I guess ToT put an insane beating on Hyo. gm will do much, much better than Hyo which I think should give some of our Korean fanboys some new hope. Though I think all the people saying ToT would not stand a chance in hell vs Hyo need some kind of a reality check.
we'll see when the replays come out..I find it hard to believe hyo not getting a single game with their "toughest lineup", especially vs Rob lol. Why did the other thread get closed?

There's some strong players, but probably not their very strongest line-up. They seem to have underestimated ToT.
(not all game were played with their main races btw)
but for example Delete played Terran and lost 0-2 vs Twisted. Control played one Terran and one Protoss game. Control and Delete should be among their most respected members. Proves how good ToT is, and how good foreigners can be. It's nice to see this result it should bring some balance in the minds of some naysayers thinking top 200 Koreans wouldn't lose a single game vs foreigners.
Hey wicked I met you at wcg, I am about 5'5, brown long hair, I talked to you for a while in the seats and on the main floor, I had a press pass , names gary member me?
Ne way
GO MONDI I might do something crazy if you win/lose! .. so watch out!

Rob vs Marine 2-0
5-0 (10-0)
yeah I knew the result already, I was just saying..if they can't pick up a win vs rob, I highly doubt they're sending out anyone that's top calibur lol.. unless rob has gotten better. Last time I saw a rep of him, it wasn't so good

Or maybe they matched their better members with other players? maybe? maybe?
how can you say because one guy wins they didn't send out ANY top calibur players? that's retarded
Well, i dont know many of the HyO members. But if this is the best theyv got to offer, its kinda dissapointing. Hope [gm] will pull out some of theire best players, because they have some really talented once.
I think his point , although I disagree is that if EVEN ROB is going flawless then this isn't a good match.
I haven't seen the matches, but I've played team sports my whole life, and when 1 team member starts off rolling it sets a great positive motion for the team, it is possible that the quick wins of testie and rob put the others at easy with all this "We will lose crap" that moni was spouting
Well delete is a good player, so are also some of the others... I really have to see the reps to judge what went wrong for Hyo. I actually expected them to utterly demolish ToT.
okay, apparently hyo isn't a good korean team.. so I guess I was uninformted. I thought hyo was supposed to be decent, and they'd actually put up a fight

we all know that there will be at least 1-3 good games out of these. [gm] might use this as a reckoning , maybe they were going to put up bench players and will take it more series now.
As I stated in the news, [gm] already said they will bring their progamers only. And try to bring their best lineup. It will be 10x harder than this clan war.

Yes but you have got to realize this came as quite a shock to some people. gm is top of the line EVEN IN KOREA. it'll be no shame ot lose to them.
Well testie, you have to realize, your ego is larger then anyones and you predicted this to be a 4/3 tot win .....So that leaves the rest of us on earth to think "Shit there fucked" .... Moni told the world that you guys were going to lose so .... so progamers or not that buildup made us expect our non-korean heros to get tossed.

Yeah, i'm aware of that. I do not expect us to win against them. I do not expect us to lose. But I do expect there to be no "pushover" matches. Except Strafe, because he's 8 feet tall and has no keyboard to fit his monsterous hands so he just mashes keys and makes mistakes.

it's like this, korea > rest, is stupid to discuss about that, so obviously top korea team > top foreing team, so hyo is not a top korean team which all thought they were, or they played with theyre B or C line up T_T, but anyways its nice that tot owned some known korean team :D
mwuahahaha so funny . tot destroyd the kor > all thinking of so many ppl out there. thats real bm.
im really lookin forward to tot vs gm. even if they lose 3-4 its a great thing imo. tot is by far the strongest nonpro team and vs gm they gotta show us their skills vs pros.
Ah... Really nice of ToT, and it annoys me when all people claim "they didnt have their best lineup".. so ChapFou, which players should they have instead? (not saying that they did have their absolute best lineup, but 7-0 is rape and to change one or two people wouldnt have made much difference, not even sure they would have win either)...

that was just a simple remark i didn't said "omg you're so stupid, if hyo had its best lineup they would've wasted tot 7-0" and i think this win is great coz it will put pressure on gm so that they will play at their very best. This win is 100% deserved
also [hyo] is a top korean clan . to say now they suck is ridicolous. i mean their channel on west is the most popular and at yg clan there are often reps postet with hyo members.

