I was bored and needed to practice my mutalisk micro for the chinese triangle and just ZvT in general so I made a map. The map has quite a few features actually:
- You are provided with 22 mutalisks and 15 scourge that respawn on death. There is a reason for 22 ;D - I also added an optional scouting drone in the corner of the map if you want to practice multitasking while microing. There is a switch you put your civilian on to activate/deactivate it. - There are scourges in the bottom right corner of the map for practicing the chinese triangle, or just sniping units or w/e. - There is an overlord on the left side of the map solely for stacking purposes. The overlord automatically is moved back to its original spot so there is no need for switching ovies, etc. - The map layout used was just Python. - You change choose the difficulty: (which you can change at any time) Easy - there are only 14 marines, 4 medics, 6 turrets Medium - there are 24 marines, 6 medics, 8 turrets Hard - there are 32 marines, 8 medics, 9 turrets, 2 valkyries, 1 vessel w/ irradiate - The turrets and MnM's respawn over time so you don't have to keep restarting. (the supply depots, etc don't though) - The Terran has stim AND range for the marines, as well as unlimited medic energy. - There are also 6 observer slots. - You have a dozen hatcheries which you can hotkey to macro while microing. - The Terran starts out with 2-2 upgrades so you can adjust yours however you like to simulate 0-0 mutas vs 1-0 marines, etc. Any other questions/comments/recommendations/etc just ask. I didn't put too much time into this map, but there shouldn't be any major glitches/bugs.

Unfortunately filefront is unavailable, and I don't want to use gay ass rapidshare or megaupload or anything so what I did was just save a 10 second replay of the map. I did this because when viewing a replay on repdepot it gives you the option to download the map from there. Genius, eh?

I've been considering doing other ones as well. Not only zerg though, if you have a certain type in mind ask away. I've been wanting to do MnM, vulture, lurkerling, defiler play, corsair, etc.

And then do the 7 ghosts + wriaths vs battlecruisers, and medics + wriaths vs carriers+obs. 
Great map (and uploading method). Now all I need to do is find the thread with the triangle explanation so I can practice that.

So far it's working out quite well. @DoX.) & whatusername & CubEdIn: No problem, first come first serve though, so PvZ sunk spore lurker will probably be done first(sometime by the end of today[my time, i just woke up]) but I will get around to it in the next day or two.

Also, whats the difference between easy-hard mode?? I can add that shortly. The difference between easy, medium, and hard mode are in the OP. The different settings change the amount of scourge in the corner, the amount of MnM the terran has, and the amount of turrets he has as well.

I love the 22 muta addition i was practicing 1 hit turreting muta micro and pretending that im jaedong. Giving the rines stim+range also gives you a feeling like you're playing a player instead of a comp sometimes. I love how the overlord doesnt move . Really fun map really helps.
I prefer hold or right click most of the time. I use patrol against scourge but everything else mostly hold. The times i actually do right click is for like scvs, turrets, fbats etc. Hold once you get the hang of it 3 rines die per hold hehe.

Could you change the scourge so once locked on they follow yuo forever? They recoil back so fast that 11 mutas just melt them.
Could you give hard 1 sci with ira or 2 valks for 3 -4 more turrets. If you go with sci or valk could you please make an option to add 4-6 scourge to your central muta army.
Could you make the zealot bottom left not have infinite health. I think practicing drone vs zealot micro with an overlord is pretty fun and it took me a minute to realize I couldn't shoot at him!

Is there anyway you could make the Terran controlled by a second player? This map is pretty cool, but the mnm AI is really stupid and will just send like 2 marines at once at you without medics.

How on earth do you do the patrol variation? I can't do it to save my life and I think i'm just doing it plain wrong.

I added a part where you spawn scourges as well(up to 15) and I added a part where you spawn mutas and scourges for the enemy so you can choose the battle you want to play.

It takes some triggers and work but I fixed all of those. The scourge now follow you as long as you are in the "scourge attack area" which is shown by the water tileset and crystals beside them.
I added a science vessel with irradiate every minute or so and 2 valks on hard mode. They re-spawn as well as the MnM
The zealot now isn't invincible. It will respawn if it dies as well.

