Hi.
TvP, you\'re Terran and your opponent goes Reaver... build one turret off to the side of your CC, then build another closer to the \"center-area\" surrounding your CC like you normally would...
Hotkey the second turret you made to 7, then lift and place Engineering Bay over it. When shuttle comes, he\'ll usually come at the angle facing your 2 turrets... when he does this, he\'ll also usually poke his shuttle into the firing radius of the turret under the engine bay for a split second just to make sure it\'s there.
Before he goes to do this, hit 7 (your hotkeyed turret) and hit S S SSSS S S S S S S S SS SS SSS S S S S S to keep it from firing. He\'ll think there\'s no turret beneath... he\'ll try to shortcut through that airspace to a vulnerable point in your base layout to lay his reaver, and the instant he begins to do this, hit A and target the shuttle
If you time it right and he\'s surprised enough, you can take down his shuttle, sometimes before he even drops the reaver
Somebody please test this for me and post reports here?

"If you time it right and he's surprised enough, you can take down his shuttle, sometimes before he even drops the reaver"
But if he does manage to get that reaver gone, you can kiss your scvs good bye.

hm what I've done with success a couple of times is build two turrets right below the engbay
depends on my opponent fucking up, yes, but they do occasionally.
|
It sounds like doing this wouldn't really slow you down any. But it does depend on luck a bit, so if your opponent screws up a little, its definitely worth it.
|
poor idea imo, you'd only help him by letting him come closer to the turret before he starts taking damage from it
he'll be able to get his reaver on top of your defending tank and kill enough scv to make losing the shuttle and reaver worth it
and that's if everything goes according to your plan, which I think is unrealistic (too many "probably", "if", "can" and "sometimes"'s)

I like Drone's idea of two turrets under the ebay! =D
|
can you hide two turrets perfectly? Never tried it, I suppposed, one would show a bit...
|
meh just get mines who needs those stinkin turrets!
|
The best is to not place a turret below the e-bay, when he tries if there is a turret he will think you are doing advanced tricks on him and he will retreat... at least I would, who knows you might have two hotkeyed s-pumped turrets below it
|
Man I wouldnt want that shuttle getting closer. If anything unload out of turret range somewhere.
|
its the same as doing that for lurker :D
|
Floating buildings are always a sign of Terran trickery though.

Thing is your opponent will most likely poke from the turret side and you won't have the time to react. It seems this could work and when you're quite certain your opponent is doing reaver it's worth a try.
|
when i see a shuttle i'd rather spend those few seconds preparing for the reavers by: bringing in reinforcements to defend moving or preparing to move scvs creating another turret(s) to ward off shuttle threat
the idea of a surprise turret is great though

But how do you keep TWO turrets from firing?

.. thats how

lol cute strat risky but VERY EFFECTIVE when pulled off pretty luck based by at least 50%
|
|
Or they just send in a obs before hand to knock you off your timing... :/
|
the invisible turret is something so common nowadays, i think every toss player (well, decent player) will look out for. and from ur description, wouldn't BOTH turrets be in firing range when the shuttle comes? so presumably theres no real reason to stop the "center area" turret?? anyways, i wouldn't even want a shuttle any closer then i'll let it... usually 2 turrets is more then enuf to scare off a shuttle.
but has anyone tested this successfully? more then ONE game.