Hmm, [hyo] is not really a top korean clan. And op hyo- isn't their channel real channel. It is just a breeding ground for foreigners, foreigners pretending to be koreans, and low level koreans. With the odd appearance of a good korean who steps in and out for a few minutes.
At this current point in time, I would say [hyo] is one of the lower level clans of west.
On January 30 2005 07:29 ChApFoU wrote: that was just a simple remark i didn't said "omg you're so stupid, if hyo had its best lineup they would've wasted tot 7-0" and i think this win is great coz it will put pressure on gm so that they will play at their very best. This win is 100% deserved
As Testie said, Hyo isn't a top korean clan and in this match they didn't bring their absolute best, but this was pretty damn close (the pros [I think there's 2] who smurf under hyo tags would NEVER play for them, at least so I'm told). Hopefully this win will make [gm] bring some of their best for their match vs ToT.
And, no, I'm not making excuses for HyO or trying to detract from ToT; this is a solid, impressive win though, honestly, it doesn't surprise me much (the margin does slightly). I still expect ToT to make the [gm] match close, regardless of who [gm] brings to bare.
Did not expect this. =P I woud not have been surprised by it being close but well, that was an old fashioned take 'em out back and bend em over.
However this raping should help to shut up the arrogant attitude of not allowing foreigners in any solid korean clan.
Anyways, [gm] is a completely different animal. If ToT were to manage to pull this win out (HarHar <-- my prediction) they would be doing all foreigners a favor. And don't think most progamers wont hear about the results even if ToT comes very close to taking it from [gm]. So, this matchup vs [gm] may be even bigger for the "foreign" community than people think.
watched a few replays and i really though these hyo guys were better, Strafe opponent sucked badly but strafe showed really nice macro 1rst game. Thimothy "choJJa style" 1rst game was nice ^^, Testie's opponent wasn't really great either.
everyone seems to be really disappointed with [hyo], but really we've been hyping the koreans so much and some people treat them as some sort of mythical BW gods... the foreigners who were playing are the BEST out there...
still, 7-0, that's crazy. it's such a lopsided win it's hard to say even if hyo didn't have their best lineup whether they could've won... just... wow
This is the best players in the rest of the world vs some good players in one nation.
I know broodwar is popular in korea, but these are not progamers, meaning that its conceivable that they dont play any more than the ToT members. Theres no reason ToT shouldnt be able to win vs normal players.

PS, Well played!
it's just surprising as on PGT the hyo-players executed some serious ownage (like delete vs mondragon record) and now they are NILLED in matches.

That's seems pretty lame to me. Delete got swept by Twisted TvZ, his best matchup. I'm beginning to think that hyo has been overrated purely on the basis of deleted's good rec vs mondi. Perhaps they aren't that good.
Why play a clan war to get disgraced like that? Wouldn't it be MORE of an insult to get pwned by foriengers than Koreans?
Bah, I think this "they weren't trying" crap couldn't be farther from the truth. They just got outplayed, over and over and over and over and over...

Stay[Hyo] isn't in Hyo any more. I think Hery[Hyo] (another gamer) is also out of Hyo too. Over the last few weeks the big names of Hyo are transfering to other teams
And I posted the results in Pgr21.com. Most Koreans are a bit surprised at how ToT raped Hyo but they say ToT>Hyo because Hyo now doesn't have great players and isn't a top Korean clan. They still are surprised at the total domination by ToT. And someone else released the replays and people are saying that some players are good from ToT but some won because Hyo players sucked.

I probably enjoyed the Midian series the best... im not so sure about what everyone is saying about not bringing the best lineup but there were some good games and some not so good ones.
As for everyone who says that this 7-0 sweep automatically forces gm to bring their top talent, I think I disagree. Whatever strides (real or imagined) that may or may not have been made for non-korean gamers could easily be made nill should gm play with a "sub-par" lineup and happen to beat ToT. Of course if they do as they originally said, hopefully we'll see some gosu games.

I really doubt that the [gm] and [HyO] leaders have much control over their better players. I really don't see onlytoday[gm] telling Midas what to do -_-
So, they take the couple of [gm]/[HyO] players that have nothing better to do.

the comments i think tend to be on the positive side, with people being impressed with the results and ToT's play on an objective level after watching the replays.
all i can say is this is good buildup for the match with [gm]

I have a hunch [gm] will analyze the reps of the matches against HyO and therefore base their strats on countering ToT's tendencies since I'm sure they'll be determined to win after such a disappointing result in the ToT v HyO matchup.
Therefore besides practising a lot, but with such limited time, I am suggesting ToT members to check out their own replays(in the vs HyO matchup) for obvious weakness on themselves and work on countering the counter to their weakness shown in the replays(or practice the counter counter strats) . This is the best chance to get an equal or better edge to fight [gm] if they are as strong as I believe. Damn, I think this sounds like me giving orders, sorry if it sounded that way, I'm just supporting ToT and just sharing my insight. Good luck, guys!
nice nice uhjoo ! @ hot_bid only one missing was sen instead of rob imo, or hexer instead of Strafe but strafe really played very impressive...total rape - so just Sen/RRB would have been best imo...

