Hwaseung Coach (Jo Jung Woong): "The series is not over yet"."We will forget today's games and prepare diligently for tommorrow". These questions were all for the Hwaseung Head coach. -What are the main reasons for your unexpected 0:4 loss? ▲I feel that the players were unable to display their expertise properly. Therefore, we will forget today's losses because we cannot afford to be discouraged by today's result. After reviewing today's games, we will prepare for tomorrow. The series is not over yet.
-What is the main cause of Jaedong's (reverse) loss in the first set? ▲I feel that he thought that he had an advantage, but then he became careless. His mistake was relaxing before the game is completely over. However, Fantasy's management was also very good.
-Considering today's total loss, will this be a problem for tomorrow's games? ▲I will order my players to forget today's games. But, I will go back with them and do a thorough analysis and make sure that there will be no problems in tomorrow's games. Although the results may not be favorable, we will make sure that the games that the players prepare have end up well.
-If you were to pick out the sets you will win tomorrow, what would they be? ▲My mindset is that we have to win every set tomorrow. In the second series, we have to win all the games, including the ace match, so we cannot concede any more games.
-Do you have any special words that you want to say? ▲Once again, we will forget today's games and we will prepare diligently so as to make ourselves known.

SKTelecom T1: "We will win day 2 as well to finish off the series". "As soon as we were able to beat Jaedong, we expected a 4:0 win." -What are your feelings after winning the games in Day 1? ▲SKT T1 Head Coach (Park Yong Woon) = I am thankful towards all the players who did their best, and we won't be intoxicated by today's victory. We will win the tournament with even more thrilling games tomorrow. ▲Fantasy = Since I won a game where I was at a disadvantage, I am very happy. However, tomorrow's games are more important, so I will concentrate on them instead. ▲Canata = Since Fantasy beat the other team's ace in the game before mine, I was able to play my set comfortably. Our team was able to win easily after Jaedong lost. ▲Hyuk = During our practice, my win percentage was high so I was not stressed. The ability to play confidently was most important factor in my win. Although I am going to play against Jaedong tomorrow, I think that if I don't feel pressured, my chances of victory will be increased and I will do my best. ▲Best = Although I won my game today, I will not be careless and I will secure another win tomorrow.
-Why did you offer the head shaving challenge? (to the hwaseung head coach) ▲SKT T1 Head Coach (Park Yong Woon) = Yesterday, I saw the Hwaseung players arrive at HaewoonDae from afar and as I saw their faces, they did not look like they were ready Haewoondae (for the finals). I felt that if there was an opportunity to throw them off balance, in that situation then we could gain an advantage. My idea was the head shaving challenge. I only made this proposal to generate a little excitement for e-sports, so I hope they don't feel too bad about it. If the Hwaseung Oz head coach accepted my proposal, I would have shaved my head.
-Did you expect to win with a score of 4:0? ▲SkT T1 Head Coach: I thought that if Fantasy wins against Jaedong, then a 4:0 sweep would be possible.
-As you came down to Busan, you suffered from an eye infection. (to hyuk) ▲Hyuk = Since I had an eye infection, I had a lot of trouble. On the first day we came down to Busan, my eye was so swollen and it was difficult to practice. My manager and coach took a lot of care of me and thanks to them, the swelling reduced quickly and after that, I was able to practice without any problems.
-If your head-shaving challenge is seen through the wrong lens, it can seem like a crude provocation. *▲SKT T1 jrsf coach = There was no talk in advance. It was a merely a strategy and if the Hwaseung head coach just accepted it, it could have been seen as a crude method, but since it went by well, I think that I used it effectively. Fundamentally, if you have a respectful midset, many people will understand what I tried to do. If you didn't see that I didn't mean to be bad mannered, it could be a problem, but I don't think it will be. My intention was to raise the interest in the second series, so I hope that you will be understanding.
-If you were to predict tomorrow's scores? ▲SkT T1 head coach = In the regular season or the post season, whenever anyone come to a sports stadium, everyone thinks that they will win 3:0 or 4:0. Whatever the differences in skill are, you always hope for a total victory. That's why I expect a 4:0 win tomorrow as well.
-Every player that won performed a ceremony today. ▲Fantasy = Because my nickname is Terrorist, I shot a gun. Since it was my first time, I couldn't do it well. I will show a proper ceremony tomorrow. ▲Canata = Lately, it seems that most people think that I have a cutesy image. Therefore, I picked a cute ceremony to perform today. Although I placed more weight/importance on today's game, I will show a good ceremony tomorrow. ▲Hyuk = What I did today wasn't what I originally prepared. However, what I wanted wasn't available, so it seems that the company took the trouble to prepare a ceremony for me. ▲Best = Since my nickname is Monster, I did the ceremony that I did. Tomorrow, I will show a much more fun and better ceremony. ▲SKT T1 Head Coach (Park Yong Woon) = The ceremonies that we have selected from a contest have not been announced yet. After returning to our living quarters, we will prepare diligently and definitely show you our ceremonies tomorrow.
-How will you prepare for tomorrow's games? ▲SKT T1 Head Coach (Park Yong Woon) = although I have said it on the stage already, we have seen Hwaseung lose 0:4 in the second day of their series with our own eyes, only to win in the ace match. Therefore, we cannot allow ourselves to be intoxicated by our victory and become complacent. We will definitely win tomorrow's matches as well and finish the tournament with a win.

