Google'd TL.net, nothing came up, so decided to post here, because it came to my attention that some people felt that getting used to playing in a faster speed could help with improvement on the game. (Feel free to move if this isn't the right section)
Step 1. Download Cheat Engine + Show Spoiler +WILL NOT WORK ON BATTLE.NET UNLESS YOUR OPPONENT USES THE SAME xSPEED AS YOU.
Step 2.start starcraft
Step 3.attach the engine to starcraft.exe on the cheatengine, tick "Enable Speedhack" and then put in whatever speed you want and then click "Set speed" (ignore the sleeptime)
Refer to pics for more help.
I have tried this method on LAN and Battle.net, but only tested this with my brother. We both used the method mentioned above, and both used the same speed. *Worked*

:O HGmmm, perhaps it could work to get reaction times working better for you? ;P Thx for the link dood ^^
|
This looks really cool! Does anybody have any stories about if t really helps mechanics, multitasking, and stuff like that?
|
lol gogogo play at absolute max . This should be FUN!
OMG I CALL TL CATS AND MICE AT MAX SPEEEEEEED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... There's more much reliable and more trustful sources and it's just an .scx file, not some program. -_-

Maps can't change the spawn rate of larvaes. -_-

Interesting but.. does this really enhance ur reaction time?

Everyone probably has a different preference of how they practice, I am just providing another method of practice.
|
wow really cool
I played a computer 2x and its quite fun, you have to be soo fast
would probably make good "resistance-training" too

hmm I tried playing at 4x speed, but after a while it slowed down to ~~normal speed again, don't know why
|

Hmm... I play mostly on 3x it might be because of how long you've been playing.
Just reset the speed to 1.0 on cheatengine, set speed, and then set a faster speed again.
|
lol that was so awesome. Occasionally I felt like it would recognize a hot key... but maybe that was just me. And try microing against a 4 pool Zerg comp rush guys... lol. I was on 4X speed

Cheat Engine is completely legit, though it depends on where you download it. If you aren't sure, upload it to virustotal.com
|
Could the "turning off" have anything to do with "sleeptime"? You said to ignore it but maybe this is relevant.
|
holy fuck this is wicked, i am going to be practicing like this for a while, thanks alot ^.^

There are noticeable improvements(for me) I can say that. I'm hesitant to say this, because i haven't played using this method a lot (barely have time for SC anymore), but it has helped me improve my APM, micro, multitasking in general.
|
That program has side effects Iput it 3 times faster and now my entire thought process is 3 times faster... I'm doing everything faster and alot more clicky than normal xD
|
I scroll so freaking far now. It's so hard to tell your SCV, "Build Depot here, go back to mine here."
By the way, does it have to increase by whole number increments?
I tried 1.5, and didn't really get anything.
|
+ Show Spoiler +This program is freeware, you can copy it as much as you like.
If this program accidentaly screws up and destroys data on your PC, electrocutes you, makes your monitor explode in your face, set's your house on fire, kills you, causes everyone on the planet(and beyond) to try to kill you, hacks into a nearby nuclear misile and targets your house, changes your bank balance to $0, gets you banned from online games, adds your name to a hitman's list, sucks you into the computer and plays pong with you(with you as ball), causes secret agencies to come after you, makes you believe you got maggots crawling under your skin, turns your room into a gate to hell, becomes sentient and starts killing everyone on this planet, gets you sent to jail with a guy named big bubba or does anything else you don't want it to do, don't blame the author of this program!!
I lolled haha

Way cool, although it makes controlling your units really hard. Thanks for posting.

i'm using win2000 server and it seems to crush my sc the moment i click on enable speed hack, any other win2000 user experiencing same problem?

I doesn't have to increase by whole numbers.
The reason 1.5 doesn't really give anything is cause its 1.5.

are you running win 2000 OS or private server?

nice thread and program
I might try it out later
|
Oh I think I'll try that. As my APM/multitasking generally sucks, I think I could be able to improve it with this

i fixed it by using cheat engine 5.3 instead of 5.4...so those of you using win2000 make sure u use 5.3.

