You could leave with an early scout, say 9 drone and see if anything fishy is up in his main (late depot?, no pylon, low worker count). You can also 12 pool which might not win but will let you expo safer. It's pretty easy to stop zergling rushes on destination anyway, since you can do tight wall-ins. Or like i said scout and prepare a drone defence to buy time for you lings...

The second thing is, scout more effectively. The latest time that pros scout with a drone is shortly after the overlord is done, and sometimes I even see pros 9 drone scout. 9 drone scouting will let you know that there's nothing in his base around the time you started your hatchery, at which point switching to a 12pool doesn't put you too far behind. Also, sending your overlord straight down is pretty useless and I think risks it getting sniped by a marine--use a more effective overlord scouting plan like Jaedong uses in this game: . Note that Jaedong's overlord would have spotted the proxy around the time his second overlord is done, just the right time to place an 11pool or 12pool.

9 drone scout. Send Overlord to the cliffed second natural and then to his main. Send second Overlord to your natural to see if he's putting up a bunker/getting rines. If you scout that he doesn't have a rax in his main (either because your 9 drone doesn't see one or because your overlord does), hotkey 8 drones and send them out by using a mineral patch that your Overlord sees when his SCV moves in, even before he starts the bunker. Try to kill the bunker with your drones, but if marines come then you have to keep them away from the bunker. Once your 8 lings pop you're safe.

If you know how to prepare for a cheese, then you'll gain an easy win (except in TvP where toss can still be in game after sending the first probe -_-). 9 drone scout is totally worth it in 2 player maps, on both Destination and Heartbreak Ridge because there are so many cheeses. Don't forget to watch for proxy rax followed by depot block. And optimize (I never heard of tighten; ![]()

Then scout at 9, and head for his mineral line, if it has few scvs, then he did proxy, if he has a good number of scvs, his barracks are probably hidden somewhere inside his main, most likely the spot closest to your main, to float it. If you failed to respond early enough, get a single well placed creep at your main, an extractor, cancel your expansion at the very last second and try to get your first lings out towards his base, otherwise, just mass speedlings and try to break out.

Its easier to execute than stop at lower levels. Once you stop a BBS, unless you lost more than 6 drones you should be way ahead. get someone to do this to you 50x in a row. At the end of you 50x you will be able to stop it. just pull workers and try to stop the bunker*. If he manages to get or almost get up a bunker, just kill incoming marines while you build lings. Once your lings are out just attack with all lings and the drones you were using before. then run the lings back to his base**. * If you see a BBS dont be afraid to pull 80% of your drones.) ** I would recommend 2 hatch muta unless he takes a really fast expo.(If he goes fast expo i would just 3 hatch ling his ass while i got mutas out.) Edit: Lol I meant 4 out of 5.... like 8 out of 10 or 12 out of 15. Ill try and reword it ![]()