<3 Love much ghostwriter! Awesome Translations..
on another note, SKT1's coach is losing hair so if Oz's Coach accepted the challenge it would have been a Win-Win Situation for Park Yong Woon.
CANATA- CUTE CEREMONY FTW! LOL

I will order my players to forget today's games. I will go back with them and thoroughly analyze today's games
MAKE UP YOUR MIND
lol
+ Show Spoiler +I know it's not necessarily logically inconsistent depending on the intended meaning of "forget", but I thought it was a humorous juxtaposition
goddammit I didn't have to explain that

"Fantasy = Because my nickname is Terrorist, I shot a gun."
Somehow I don't think this would fly in the rest of the world...

No, you're right, I thought it was kinda weird when I typed it. He didn't actually say "today's games" so I fixed it to make it more ambiguous, although he probably meant "Forget the results of today's games" but analyze their mistakes as well(so they won't be disheartened by their losses, especially Jaedong's).

If I remember correctly people call him Osama bin Laden from his dropship harasses. If you consider the western connotations of terrorism this could offend a lot of people. I think it's in really bad taste. Especially the ceremony with the gun (even if it is a super-soaker).

After returning to our living quarters, we will prepare diligently and definitely show you our ceremonies tomorrow.

Normally you'd say that about the games.

I wonder what kind of ceremony will Bisu do if he does win against perfectman

"Bisu wins....Flawless Victory"? flawless, perfect....yeah no

lol at SKt1 being humble about improving their ceremonies. lol at Hyuk not choosing the ceremony he did - he better not have! lol at Fantasy owning Jaedong after Jaedong tried to embarrass him.
I hope this doesn't mark the decline of Jaedong's career though. That would be sad.

If things go badly enough someone might photoshop a card with an infested CC on it that says "HAPPY JAEDONG WEEK". Bitter irony

I'm pretty sure the infested CC wasn't meant as BM, just the fastest/cheapest way to kill a floating CC without any kind of air attack units except scourge.
Sort of like the long Savior vs FBH on Python where Savior infests like 4 command centers because that's just the most efficient way to kill them when all you've got is ultras and lings.
IMO it would only be ironic if Jaedong had used it as a victory ceremony.

thx ghostwirter for the live report and this, really an awesome job, thank you thank you thank you sir

Ah Nice, interviews!!! GJ and thanks ghostwriter! No problems in the translations as I see. ^_^
But yea, I was so happy to see a 4:0 from SKT1 yet my heart tells me that this isn't as entertaining as it should been Where a 4:2 or 4:3 would be have been better...
Nonetheless, this is a great day for all SKT1 fans and myself and tomorrow hopefully we'll see more exciting matches!!!!! Especially *cough* PerfectMan *cough* using his perfect build against *cough* Bisu. :D
And Hyuk did state in the interviews before this final that he wanted to face JD so let's see what he has prepared....

Actually, I think you're right. Did someone mention that in the LR?
Of course, the "Jaedong Week" part would still be ironic :/

we see what SKT1 has REALLY been doing in the last few weeks. pssh, and you all thought it was starcraft.

Many people also felt that the SC2 Battle Reports were 'staged'. Just don't worry and enjoy the show, until we see an interview of a tearful backho explaining that he was forced to crossdress and dance, we can assume that the ceremonies are just boys celebrating their victories and maybe doing something silly due to peer pressure.
I'd be worried if the ceremonies didn't seem awkward, in fact. That'd mean they've been practicing them thoroughly- like circus actors.
|
Those ceremonies had me going WTF also...although personally I think it's better that they're tame and awkward as hell instead of FBH-style offensive; it gives both fans and the opposing team the opportunity to laugh (in confusion) instead of being insulted/pissed
Good to see explanations for the reasoning behind the ceremonies (lol canata) Also good to see that Hyuk didn't pick his ceremony
As usual thanks for the translation!

I didn't watch any of the games yet, so I don't know if this is a dumb question or not, but what was up with that head shaving thing? Would the coach of the losing team have to shave, or would the entire team have to shave, or what?

Before the game started, the coaches were doing some verbal sparring or whatever and the sktt1 coach offered a bet of sorts in which the coach of the losing team would shave his head. I don't think the hwaseung coach accepted though and the sktt1 coach was just explaining himself; it could be seen as in bad taste.

Thanks for the translation, too bad I cant watch the games live 3:00am here =( I have to work why do they play on friday instead of saturday? Oh well, at least I will be able to watch them tonight...

I think that this is likely to be true. The lovely ladies were coordinating the players, and it looked as if it was the first time doing what they did, for both Fantasy and Best (and let's not talk about Hyuk, eek). Canata seemed to have a little bit of his 'dance' memorized, though, so I'm guessing they all did some prep, but probably not much. Of course winning their games is a bit more important. After all, no celebration if they lose.
They should have pre-pumped Fantasy's water gun, though. Would have been far more badass. But maybe that particular knockoff water gun couldn't hold pressure so it would have that weak stream of water anyways.