This took a while to figure out how I was going to do it but I think this should work. I don't see why not, and I semi-tested it, but I didn't actually get another person to test that function. The human player is optional, if there is no human you play against the computer.
As the for computer AI, I can't actually make them target fire and shit but I fixed it so when you harass a certain section of their base they will send their units(well approx half, because he has 2 armies, one in each base), including the valk and sci vessel w/ irr if you have it on hard mode.
I've tested it everything basically: - Chinese triangle is much easier because of fixed scourge problem - Computer isn't so stupid now, he irradiates, sends valks, and stims + sends units wherever you harass. - Fixed some problems I had while adding some recommendations

It's actually quite a bit of work to let you be able to choose whether or not they have +1 attack. If they have +1 attack you can't reverse it easily if you want to change it. I reommend making a duplicate copy of the map and in one version edit the computer(player 2, as well as player 4[the optional anti-microer]) to give them +1 attack. I will start making some more micro maps this weekend since I have a bit of extra time, this week I was unexpectedly rather busy, sorry about that.
EDIT: Actually I will probably just make that duplicate copy myself and host it as well within the end of the day.

Good map, just another suggestion would be vulture vs lings or lots. I don't think carriers would be a good idea cause of making the cpu actually act correctly, maybe it could work though.

i can muta stack and destroy turrets easily by click near turret ,then right click turret then click other place [repeat this]
wat about mnms? i used this method and keeps dying,even if i use hold/patrol/attackmove,the muta lags like a bit then attack,by the time it shoots my muta are already heavily dmged

If you are trying to pick off MnM in a group in an open area usually MnM > Muta. You have to try to harass his buildings and SCV's enough so that he misplaces his marines and they split up. This is when you want to go in and kill marines.
Against a decent Terran player, you will lose more than you gain if you don't have a terrain/position advantage against MnM. I spaces out the barracks in the main base so you can use them to your advantage. If you only find 1 lost marine then it is best to right click past him, maintain speed, then right click before you pass over him and fly back away. If you find like 2+(obviously not like a dozen or anything that will rape your mutas) then you are usually better off hovering above the small group and holding position or just do a swooping attack but retreat after you press hold position quickly if he has turrets or reinforcements coming or something.
If there is a bit of lag before the muta shoots, it is either not LAN latency or you just aren't used to the short delay they have anyways.

Definitely the best muta micro map I have played. I noticed a few bugs though - once I destroy all the turrets at the nat, the huge mnm/valk/vessel ball in the Terran main doesn't come down to defend. I'm not sure if this is fixable via map scripting or not. Basically, I razed his turrets, killed the rines there, and even though they respawn, I kept picking them off and then got his CC. SCVs keep spawning whenever I hit them, but the rines in the main don't come down to defend.
I also get some turret couldn't be placed messages. Again, not complaining, the map is great. Just hoping you can fix these bugs in future releases. Good job!

I got a lazy little with that turret error, but I can fix it. I purposely tried to make it so there are two separate armies in the main and nat, and made them defend only that position. I've kind of built my scripting on the fact that they will only defend their one section so it might take some time to change it if you like. One valk and a vessel should come down though and it should irradiate you. I'm assuming you used all 22 mutalisks for that, the Terran defense is pretty good IMO.

I think this is a great map and you are doing the community a real service by doing this.
Future idea. Huge mech army camping 3 bases on destination or colo mines/tanks/gols/valks/sci and zerg spawns with 140 supply hydra/ling/defiler and 5 fully mining bases.
Just practicing breaking that type of contain would be great!

Moral of this story: After about 10 hours you will probably have to restart because the mineral patches mine out.

I'm just about to work on the PvZ map right now, but I'm trying to not use Python for every map I make. I was thinking about Medusa, Tau Cross or Longinus because they are 3 maps with pretty common naturals to use. I'm looking for a 3 player map because I am going to have three different zerg natural scenarios with different difficulties. The problem I'm having is that my map unprotector is no longer working and I can't seem to get a version of either of those maps to load. If anyone has a version of one of those maps that isn't unprotected(or if you can unprotect one that is) can you please send it to me?

