can't handle a worker moving around to the sides of army or a scan or a hellion. It's just BAD play!

It's really bad play. I don't know why BW players suddenly forget things like scouting, multiple hotkeys and basic army movement just because they are playing SC2. The issue is completely with the players and not the game, and these are concepts that should translate automatically and perfectly between games.

Not a lot of players can make mech work so far, though. Mvp is one of the few players who still use it vZ to good effect, especially on Antiga.

Bisuuuuuuuuuu I hope he finally wins T_T

It's because players (even GSL players) don't have great scouting and army control yet. With good scouting and army control you don't have to fear splitting your army up, because you will know where and when to strike and where and when to group up your army to defend. Deathballs are the result of players being too cautious in creating opportunities and too lazy to constantly scout and move small army groups around.

In Jaedong's game earlier it was a good example of splitting an opponent's deathball with good scouting, and being able to defend just in time when his ball finally makes a desperate attempt to end the game.

HerO and Stephano are two of the best players in engaging and splitting armies up. People should learn from them more often.

Despite hero's fame, I don't think he engages well at multiple fronts, unlike jjakji, even though his macro goes to shit while doing it.

Watch Hero vs Ret. Hero masterfully harasses at multiple fronts with prisms and segments of his army.
