The slightly faster CC for Ruby doesn't make up for the early SCV cutting involved when proxy 8 raxing, does it? SCVs in TvT aren't like drones in ZvZ. It's not a big deal either way; it's basically even. If proxy 8 rax --> fast CC (if scouted) doesn't get behind standard play economically people would do it all the time.

Poor RuBy, you can't do much with a fac cc fac push against 3 gates.

I don't usually judge by the result, but he won the game, after all. Even if he didn't, did he look behind? He went vult/tank when Barracks went tank/gol. He got map control and an earlier third. He kept map control and killed his opponent.
Barracks didn't do a standard build like vult expo, as far as I can tell he adapted and realized he could do a gasless CC.
Honestly. TvTs can easily last an hour. Try to think outside of the first two minutes. Things like this don't snowball like you want. They fizzle out.

Siege could also have done some good damage.
