I don't know how many times i have died from not knowing what the zerg is teching. 1-2 Cannons doesn't stop your main from getting raped by mutas. And getting contained by lurks is not my idea of fun, when you're teching templars or allready made a archon.
How can you determent what the Zerg is doing if you cant scout him. If I don't tech fast corsair the only thing i will see is some lings and maybe 2 sunkz before the probe dies.
Sometime when i do fast sair after done dual gate stratt i die off not having enough gas to make templars if he goes hydra rush. Sometime im so scared of mutalisk that i transform my 2 temp, to archon and dies from hydras again. I've also learned that having observer when zerg comes with mutas is not a advantage.
Im asking all protoss players, what do you do to check what the zerg is doing, if you dont make fast sair. Do you have any tips? like counting how many sunkz or lings he has. And what do you do if it turns out he didn't do what you wanted.

Most of the times it's experience. When he makes 2nd gas and how he plays. The amount of lings and/or sunkens he makes. Just keep observing what happens every time and if it occurs more. Then maybe you can read a pattern. If you have no clue what he's doing just make 3 cannons in ur main 2 on your choke and go for expand nexus with templars. If he has lurkers you still have time to go for the ranged goons. Most important is secure your expand though.

Overall do you really earn anything in transforming your 2 first temps to Archon? If you dont know what the zerg is aiming for what is the safest choice? ,directly when you're first 2 temps showes you merge them.(antimutas) Or save them for anti hydra rush, or small lurk contain.
Hmmm... probobly it depends on how good mutalisk micro the zerg has, if he's good he could possibly just dodge the storms.

vs newbies i just go sair dt so i don't have to make the tough decision
vs good players i just lose if they don't fuck up a little bit

sair/dt works, otherwise id go storm expo and pray you can stop him. Get a dt and try to delay the 10000 expos he is about to take so when you have about a dozen goons and zlot/temp you can break out and kill him.

at least you'll be doing something assertive
playing down the middle gets you killed pvz