Lol I knew it was a compatibility issue.

Nice find.
Of course, if you play online with even a little bit of latency, I bet life sucks.
|
If I have 110 APM using this program then that means it's 220 regular APM?
|

That would be true, if you were playing at 2x speed.

Actually not that bad when both players are using this method and using the same x speed. Latency is in a way sped up

Use korean way, arrow keys.
EDIT: Triple post, sorry.
My next post will be tomorrow. I PROMISE. NO MORE CHAIN POSTING FOR ME IN THIS THREAD

Quick first person to host a replay + screen shot of winning 4xspeed 1v3 comps is the thread gosu.
I tried 4 times with all races and never made it past the hydra/ling-zealot/marine attack from all threw. Well zerg I got mutas but hold position is hard at 4x.
Can any of you do it.
OMGLROK , you rock dude, I don't think anything higher then 2x is even close to good training but this is definately fun. Thanks!

Lol, awesome.
Installing now.
|
Use SpeedGear, does the same, much easier to use.
|
|
I think it can only speed up based on how fast your computer is, so when the games are longer it goes slower because your computer can't handle it. Cuz I don't see any difference between 40 and 400 etc.
I tried against computers and made it until they made a single siege tank and leveled 100 cannons in 14 seconds while I tried to tell my probes to mine minerals
|
Practicing on this for a couple of weeks against decent opponents would probably give a huge boost in multitasking :p
|
Lool, does this really work?! I will try it out, but won't u get banned for using this?
|
team melee with this would be just pure awesomeness, im probably gonna try it out with a friend and see how that goes
|
This is evil you can sign onto iccup play a game for 5 mins then turn on the speed hack onto 0.1 speed which is like nothing and wait for the guy to leave for you to win.
|
You will desync if you do that.
|
hmm is there something like this that speeds up your mouse?
|
A faster mouse also changing the sensitivity witch something chaoslaucher does
|
LOL This should be hilarious in hamachi, UBER MICRO

You'll just frameskip like Jaedong's 450APM arms on that Lecaf camera. ^^

You don't even think before you post
Even practicing at 1.5 speed, even 1.2 speed, would result in sped up reactions for sure.

Hello all, is this faster then faster cheat still runable on remastered?
Would love to test.

Holy fucking 11 year bump Batman
I mean also I’m sure it’s fun as a novelty, absolutely terrible to actually practice this way. Lots of micro is rhythmic and tied to animations, practicing them outside the default game speed seems counter-productive.
If anyone wants to play in slower speeds to test this in the reverse go ahead, even though it’s slower and you should be able to do more, that’s offset by the weirdness of everything working on a timing you’re not accustomed to.
|
Thanks for your opinion... seems like you are theoretical beast.
Sadly seems, the way how find trough experience is gone. If anyone find the way, PM me, thanks.

I didn’t mean to come across as dismissive. Like I said it would be fun for the novelty if nothing else.
Come to think of it it probably would be beneficial perhaps for things that you want to do absolutely as fast as possible, doing a macro cycle or whatever and keeping on top of that.
Would also probably be of some benefit for moving big groups of units if you could manage that at an even faster game speed.
Anything micro wise though my earlier opinion stands because it’s locked in with animation cycles and those specific rhythms.
Hope someone can help you out

Is this just playing the game at gamename#x2?

I tried 1.5, and didn't really get anything. this might be a good thing, now you can learn to play with faster sensitivity
I heard some meme by Artosis that Flash once said his #1 practice partner was the computer. He'd just practice his build against it over and over until it was perfect. Same concept here, except well, faster.
|
I really cant stand the whole #x2 speeds that people play sometime on fastest, to me it is just absolutely ridiculous lol
|
There's a reason people in rhythm games don't practice x1.5 or x2 speed before they've mastered the original speed.
There's value in practicing simple things at higher speeds, but practicing complex things seems a recipe for sloppy play.