Okay I have started working on the map now. I'm about 1-1.5 hours in, and I have the layout, scenarios, as well as the locations done on the map. I just need to do the triggers/scripting and set upgrades etc and it will be finished.
Some features thus far: - Layout based on the map Medusa. - There are 3 large zerg areas. Each area contains 3 zerg bases: Medusa's main, natural, and mineral only expo. - Each giant zerg area has a different difficulty. There is simply easy, medium, and hard. Each difficulty contains more units and buildings(which can be reset by you at any time). - The naturals contain spores, sunkens, lurkers, lings, and scourge for breaking a zergs front entrance. - You are given the choice to spawn almost any protoss unit(no carriers, arbiters, probes, scouts, uncommon PvZ units, etc) - You pick an army out for you to use then use it however you will. For example, you may get shuttles, reavers, zealots, and HT and go for harass or even serious damage at the zerg main or mineral only. - You are able to upgrade virtually any protoss upgrade. I haven't done it yet, but I am thinking of starting the zerg upgrades at 2-1 or so for the ground, and the air at 3-2. You can upgrade your units to match or exceed the zergs upgrades. - There is also another scouting probe in the corner of the map with a zealot for multitasking. - There is a spot where you spawn zerg air units to fight against. In this case you can practice goon/HT or archon/DA or archon/goon or goon/DA or whatever you want against the zerg air units you create. Once you step into an area(marked by different terrain) the zerg units come at you. - Maybe more to come, I'm still working on it. I was going to do PvZ micro against hydras but you can't really make the computer AI attack and run or micro very well so it would be kind of pointless, sorry. If anyone else has any suggestions/questions please ask. I am running out of room on the map kind of, so it can't be anything too big. I will try to include any bigger ideas on a seperate map though. I.E. no "can do a proxy 9/9gate vs 12hatch zerg". First of all because this is a pretty big thing to add, and second of all, once again, I can't make the computer do a certain BO, micro against zealots, or make a creep colony at a specific time or anything.

I don't want to be a jerk about it but could you please type my name correctly? It is right in front of you after all...
Anyway, to answer your question, yes I can definitely make a PvT map like that, but this is still under a first come - first serve basis. I am currently working on a TvZ micro map and I'm not sure if there has already been a suggestion after that but eventually I will get to this.

One quick question: I'm working on the TvZ map right now and adding the wraith micro part. How exactly would you guys like this to work? I'm still catching up on the latest games so I haven't seen the latest gosu wraith micro that people are talking about. Is this wraith vs scourge? wraith vs muta? wraith vs hydra? spore colonies? How would you like me to set this up? Like in the PvZ map where there are 3 bases all with different difficulties? Where you spawn the units you want to use? Currently the only thing I know what I am putting in is giving you an area to do the chinese triangle with wraiths vs scourge.

Oh, just noticed you're working on a TvZ micro map. That's more like it! I've been so inspired lately after seeing Leta's wraith control, but it's not easy to practise that specifically, so this will be great. Looking forward to it!
I would love to see all of those things you mentioned in it, as well as drone harassment, overlord sniping (so your cloak will pwn) and multitasking while microing and stuff like that. I'm sure it'll be awesome! Gogo!
You should make a TvP as well.

About 2-3 hours or so for the first version, and then if people have feedback or suggestions I'll go back and edit it on top of that, so probably just over 3 hours for each.

so basically you have 4 or 5 hatcheries and you can hotkey them, and macro at the same time (4sh5sh6sh etc)

i dont think this is a big issue but 2 mineral patches in the terran's main start with 1500 instead of 50000.

i dont see the new PvZ map?? can you put the link? other thing man, will you work on PvT?? Carrier vs Goliath? Shutter+reaver vs Tank+Turrrent? maybe some marines or vultures or mines maybe and you can add defeating a big push a push that can be set up easy normal hard etc

When I go to stadium, before a set start, every zerg progamers practice on this map. It's so useful.
