if i see cannons inside the other guys base with no sign of cybercore i would assumme that hes newb or doing some kinda cheese somewhere else on the map.. so send 1-2 probes to scout then fast expo with good cannons placements and mass goon i've been attacked by mass zealots just like that before and defended easily with mass goon if you place them right on the map hunters and its even easier to defend against on a map like lost temple since you hve the upper land.

-This is good if you catch your opponent off guard which i suppose you did. But, skipping obs yourself your not really sure of what hes doing... -This is good if your mass>his mass(which it was). This is good if your opponent uses his units poorly/ micros bad(which happened). Though, just goon and some zeal is hard to micro well against speed zeals. This is not a mainstream pvp build for a reason(s)...

The problem is that the purple toss made 2 major mistakes, IMHO : * had no knowledge of what was coming -> needed obs * did not mass units (obviously because he expoed first). (side note : now I understand why expoing first is bad in PvP :D ) So expoing first without proper scouting is suicidal. However, if the purple had went goon/obs, I think he would have massed more goons without expoing, making it much harder for the mass zeals strat to win, especially on LT. This is an extremely aggressive strat which will have a high success rate vs people who don't scout but I wonder what would be the chances of success vs mass goons or vs reavers. Nony, what do you think about it ?

Every good pvp player knows he need a suport unit and a tech unit at some time in the game. If madcow was smart he would have reacted with reaver/goon/zeal out of 1 base. Then confront that weak zeal army that is very vurnerable against any tech (archon/dt/reaver). So madcow played stupid so what? Doesn't make this a good strat on lost temple. On guillotine/Ceres/... this strat doesn't sound bad but i would not make cannons like that but go for rush and build up to 3 gate. Madcow knows very well that expanding could lead to an instant dead but he tried anyway, he took his chances and failed.