Hexer isn't close to being as good as Strafe I think
A little about semi-pro's in korea. Many of them are extremely talented and [hyo] is not even a semi-pro team. It isn't even a team of top amateurs. It just had a few talented players who eventually branched off and left.
They aren't close to a semi-pro team. Semi-pro's are often people who are basically pro-gamers but because the competition in korea tends to be so very fierce, they haven't even made it to pro-gamer status yet.
Ie: SN_Hoony and stork[gm] (I think he is still a semi pro... and bejjezerg who just recently got his progamer status and was a semi-pro..) These are great players who I would bet on easily to beat most of tot)'s members in a best of 5.
One last time. [hyo] isn't top amateur status. They aren't semi-pro status. They definitely are not pro status. Unless they have some in their team I was unaware of. (Which is quite possible).
I don't mean to take away from our win today, but it's not like we just beat a clan that rivaled [gm]'s high standards.

Stork got his pro license about 2 months ago. I think hoony did too?
Was hyo aware that the replays would be released and that the result would be completely public? It seems to me that they had very little to gain for playing non koreans. Anyway, I'm sure that this result will bring a solid lineup from GM
solid efort by tot hope this'll get gm-s attention. btw wouldn't it be cool seeing tot against other strong korean guilds like name or sasin maybe theMST or alive?
people were thinking Hyo was gonna show up with Hery, Stay, Vulture, Delete, Control, but Hyo is at a decline at this point I think its safe to say (while still being considerate of their feelings)
this doesnt suprise me at all hyo is at best an average korean team, to call them one of wests top teams simply because thier old channel is constantly full is an extremely retarded comment, thats like saying "30dom was best on west". hyo = hype tot = focused gm is actually a strong team, so if they bring thier A game they really shouldnt have the slightest problem taking tot to school, IMO i'de like to see ToT vs Sasin, its just my opinion but sasin in my eyes is the best korean team on west, you can argue that other teams have more "progamers" but when it comes down to it most of these progamers dont really do anything for the team except maybe floss thier clan tags around on the proscene to make thier honestly crappy "bnet" team look 10x better then it truely is, when it comes to clanwars or anything, sasin on the otherhand has a strong focused group at all times, thier fun people too.
KT.MGW) beat Sasin? no way. KT.MGW) beat [gm]? you're dreaming.
And I agree that Sasin would bring the best team to a clan war of any team on west. Unless of course [gm] brings their absolute best players, in which case my statement has no weight whatsoever.

hey, everything you said sounds well though out, but i think twisted or someone else mentioned that [gm] said they were you using progames in the match
SaSin is a group of VERY talented players. However there is a difference between having 17 talented player and having 17 progamers like [gm] supposedly does. The two teams would no doubt be very close in a clanwar ( gm vs SaSin) but [gm] would pull out the win the majority of the time. [gm] is definitely the best.
I'm sorry igcognito but you are wrong in the case of [gm]. I see many of their progamers online every day on west playing with their members. This will of course be more beneficial to their team than say having 5 progamers but they only play vs each other and none of the clan members. This provides a chance for all the clan members to get better which is unique among all the clans i believe.
I would have liked to see ToT vs SaSin instead after seeing this rape they put on HyO. Would have been more competitve.
It seems like nobody even watched the reps. In just about every single game HyO was playing around, and even won some of those games. If HyO was givin another oppurtunity and actually tried this time, the score would be a lot closer, granted ToT would still have a good chance of winning.

yeah they must have been playing around... even mediocre korean clans can't lose ever! its unpossible!
stop making exscuses for HyO.. is it that hard to believe? Is it so unlikely that the best non korean clan destroyed a weak korean clan? Granted "weak" in korean is still significantly good to our standards, but ToT is like 8 players short of being the complete non korean all star team. They are going to play GM, a team that has put players into the pro leagues and is striving to add more to their ranks. If ToT also played teams like S.G [3.33] Qoo) SaSiN) after GM than you would get a legitimate reason to "ooh and awe" if they 7-0'd these amazing west teams. I was surprised that ToT 7-0'd them, but afterwards i kinda thought to myself "this makes sense" looking at the lineups the score didnt come as a huge shock to me. I am genuinely excited to see ToT vs [GM], no exscuses here there is alot of talk that [GM] is going to give it its all. midas' tvp is his best. at wcg offline for money when the koreans were trying no foreigner would touch them, including fisheye. online strafe has a small chance vs midas i think.
